I kept biting on my nails as the lecturer continues his lecture. I barely heard what he said.
Yesterday wasn't funny at all. Beauty and Lydia were in the same pendant? How is that possible if she was the Dean's daughter? Does that mean she is also Lydia's daughter? How is everything like this? What trick was life playing with me this time? Firstly, it took Chase away from me, and now surprised me with this?
Lydia was a witch. A leader. No wonder Beauty's house was having a strong aura. Lydia was the most powerful witch back in the shadow world but if she was related to Beauty, why is she in the shadow world and not in California with her family? Nothing was clear.
The thought repeated itself over and over again in my head. I was also avoiding Beauty and she will suspect I saw something at her house yesterday.
After class, I found myself sitting in the cafeteria, there was a plate of sandwiches in front of me.
I didn't know when Beauty sat next to me until she tapped my shoulder. She smiled at me.
I gasp as if I had seen a ghost.
"You are avoiding me." She said as she took the sandwich from my plate and put it in her mouth. "It is obvious. Don't make it obvious."
I frowned at the sight of seeing her eat my food.
"What! I'm hungry." She pouted.
"I'm not avoiding you, I'm... I'm ... just trying to... clear my head." I stuttered.
She brought her head up and down slowly as she continued to chew. "You know you are lying."
"I'm not." I lied. I guessed she could smell the nervousness in my voice. So much for being Queen of supernatural beings in the shadow world.
Beauty rolled her eyes. "I've got good news, the guy you were staring at yesterday."
I try to remember but nothing came to my mind. "Who?" I asked.
"The one with the blondie girlfriend." She rolled her eyes again as she swallowed.
"You just finished all my food." I placed my hand on my chin. "I'm still hungry," I said.
"Do u want to hear the news or not?!!" Beauty asked.
"What about Chase?" I asked.
She bit her lips trying to keep up. "Who?" She asked again. I bet she couldn't remember who Chase was even after I told her he was my dead boyfriend.
"I mean, Daniel. What news did you find?" I asked. Now she was back on track.
"So I went to my dad's office and researched about him but something felt strange." Beauty said. I became more curious.
"What do you mean by strange Beauty?" Of course, it will be strange. He was my dead boyfriend who suddenly came back to life and ended up in the same university as me not strange? What more strange thing could I be expecting?
"His parents are dead and currently he is living in San Francisco with his Grandmother." She said. I looked at her, trying to keep up wrath what she was saying.
"And do you know what killed his parents?" I know I shouldn't be asking strange questions but I didn't have a choice. I had to know if he was Chase Parker because he have to be. I have to be happy again with him next to me.
"You are acting strange by wanting to know much about a stranger but since you want to know more, I will find out everything about him even his childhood. You can always rely on me." Beauty reassured me but I couldn't rely on her, she was a witch! No one should trust a witch! They could turn their back on you at any moment.
"Huh?" I reacted in shock. I didn't tell her to do that but she read my mind. "Thanks, mate. So about the assignment, we will submit this Friday?" I asked.
"What about it?" She asked me.
"I have no idea what to do Beauty, it's group work and nobody is helping," I said. Feeling sad.
"Save your breath. I did it for us already, we are getting an A." She said and I became excited.
I hugged her immediately. Well, I wasn't feeling nervous anymore. With a friend like that, my academic life will improve. Imagine me being a straight-A student? Mama would be so proud.
"You are the best," I said. "But I've got to go. I have somethings to do later this evening... with... some people... like... charity work." I laughed nervously. I guessed she knew I was lying.
"Okay bye. See you whenever." She blinked twice before leaving.
"Phew. That was a relief." I said as I watched her leave. I turned around and walked towards the gate but something caught my attention. There was an uncompleted building and a tall girl was walking inside. It looked fishy but that wasn't my problem at the time. I needed to meet up with Theo. That mother F has been calling me since yesterday. He just wouldn't stop calling.
My mind was already back to thinking about Chase. I also had to find him and try to find out what he knows or if he was pretending not to remember me and that's also when something miraculous happen as if the lord was on my side... the lord couldn't be on a Dhampir side but I believed in God even though I was immortal.
Chase and his friends were laughing and passing balls to one another as they walked out of the door. There were 5 of them including the blonde girl.
Don't know her name, don't care but she was everywhere. And I meant all-around Chase Parker.
I didn't see Chase in class today and didn't see her either. It's as if he was her shadow or something.
I stood there as she also laughed with them then I remember what she said yesterday about not flirting with her boyfriend.
Chase was mine first and funny how she was threatening a Queen. A Dhampir.
As far as I could remember, the last time someone threatened me, they ended up dead.
I could feel his eyes on me as I also stared back at him.
Our gazes meet.
We were distant away from one another but emotionally, I felt he was with me. Then he smirked and walked to his car with the blonde girl.
She has got to go. I frowned. She has to. I didn't like the way she was all around him.
I'm not a bad person but I hated when someone takes what was mine.
Chase was mine and he was still mine. The way he looked at me shows that he also remembers me or maybe he is trying to remember. I had to find a way to get him to remember me if he doesn't. I couldn't let him go away from me. We shared everything.
He was my first kiss, my first s*x, and even the first guy I gave my heart to.
He was my soul mate and when a Dhampir falls in love, it's forever and Chase was mine forever.
He meant the world to me and because of that tragedy that happened two years ago, he was out of my life for too long but now he is back.
