"You need to focus," Theo said as he threw the sword at me.
I caught it as I tied my hair into a ponytail. "You know, aside from hunting vampires, I also have a life as a student!!!!" I yelled at him.
"So what are you implying?" He asked as he held out his sword.
"That, you can't be calling me all the time," I said to him so he could understand that apart from catching demons, I was also a student to have a life.
"I didn't call you all the time." He scoffed.
"Well you did and I was having a lecture!!! Could you please not do that next time? I beg you." I said. Theo was something else. Always trying to force me to do stuff because he knew my secret and could kill me whenever he wanted. I might be an immortal but hunters sure knew how they do their stuff.
I could be dead any minute if I provoked him but something wasn't right either. Theo was changing. He was getting closer to me than he was before. I guess he liked me. Wasn't sure but the way he looked at me and talked to me calmly was different.
"Stop daydreaming and focus." He said. He snapped his fingers to my face.
I gritted my teeth and forced my body into the martial fighting figure. I didn't even have much sleep this morning and now he wanted me to practice kung fu? As if I wanted to be here.
"I don't need martial art, I'm good with my claws and fangs on their skin. I also fought Este in the woods, I fought with Corner's psycho ex-girlfriend so why do I need to learn a martial art?" I asked him.
He stood as he placed one of his hands on his hip. "Who are these people?" He asked. Confused.
I scoffed. "You said you know everything about me but you don't know about the fight?!!!" I asked.
"Nope." He said.
"Well, Este was sunshine, my twin sister who got manipulated by King Cain our father. He sent her to kill me multiple times but I always... em..." he interrupted before I could say any other word.
"Wait, you killed your twin sister?!!! That's bad!!" He teased and I frowned.
"No, I didn't kill Este, My father did. All I'm saying is, I wish I could know her more but King Cain ruined it all. And Corner's ex-girlfriend was a Hybrid but Corner killed her because he wanted to protect me." I said. And I was grateful for his loyalty towards me. He was a good person and I would forever be grateful if I met him.
"Why will someone kill their girlfriend for a girl? We're you like in a secret affair?" He changed his position. I shook my head. Trying to make him realize that you have to be loyal to someone from royalty and I was also the chosen one so he had no choice.
"Nope, I was the princess and they swore to protect me and in the shadow world, if you break a promise, you will die and if you run, we will find you and you die," I said. "So I don't need martial art, I'm already good at fighting vampires and demons," I added.
Theo dropped the sword as he walked toward a black vinyl punch bag that was hung from the ceiling. He took off his cloth. Damn, he was seducing me with that killer body? I thought he was here to train.
"Come here." He said as I walked toward him. I didn't want to think about something else.
He put on the glove for me as he placed my hand in the bag. He started to teach me how to punch. Now that I remembered, I didn't do much punching, just my fingers and teeth, and sword fighting and good thing was, I was enjoying this. It was fun.
The lung at me. I brought my arms to protect my face and he headed straight to my solar plexus. It hurt. Badly.
I ducked another punch as I tried to hit him but I guess he was good at this game. Better than Ethan was.
Riley glanced from the doorway. She looked concerned. "Easy Theo." She said as she walked in.
"She is a fast learner." Theo complimented me. "She is doing very well and she will also need a lot of sleep after this."
"What?!!" I asked. "A lot of sleep?" Before I knew it, I slammed onto the floor.

The sound of my phone made me roll out of bed. The soft warm bed seem familiar but it wasn't mine. My bed wasn't as warm as this or anywhere near soft.
I opened my eyes and stood up immediately. Did I sleep off at the Hunter's Lear? I checked my phone.
Fuck!!! It's already 10. I was late for my presentation.
I unlocked my phone. Beauty called.
"Good morning." Riley walked in with a tray in her hand.
"Hi Riley, can I get a spear cloth because I can't go back to my dorm to get one for myself. I'm late for class." I say as I run to the bathroom and lock the door.
"No problem." She said behind closed doors.
Ten minutes had passed, I checked out the dress Riley brought and none of them was my size. She was tinned. Except for one off-white fur skirt.
I used my hand to check it out very well. "Really?" I stared at her. Not sure if I was going to wear that dress.
"My clothes are small. I know. But you don't have a choice." She said to me and she was right.
I wore m them immediately and they were looking good on me. I'd look like a model but this for a presentation?!!! I was toast but I was happy that Beauty did the assignment already.
"Thanks," I said as I opened the plate that was on the tray. "Blood? For who?" I asked. It couldn't have been for me. When was the last time I had to drink blood?
"Uh, for you Inez. You are a dhampir. You need energy." Riley said. I looked at her and frowned.
"I don't drink blood anymore," I said as I carried my bag and walked out of the room.
How could I have slept off? Maybe it was because it was my first time punching a bag but he could have gone easy on me. When I thought he was becoming nicer. I guess he was giving out missed signals.
Beauty would be mad at me. Obviously. So I called her as I stood outside the hunter's building.
"You are late." She said, "but luckily for you, you have twenty minutes to get here."
"Thank you so much Beauty. I will be there, something came up yesterday and I overslept."
"Hmm, you mean the charity you went for?" She said as she chuckled through the phone. She knew I lied. Was I that obvious? "Please be fast and by the way, have you heard from Ava? She isn't picking up my calls." I said.
"What? I thought she was with you." Beauty said.
"She wasn't even in class yesterday and you would have known if you weren't concerned about Daniel and his girlfriend." Beauty said to me and she was right. But I knew she wasn't in class. I just didn't know where she went to.
"Was I that obvious?" I asked as I walked to get to the road to get a cab.
"I guessed I was the only one who noticed it. For now, just call Ava and tell her to meet us in class." Beauty said to me as I entered the cab to the institute.
"I will. Thanks." I said to Beauty.
