Cameron was still in a trance. Something felt off with his little nephew...
“Come on, Cameron,” Cole pouted, “I really need to know...”
“Alright... okay. I’ll tell you. Just stop pulling at my shirt...”
...
“What?!” After hearing his mommy was trapped in the yard, Cole went completely panicked. Daddy was out of his mind! How could he just leave Mommy alone in there?
“It will probably take her years to get down from that mountain with those feet. Sheesh... Your dad does know how to make people suffer.”
Cole frowned, pondering about what to do next. But the housekeeper suddenly called them, saying the lunch had been prepared. Cameron’s eyes were lit up. Chase promised him a big meal. So he tapped on Cole’s head lightly, “We can discuss this after the meal. Let’s go eat now.”
“What are you gonna serve to treat me?” Cameron took Cole to the dining hall, sitting down across Chase.
“Seafood,” Chase answered curtly.
“Seafood?” Cameron raised an eyebrow, like crabs and lobsters? Nice! Cameron’s brows wiggled, turning to Cole with a big smile on his face, “You have to thank me for persuading your old man into buying us seafood, boy.”
“Oh... Okay...” Cole looked at his dad, who was half smiling at this moment, knowing it wouldn’t be easy.
“Mr. Cameron, please enjoy your meal,” one of the maids served the dish, opening the lid for Cameron.
"What the heck is this?" Cameron's mouth dropped open.
“Sea... Seaweed...” the maid stuttered.
“You... you call this seafood?”
“Is it not seafood?” Chase arched an eyebrow, fingers intertwined before his chin.
“Well... Technically...”
“Just finish your lunch and leave. By the way, this is just the appetizer. The course is all made of organic seaweed, freshly from the ocean.”
...
Cameron felt his face turn green from eating too much seaweed. Cole seemed indignant, "Uncle, Dad shouldn't have treated you that way."
Cameron huffed, “He shouldn’t. But he did it anyway...”
Cole put on a sneaky little smile, “Maybe we can find a way to get back at him.”
If he could get Cameron on board, Mommy would be saved!
“Like how?” Cameron looked interested. Cole beckoned him to bend down and lend him an ear. Cameron did so. And the boy just whispered something into his ear.
Cameron looked surprised after hearing that, “Cole... I... I’m not really sure about this... Besides, I have a feeling that you’re using me...”
Cole's cheeks puffed, "I knew you're scared of dad. That's a bit coward…"
"Don't you try to provoke me," Cameron pointed a finger at the boy, "It's useless. I'm too smart for your little trick."
Cole gave him a side-way look, "I'm not playing any tricks with you, seaweed man."
"……" Cameron felt bullied, "Don't you call me seaweed man…"
"Okay, Uncle Seaweed, have a nice day," Cole stuck his tongue before turning away and walking to the bedroom. Cameron was not useful. He needed to work out a solution with Kevin immediately.
After sharing the information with Kevin, the two genius boys both started to brainstorm.
"I really don't know what to do… We're too small to carry her. Adults won't help her because they're afraid of Chase… But… Can we at least send some food to her so she doesn't need to be starved?"
"Agree," Kevin nodded, "I'll send her food. You just stay in the bedroom and don't let other guys find you."
Cole said okay. Kevin was more familiar with the estate than he. He was the most suitable person to go. Kevin went to the kitchen and grabbed some food before sneaking into the backyard. When he approached the pond, he suddenly realized Cameron was on the mountain. It seemed like he was talking with Madam Dussa. Kevin wanted to hear what they were talking about. But before he could approach, Cameron suddenly lifted Lola up, carrying her down the mountain. Did he finally decide to lend a helping hand? Kevin was a bit surprised.
He thought for a pause and hid behind the rock. When they walked down the mountain, Cameron put Lola down. After saying something to her, he just left. Kevin only approached the woman now, "Are you okay?"
"Kevin?"
"Yeah… Why didn't he bring you back?"
"He didn't want your dad to know. Can you find something for me?"
