"No one's here, the bed is still warm. She can't be far away."
"We never are." A girl said as she came out to the open.
The man holds his gun firmly. And beside him is another man.
"Where did you come from witch?!!" He grunted as he tried to shoot her but instead she threw a knife to his leg and started to chant an incantation.
The man started to gasp as fire rounded him and the witch continued her chants and the fire increased.
The man entered the underground immediately, screaming.
She looked at the other man and walked on the fire to meet him.
He started to laugh. "I found him earlier and told him about the witch in the woods. Humans!!" He shook his head.
She turned to take off the fire. She smirked.
"You've proven yourself more worthy Olivia. We shall take you to sworn into the congregation but we have work to do first. There's been a disturbance."
"The hunters?" She asked.
"No, demons. They are out there and come out mostly at night." He replied.
"Isn't that the hunter's job?" She asked as she walked towards her home.
"They don't like us and we have to do this ourselves. The demons are killing our people so we have to clear them out at once. Come for the gathering tomorrow evening. I will send you the address."
"I will be there for the ritual."

I lay on my bed as I continued to stare at the ceiling. Chase was there. He was the one I saw. I was sure of that. I wasn't mistaken. He smiled and I knew it was Chase. Two people couldn't have looked so much alike and had the same smile. Not possible.
I heard a knock on my door.
Aggressively.
It was loud.
I stood up and took the umbrella beside my shoe rack and walked towards the door.
I hesitated before opening it.
I saw Theo the moment I tried to hit that umbrella on the head of the person knocking.
I sighed. "It's you," I said. Not happy but faked a smile.
He walked in. I checked the corridor if anyone saw him enter then I remembered I was the only one who could see him.
"What brings you to my dorm?" I asked as I walked to my bed. "You care for a drink?" I added and he shook his head. Wasn't concerned about me being nice to him.
"I came here because I found something interesting and it involves you," Theo said.
"And what is that?" I asked as I sat on my bed. I looked at him as he continued to talk.
"Inez Sivan... a dhampir and the Queen of Shadow world__ no wonder you could see me." He said. "You are this powerful but pretending. That was really smart."
I kept quiet for a few as I used my eyes to search the room to see if someone was spying. Only a superficial being could spy on us.
"I am a human and I don't believe in supernatural creatures," I said. "Supernatural creatures do not exist and demon hunters?" I scoffed. "That was very lame."
"But you saw me kill one yesterday." He made a point. I tried so hard to ignore what he said.
"What exactly do you want?" I asked. I didn't want him to spend more time in my room. Looking at him was suffocating me.
"I should be placing a sword on your throat right now." He said and I raised one of my brows. "I really should."
I looked away from him as he walked towards me.
"But I won't do and that is because you haven't placed a threat to my city. Yet. And I hope you won't." He said.
"I don't know why you are forcing a title I know nothing about on me. I am not a dhampir, I am a normal human who got lucky to see you. Now off you go." I said. Trying to control my anger. He was making things worse for me. My fangs were driving their way out of my mouth.
He walked towards the door and turned to look at me. "I know about your dead lover who died in other to save you. I don't think you worth it." He said and at that moment, I wanted to say something but it didn't want to come out, and there I was when tears started to roll down my cheeks and fell to my lips.
I sniffed as I cleaned it. "How do you know so much?" I asked as he took a seat next to my bed. "Who sent you to me? Who the f**k are you?!!!" I yelled at him.
"Nobody did. My job is to hunt creatures down but I guess there are a few good ones out there, like you." He smirked. But his words don't make me feel better.
"You couldn't have gotten information about me because I am not on the internet. Probably the council."
"You don't have to be on the internet. Do you know I also found out that you have a twin sister?" He smirked again. Now he was annoying.
"I'm not surprised. Now tell me why you are here. The truth."
He focused on me. "We need your help." He finally said.
"I'm a normal human in California. I came to this country to have peace of mind and I stop fighting demons a long time ago. I don't think I want to go back to that life. I can't deny the fact that I am a queen but I chose peace a long time ago. Why is it so hard to have those?" I asked. Frustrated.
"This country has more creatures than any other country does. I know that, so you picked the wrong place. My organization figured that you know things about them than we do and besides you are a queen. You mentioned that earlier. We want peace to reign here and if you want peace, you need to help us. Please think about it." He stood and left again.
"I am not going back to how I was. I swore on my lover's name." I placed my face down. "I can't do this again and lose someone that dares to me."
"He is alive and I sensed you have seen him too." He placed his hand on the doorknob.
"Just how much do you know?!!" I asked. I slowly brought my head up and before I looked up at him completely, he was already gone.
I ran to lock the door. I placed my back against it. Breathless. Angry. Really angry.
How much does he know? I tried so hard in erasing my past but I guess I couldn't.
How did he figure it out in just days? What else does he know?
I picked up my phone to dial Denise's number.
She didn't pick on the first ring and ended up picking before the second one could go off.
"Sweetheart." She said over the phone. Her voice was fading.
"Did I wake you up?" I asked.
"Kind of but what's up? Are you okay over there?" She asked. I could feel the concern in her voice.
"No, I'm not. I... I saw Chase today." I said. Couldn't control me from talking.
"What?!! That's not possible, we watched him die." She said.
"I don't know Denise but are we sure he died? Or could the witch really bring him back? She said if she brings him back, he won't remember me." I said to Denise.
"But he died before they could revive him so how is that possible. You are being paranoid, maybe you should get some sleep." Denise said over the phone.
"I'm serious Denise and there is a hunter here who knows everything about me, I don't know how but he knows about my identity. I'm scared Denise. He might do something. Something terrible. I know I shouldn't be scared but I am." I said to her.
She sighed over the phone. "You are a Queen Inez and you conquered every fear. Inez, you are the strongest person I know. A man threat can't break you down like this." She replied. Trying to give me courage again. Trying to boost my mural.
"He wants my help and there are also demons here. The ones I've never seen before. Scarier, huge."
I heard a knock on the door.
"Can I call you back? I think he is back" I said as I placed the phone on the bed.
"Open up Inez." I heard Ava's voice.
I exhaled slowly as I walked to open the door.
"I'm so sorry about earlier." She handed me a plate. "It's pie. Do u accept my apology?" She asked.
I nodded. "Yh I do. It's okay." I collected the pie.
"Thanks, let's hang out tonight with Owen and his friends. It will be fun."
"I'm sorry but I will be busy. I promise to call you when I'm done okay?" I said to her. I felt bad we couldn't spend a lot of time but I needed to do something about this hunter before he comes for me again.
"Okay." She said as she smiled at me. She walked to her room.
