Getting engaged

Anna couldn't believe her ears. " So when I called you 'father', you thought I meant it? Don't flatter yourself, I don't have a father as I don't have a mother," Anna shouted, letting her emotions take over.

Peter saw this and went in and hugged her. " Enough, Sis, no need to get angry, calm down." He comforted her, feeling sad.

It was supposed to be a happy reunion, but look what happened. He also missed his sister, but if possible, he didn't wish for her to come back to this corrupt family.

"Well, whether you like it or not, you will be engaged and tomorrow get ready," Paul said and headed upstairs. Cathy saw this and hurriedly said, " Dad, since she doesn't want how about..."

" Be quiet" Paul ordered. Cathy was so angered that she turned to Anna to direct her anger.

"You.." she pointed at her

"You what? If I'm not scared of that man, who do you think you are?" Anna checked her out for the first time, although she was beautiful, her eyes were so small, and her height made her look more cute than beautiful.

"Enough, Cathy, even if she gets engaged, he will never like her, so don't waste your time on her." Vanessa came in for her daughter.

Cathy ran to her room and her mom followed

"Mom, it's unfair, we are in love with my brother Leo, but.."

"It's all that b***h's fault. We were in love, but she had to marry Paul because of her status. Hahaha, but she's dead, no, and I have all her things bitch.h" Vanessa's eyes turned red thinking about the past.

She and Paul were childhood sweethearts but had to be separated because of an arranged marriage between rich families.

So after Mary's death, she took over the status of Ms Reyes.

Cathy smiled, and she looked at her mom, who also had the same spark in their eyes; she only had to wait.

Downstairs, Anna looked at her brother, who looked like a mix of Paul and their mother. Well, if you ask how she knows her, it is that she was told by Matilda that she looks like her late mother.

"How have you been sister?" Peter asked tears threatening to fall. His sister was so tiny that she looked sick. She must have had it hard out there.

Anna smiled and hugged him once again. " I am fine, brother, and how are you coping with these wolves?"

Peter smiled and hugged her too, "Well as you see every day here is a new episode of drama but we spend most of our time at the academy"

"Wow, that's good if you do not stay here" Anna sat down and looked at her brother.

Peter felt guilty but spoke, "If I were asked, I would not want you to come back here..." He said and watched Anna look at him with sad eyes.

"Is brother also not happy that I am here, didn't you want to see me again?" Anna looked sad with tears threatening to fall.

Peter panicked and held her wrist " No dear you didn't let me finish, I don't want you to take a role in their ongoing drama"

Anna smiled, of course, she could see that he didn't mean anything bad, but it was not so different from where she came from, the only difference was that the other side ignored her while this side was fire.

"I know, brother, I was just teasing you, don't worry, I will handle them," She assured him with her cute smile.

Peter saw her cute dimples and sighed "Okay if you need any help contact me"

"Of course, and don't you dare get tired of me," Anna said, acting cute without knowing the feeling was so natural that she felt like she had spent years with her brother, guess that was blood.

They chatted up tonight and Peter excused himself and went to his room with a happy expression. Matilda saw everything that happened and was glad that Peter could smile.

He was alone most of the time at the house, and his father didn't care, so he became stubborn and acted unruly, but she could see his yearning to be noticed by his father, but no. The man stopped caring after his wife's death. This house was once a home for four people, but it all came crashing down when Anna got lost at the age of three. Madam became sick and two years later she died.

Paul became busy every single day neglecting his seven-year-old son until he married his childhood sweetheart, but the house never felt the same. Others couldn't see it, but Paul was also hurting, and in the process, he was also hurting his dear ones.

Peter freshened up while humming a song; he had never been happy ever since his mother died. He didn't remember ever being genuinely happy like today.

His baby sister was finally home, but he was worried for her; she was going to get hurt in the process of this ongoing drama. The man already had Cathy in his eyes, so his sister was to suffer, and he would not like to witness that. He dried his hair and went back downstairs.

Peter came in when he spotted Anna in the kitchen, busy preparing food, and swore to himself that he would risk it all to protect his lovely, adorable sister.

At night, they had a simple dinner which was prepared by his sister; the food was the best he had ever tasted. He ate two plates while praising her nonstop.

Anna was also happy to see her brother eating but had to stop him " Slow down brother, it's late at night what if you get bloated"

Peter had to put down his fork with a pout on his handsome face" But it's so delicious "

" I know, how about from now on I make you food mm?"Anna suggests.

"But I will be at school how will you cook for me then?" Peter was frustrated.

Anna also realized that and kept quiet but soon Peter came up with an idea. "How about enrolling in our academy?"

Anna looked at him and then looked down " But I heard that the reason I am here is to get engaged"

"Yes, engaged, not married," Peter said to her, and it worked.

"You are right, then that will be sorted" She high-fived him and continued eating. Matilda was listening and decided to try out the leftovers to test her young miss's cooking, and wow, she wasn't disappointed.

After eating, the siblings decided to go for a simple walk, talking and laughing, and this didn't go unnoticed by Cathy; she watched them laugh and felt jealous.

Peter never warmed to her; he always ignored her, if not mocking her, but as soon as his sister came in, he changed from cold to a warm person. Cathy did not like it at all.

Paul was also watching his kids who seemed happy, he remembered his dead wife and felt his heart hurt, that girl looked exactly like her mother and she was the cause of her death, if she had not gotten lost maybe his wife would still be alive, he closed the curtain and turned off the lights, and headed to bed.

Vanessa saw her husband lost in thought, and then, getting angry, she frowned, knowing very well that her once-loving boyfriend's heart now belonged to that dead woman. She was already dead, but never let her enjoy her life.
