Eldeic's POV “ Hun, that little b***h, who gave her the right to talk to me like that. I should have just killed her when I got the chance.” Skye said, looking angry. I didn't even know what to think, I mean, I did cheat on her with her best friend and I felt a bit guilty about her and the words I said too, but I'm not changing my mind, it's already been done, and it will continue like that. “Baby, you need to calm down. When are you going to reject your mate?” “Oh, that. I'll reject him this night. He probably might have felt it when we were having fun earlier before that witch and stupid weakling walked in on us and ruined it with her stupid presence and that b*tch talk.” Skye said, rubbing her forehead. “Oh my love, we don't need to worry about that anymore, right? She already knows that I'm not going to marry her, but the pack doesn't know yet, and I'd love to see the surprised look on their faces when they see you in the beautiful white wedding dress and me declaring you my wife.” I said, holding her by her waist and resting my forehead on hers. Gosh, she's so sexy. I think I'm in love with her. Oh, wait a second, I'm not in love with her, I'm just using her. “Come on, let's go get dinner. I'm hungry.” I said, still looking at Skye. “Are you hungry for me or for actual food? Well, who cares? You can have me first.” She said, pulling me towards her. It's been two hours since Lyra found out that I was cheating on her, and normally, she would go to the pack's club to drink her head off, but I can't seem to find her here. I think I'll just give her some time, any minute she'll walk in here. I have to ask her to keep her mouth shut until after the wedding, or she should call off the wedding or not come for the wedding so she won't tell anyone that I was cheating on her with her best friend. “Where Is Lyra? I haven't seen her for the whole day,” Dad asked, using his eyes to scan the club. “Hum, I haven't seen her too but, I'm sure she'll be here any minute,” I said, not wanting to say much. After four years of being together, everyone in my family has taken Lyra as their own, especially now that we are to get married in two days. I was about to add to the answer I had him, when I suddenly realized, my father never goes to clubs, especially this one because he's an elder, just like Lyra's father. “ I came here looking for your sister.” Wait a minute, Dad is here looking for Harper? She must have done something for Dad to come to the pack's club. “What happened? It is unusual for you to come here. Why didn't you just send Eli to look for her?” I asked, hoping he would tell me because he's a bit secretive. Eli is our family's bodyguard, and he is like a brother to my sister and me and a son to my parents. We adopted him when he was five, and ever since then, he's been with us. “ I couldn't find either of them. At first, I thought it was nothing until the Alpha told me with the mind link that she beat up the beta's son after he said some rude things about Lyra.” Dad said, looking with a mixture of worry, pride, and amusement. Jeez, Lyra again. I can't tell my Dad that I was cheating on her with her best friend, and she caught us today and has yet to come into the club. Sh*t, what am I going to do now? “ So what about Eli?” “He was with her the whole time and didn't stop her,” Dad said as his eyes sparkled. “Wow, that's unusual of him,” I said and took a sip from the whisk in my hand. “Yeah, he must like Lyra.” “Hm, so what are you doing in the club?” “I heard, and I know she comes here a lot, so…” “So you're guessing she's here so you would scold both her and Eli, but judging from the sparkling in your eyes, I doubt there's going to be any scolding,” I said, cutting him off. “Is it really that obvious?” “Yes.” “Hm, I have to go then, send my greetings to Lyra, and tell her your mother said she wants her to come over for lunch tomorrow afternoon by three pm, okay?” Dad said before heading out of the club. I haven't spoken so freely with my dad in a while. I guess Harper's sudden lash out and Eli's suddenly letting her beat up the Beta's son, puts Dad in a good mood. Now I can't tell him about Lyra and I broke up, he's going to kill me. I was rubbing my forehead from the whole thinking when Brody, Gray, and the other guys came over. “Hey dude, what's up? Why do you look like you have a million thoughts in your head, and they're all creeping in at once?” Brody asked. “It's nothing,” I said, shaking the thoughts off my head. “Have you seen Lyra, today? She looks as beautiful as ever. I saw her this evening going somewhere. Gosh, if she were my mate, I'd pray to the Moon goddess for giving me a mate or a lover like her.” One of the guys said, showing his obvious interest in her. Lyra, Lyra, Lyra. All I hear is her name. Can't I have a break from her? Even when she's not here, her name seems to haunt me. I was getting frustrated, and I wanted to lash out at him, but I tried keeping my cool. Brody was about to say something when Mrs. Green ran in, gasping for air. “Brody, your sister was meant to come meet me this evening, but I can't seem to find her anywhere.
