Cassy is Back?!

HERMAN’S POV…. Finishing with the stack of files on my table, I looked up to see Greg, my beta smiling at me nervously. “What now?” I questioned briefly with boredom. I knew that look. Whenever he had such on his face, something might have gone wrong. And whatever it was I was sure I was not in the mood for it. Squeezing my eyes shut and fluttering them open to glare at him. “If you have nothing to report, leave my office now. I have no time for your silly antics.” He shuddered at the sound of my voice and propped up his shoulders; I guess, getting ready to spill the beans. “The meeting of the Alphas has been said to be held next week.” He said quietly which got me confused. “So? Why is that news?” I veered out, getting to my feet. “Alpha Herman, you are not invited this time around.” For a split moment I felt disconnected and more confused. “Why?” I clenched my knuckles trying to stop myself from bursting into rage. Why would the bast*rds not invite me to the Alphas’ meeting. “I'm trying to find out why but the chairman has refused to say anything. He only stated that if you're not okay with your lack of invite, you should reach out and know why.” He relented all in one breath. My fist connected with my desk as I wished it was Alpha Lawrence’s face. The b*stard had been on my nerves since he became the Chairman but he forgets every time that I'm not the one to be messed with. “Get out!” I yelled and soon heard the door slamming quietly. The quietness of the room didn't do justice to how I was feeling. The murderous feeling arousing at the pity of my stomach had me imagining more than one way I could kill Lawrence. “What's the matter?” I heard. The last voice I wanted to hear. Someone I couldn't seem to escape from no matter how hard I try. An Angel I had thought she was until I found out she killed my heir. I'm talking about no one else but my Wife, Carissa Kavander. “Now is not the right time.” I muttered and slowly turned to face her. “Go away, I don't wish to see your face.” Her face coated in disgust. “If you haven't noticed, I'm pregnant again. Miscarrying that one baby shouldn't make you hate me this much.” “I don't care, Carissa. You shouldn't have done what you did so if you will excuse me, I would rather be left alone.” I mumbled and unsatisfactorily walked up to her. I kissed her on the forehead and pushed her towards the entrance of my office. “I love you, Carissa.” “I'm not so sure about that anymore. Maybe if Cassy was here, you wouldn't have to put up with me anymore.” She yelled, throwing me a scornful look before exiting the office. Momentarily, I lost balance. What she said struck a nerve and I shivered slightly. I might not have liked her sister one bit when she was here but after she left I realized she was a part of me I could never get rid of and I had hoped that one day she would be back. “Sir?” I looked up to see one of the guards positioned at the gate bowing slightly in respect. “Someone is here to see you and She is Cassidy Kavander.” My eyes bulged out in surprise. “Cassidy is here?” I questioned and the guard nodded. “She is, My Lord and she has changed. She looks nothing like the old Cassy.” He relayed happily. “Invite her in and make her comfortable. I will be with her in a short while.” I announced happily, doing a happy dance as soon as the guard left. The best news ever. Could this be a sign? I had wished desperately for ten years for her to return and today she was back? It was definitely a sign. “Don't worry, dear Cassy. I will make up for the as*hole I was to you in the past.” I promised myself and left my office to see for myself. Honestly, she was everything the guard had said and more. The lady I was staring at was brand new, her charisma and poise was everything. She had this confidence; 1000/100. I was lost for words the minute I saw her. Then the guiltiness of all the things I had done to her came to play within me. Regardless of how happy I was to see her, I could tell my presence disgusted her. Hopefully, before she could go back to where she came from, I might have won her over. I might not want her back but I definitely want her forgiveness. It's the only way I would have peace. “Are you sure you don't want her back?” My Wolf, Kristof scoffed. “You were drooling over her the minute you saw her.” He mocked me and grew silent. I sighed and watched my Ex-Mate as she brushed past me and heading towards her old room. Every nerve in my mind was screaming ‘go after her!’ But I was going to play it cool. ********* Glancing at the wall clock in my bedroom, I knew it was time for lunch. I was bubbling with excitement because no doubt Cassy will be there. I quickly ran a bath and wore my best clothes. I didn't fail to put on my best cologne as well. If I was going to start this journey of forgiveness, I might as well start looking appealing to her. Sensing the satisfactory twinkle in my eyes, I nodded and left the bedroom. Getting almost to the dining hall, I picked up a scent I was so familiar with and frowned. “What's this bast*rd doing here unannounced?” I fumed as I tried so hard to keep a cool posture. Gathering so much to say to him but halted in my tracks at the entrance of the dining hall. Right there in his charming arms was my Ex-Mate embraced and I lost my temper.
