Luciano
Adriano came storming into my home with Vicente and a dozen of their men.
"Where is she?" I looked at him confused. "MY DAUGHTER! WHERE THE HELL IS SHE?"
"What do you mean?" I asked. "She is not here. I haven't seen her since you kicked me out of your home." I smiled at him. He huffed.
"Luciano," he took a deep breath. "Do you really think I wouldn't recognize my own son?" I didn't show any emotion but I was intrigued. "My wife and I cared for you since you were a baby. We recognized you the minute you stepped foot in my home. We were both confused as to why you let him pretend to be you." Adriano directed his gaze at Heitor. "You may not have been my son by blood but I still cared for you and loved you as my own."
"So you treat your son you love so much with such disrespect? You kick him out of your home?" I said.
"You f****d my daughter with no regard to her feelings," Adriano replied.
"You have no clue about how she feels," I retorted.
"Probably not but I was only pretending to be that upset at you," he added.
"Why?"
"You think I had a good standing relationship with Dario?" Adriano asked.
"It looked like it,"
"Well, I didn't. I don't. I pretended to be civil with him so I could bring him down. I began to suspect he knew I was playing him. He wondered about my newfound relationship with my son. He had someone following you and looking into your business and past."
"And?"
"And, he told me about your little switch with Heitor before you did. I figured if I pretended to be upset and throw a fit. It could benefit me. I also knew there was no way in hell your grandfather and Daniel had forgiven and forgotten everything so easily. I knew the day they took you they would be planning something against me, with your help of course. Dario told me about your visits with them. I guess he was trying to turn me against you. He knows I need an heir. He has a bastard son he just found out about two years ago. He hoped I would meet him and set up an alliance."
"Through marriage?" I questioned.
"NO! NEVER!" Adriano shouted. "I would never sell my daughter to anyone. Anyone, you hear me."
"I love her," I could see Adriano tense up at my declaration. I smirked and said, "she loves me too."
"I would want to hear it from her before I allow anything to," he paused. "We need to find her." My mood changed. This entire time Adriano hoped Camila was here but now that he knows she isn't we both began to panic.
"So, do you believe it was Dario?" I asked.
"Possibly," he said. "He is acting normal. I told him about the scene I caused here and that she probably ran off to see you. He must be thinking he has some time before I turn my eyes on him."
"So, we use that time to find him and get her back," I felt a lump form in my throat. "Before he."
"He wouldn't dare," Adriano snapped. We knew the business Dario was in. He sold women for profit. But would he go as far as to sell the daughter of the most ruthless and powerful man in the city? "Dario is a reckless man and if pushed or provoked he could be capable of anything." Adriano looked concerned. "I have been playing Dario for some time. I have taken business away and put the FBI on his trail. He has reason to go after me where it would hurt the most."
"f**k!" I cursed. "We have to move quickly. Heitor, Demetri, find out all you can." They both left quickly. Adriano said it was better for me to come home with him. I wanted to protest but I needed to know everything they knew. I didn't want to wait for a call. We headed over to Adriano's home and we were greeted by Catalina. Her smile was wide.
"So, I guess he told you," I simply nodded at her words. "Well, I am glad to see you again." She walked over to me and gave me a small hug. I always felt warmth around her. She was kind just like Camila. I guess this is where she gets it from. We waited around for hours. Finally, Heitor called.
"Dario has his men guarding his home around the clock. There are men at every inch of the property but he is not here."
"No?"
"No, he is at an abandoned house by the riverside. His 2nd in command goes from here to there every day."
"What else did you find out?"
"There were several guests there today?" Heitor said. "Some barely leaving right now. Demetri is there and I am watching his home."
"Good, stay where you are? Let me know if you find out anything else," I told him.
"Will do,"
I hung up. Adriano was staring at me.
"He invited potential buyers. That son of a b***h is going to die," Adriano said.
"Do we just go in and grab her?" I asked.
"Thinking about it," he said. "I don't care what happens. I need to get her out of there tonight."
"Agreed," I said. We gathered his men and told them our plan. Dario wouldn't be expecting it since he assumed Camila just ran off. If we didn't do this now, Dario would go on high alert and move his men to the abandoned house. We left immediately and I prayed she was okay. We reached the house. I still had Heitor watching the other house since if any of his men made it here we could be ambushed. Demetri made his way to us and we looked around for a point of entry. Demetri told us the front of the house was boarded up. We looked in the rear and saw a cellar door. We made sure to stay quiet and we slowly made our way inside.
