5. Confused

Kalliste was confused. She didn't listen to what the doctor who examined her head said. She couldn't have heard wrong, and she could remember the concerned look on Viltarin's face. How could something like this happen?

If Viltarin is also Kalliste's mate. What about Kenric? Kalliste really didn't understand why the Moon Goddess gave her two mates?

The doctor leaves the room. She is currently in her room. Viltarin asked Beta Osias to call a doctor after she fell to the floor after being attacked by two wolves, and Viltarin carried her into the room!

Neither of them spoke on the way to the room. She and Viltarin were both speechless. Kalliste is confused and doesn't believe in her destiny, while Viltarin feels ashamed that he called Kaliste a mate.

"This is really confusing." Kalliste scratched her head. "Do I dream or hallucination because I smell Alpha Viltarin's body?" Her brows knit together. She was in deep thought. She wanted to refuse and forget that she smelled Viltarin's body and felt the vibes when they were together.

"Gosh. I didn't expect this to happen." Kalliste stood up and rubbed her hands.

'You overthink. You just need to accept that Alpha Viltarin is also our mate. I advise you to forget about Alpha Kenric. He never loved you and even sent you here. He gave you conditions so that he loves you. He's not sincere!' Irena is furious. She hated Kenric even more after Kenric ordered Kalliste to the Sapphire Pack to work and disguised himself as a spy. Kenric doesn't deserve them.

Kalliste understands why Irena is angry and hates Kenric, but for her, Kenric is her mate. The Mate she loved, even though Kenric didn't love her back and never even considered her.

'We haven't gotten any confirmation from Alpha Viltarin. Maybe he's just talking.' Kalliste still couldn't believe it. She wanted to deny it.

Kalliste had come here to work as well as Kenric's spy. She hopes to finish her work and earn recognition from Kenric. She only wished for one thing, that Kenric would love her back. Irena took a deep breath. It seems that it will not be easy to persuade Kalliste. 'Alpha Viltarin called you mate, and we smelled his scent. What kind of proof do you need? I'm sure he'll be calling you soon to talk about mate.'

Kalliste sat back down on the edge of the bed. Suddenly her body felt limp. She seemed to have lost her life. What should she do if Alpha Viltarin talks about mate? Should she tell the truth? If he said she already had a mate, her purpose for coming to this pack would be exposed.

Last night Viltarin and Ryu had talked about Kalliste, who was his mate, and Viltarin would try to open himself up to Kalliste. But the truth is he wasn't ready. His heart was beating so fast it looked like it was going to explode. He felt uneasy, anxious, worried, and afraid. Negative emotions filled his heart and disturbed his mind.

Viltarin squeezed his crushed chest. Memories that were his childhood memory appeared in his mind. He hated and was angry when the memories surfaced. This really tortured him and made his mood fall apart.

"I'd hate to have seen it." He drank the water that was always on his desk. He inhaled and exhaled, trying to calm himself down. He wanted to throw away the memories that made him like this, but it wasn't easy. The more he tried to forget it, the more he remembered it.

Ryu gave up. If only he could do something to help Viltarin to forget everything and convince Viltarin that nothing bad would happen as he thought all along. 'I know this isn't easy for you. But like I said last night, maybe Kalliste is a drug that can get you out of that trauma. You haven't tried it. Try to fight your fear. Do you want to be forever trapped in darkness? Don't you want to change? Don't you want to do it?'

Vitarin thought about what his wolf had said. He had met his mate. As Ryu said last night, he never looked for his mate, and suddenly the Moon Goddess sent his mate to his house. He didn't mind that Kalliste was an omega. He never looked at someone from his family status and position.

Osias knocked on his workspace door and asked permission to enter. Viltarin had to prepare himself if Osias asked about his mate. He looked at Osias, who put a file on his desk.

"Why?" Vitarin raised his eyebrows. Osias kept looking at him and seemed to want to say something but hesitated.

Osias squeezed his fingers together; he looked at Alpha with both curious and scared eyes. "Have you met your mate, Alpha?" He and the omegas heard clearly when Alpha shouted, calling Kalliste mate, but he wanted to make sure it was true.

Vitarin rolled his eyes. "Why do you ask? Didn't you hear it?"

Osias grinned widely. "That means Kalliste is your mate?" He couldn't hide the happiness on his face. Finally, Alpha found his mate!

"Yes." Vitarin nodded slowly. He was considering Ryu's words asking him to meet Kalliste to talk about them.

"Are you going to talk to her?" Osias asked carefully. He stared at Alpha timidly. He was worried that Alpha would be mad at him.

"Don't know." Vitarin shook his head. "I know you must have asked me to meet her. I wanted to, but I …." Viltarin stood up and walked over to the window. He saw the leaves falling from the trees. Autumn has come.

"I understand, Alpha. Don't push yourself." Osias looked at Viltarin's back. Others only knew how terrifying Alpha was on the battlefield, but the one who understood Alpha's weak side was him. Since only he knows Alpha's weakness, he will keep Alpha's weak side from being discovered by anyone. But how does he get Alpha to want to meet Kalliste? They are a pair of mates.

Vitarin mused. He shoved his hands into his trouser pockets. He never thought about what he would do when he met his mate. He never thought about what would happen in the future. Fear and disappointment had broken his heart.

'You think about Kalliste's feelings. She must wonder why you didn't call her to talk about mate. We can think about marking and getting married someday when you're ready. We don't need to rush; the most important thing now is that you two know you are mates.' Ryu said softly and carefully. He hoped Viltarin was thinking his words. He would be delighted if Viltarin would talk to Kalliste.

Viltarin stroked his chin. Ryu's words were true. He didn't want to make Kalliste think negatively of him. 'But if I don't flag her, he's sure to have many questions going through her head.'

'I know you can't possibly tell him the truth. You can give logical reasons. The most important thing is that you tell her about she is our mate.' Ryu doesn't give up trying to persuade Viltarin. He wanted to meet his mate, but he couldn't be selfish. He had to think about Viltarin's mental.

'Ok, ok. I will try it.' Viltarin took a deep breath and let it out slowly. He could feel his heart pounding very fast. This was the first time he had spoken alone to a woman. Usually, Osias always accompanies him.

Viltarin walked over to Osias, who was reading one of the files on the table. He patted Osias on the shoulder and squeezed him lightly. Osias turned his head, and his face showed confusion. Viltarin felt something stuck in his throat. "I decided to meet my mate. Where should we meet?" He said quickly.

Osias blinked twice. He was confused and also shocked. Finally, Alpha wants to meet his mate! This is a miracle. Hope he gets some good news from Alpha. "I'll bring her here, Alpha."
