"VAL!" the screech jolted me out of my sleep. "What are you doing still sleeping!" Shayla shouted, jumping on my bed.
"Ugh," I groaned. I glanced over at my alarm clock 7 am. "Shayla, it's too early. Let me go back to sleep. "
"No, it's not. I have to get curlers in your hair. You need another face mask...." I tried to tune her out until she was finished babbling.
"Shay, it's 7 am the ball doesn't start till 6pm we don't have to leave here till 530 at the latest which means we don't have to start getting ready till 1 at the earliest. No, please let me sleep." I mumbled out.
"Sure..." it got silent, and I thought she had left the room. Ah, I can finally go back to sleep or so, I thought. "NOT!!" She shouted,"Get up, get up, get up, " she chanted. I finally gave in and got up. Maybe I will give her what she wants she will let me take a nap.
After what seemed hours of being poked and prodded. I finally was able to get a small nap. Shayla let me sleep for an hour while she went off and did her own things to start getting herself ready.
3pm
After my nap, I was starving the past few days I have felt like I couldn't get enough to eat. I still have the feeling that something big is about to happen. I slapped on a smile and continued getting ready with Shayla.
We decided to go to the park and take some photos before the ball. After we get our dresses on I didn't get the dress we saw in Classics before when we went in to get the dress I saw this beautiful multicolored dress it was very necked and one shoulder had a strap the other did not, it started at the breast area with tastful feathers that were orange and then as the dress went down it faded to purple about hip hight the feather faded into silk and pooled down at my feet the bottom faded between the colors of the rainbow.
Shaylas dress was a teal color that had small white flowers all over the skirt. The dress had puffy sleeves that hung off the shoulders.
They spent the next 2 hours at the park taking pictures.
It was time to head to the ball.
They made it to this beautiful, at least 3-story Whitish Grey Mansion. They pulled up to the main door, where the valet would take the car to park. Mr. And Mrs. Grey was outside creating guests.
"Good evening Val!" Mrs. Grey pulled me into a hug. It was oddly filled with warmth. "I'm so glad you could make it." She smiled as she pulled back. She glanced over to Shayla. "Is this your friend...Shayla?? you've been talking about?" She asked.
"Yes, Shayla, this is Mrs Grey. Mrs. Grey, this is Shayla." I gestured between the two.
"It's lovely to meet you." Mrs. Grey said, shaking hands. "Please call me Sarah, that goes for you to Val, at least when we aren't at work." She said, glancing over to me.
"Hi there, Val. I'm glad you could make it." Mr. Grey walked over to where we were standing next to his wife, smiling at me.
"Happy to be here. Mr. Grey, this is Shayla, Shayla. This is Mr. Grey" Dejavu set in for a second.
"Call me Elius when we aren't at work stuff." He said. "You girls have fun tonight."
They walked into the mansion. The mansion was decorated with black, white, and gold decorations everywhere. There were gold vases with white flowers and black swirl things coming out of them. To the left was an eating area with gold chairs, black table cloths, and white and gold center peices with candles. To the left was a beautiful party room that had black curtians and gold accents. I'm in awe as to how beautiful this place looks.
A nice aroma came through as people were going back and forth. Everyone looked so elegant in their outfits.
"OH my gosh, it is so pretty here." Shayla gasped beside me. "Let's do a walk around."
She pulled me in the directions she wanted to go.
We walked over to where there there were glasses of wine. I heard someone clear their voice behind us. I turned around to see Silas standing behind us.
"Val, it's lovely to see you again. You look beautiful." He smiled at me.
"Silas." I just greeted his with a nod.
"OH! Is that why you were mean to me at the library the other day?" He seemed shocked. "I'm not Silas, I'm Caden, the older twin." He held out his hand for me to shake.
"Nice to meet you, not to sound rude but please stay away from me, I don't need to have any problems with your parents or Silas being a jerk to me more than he is now." I said. I feel bad but I have to look out for myself. He took a step closer.
"But what if I don't want to stay away?" He asked. He smelled really good. I don't know where that comes from. He held out his hand, " How about a dance?" He asked.
I looked around for Shayla’s help, only to find her on the other side of the room talking to a group of people I didn't recognize.
"Fine one dance." I said placed my hand in his. I gasped as tingles shot up my arm from my hand. I glanced over at Caden, who was smiling, leading me to the ball room where couples were dancing. The song turned into a slow instrumental song. He placed one hand on my hip, the other on my lower back, pulling me closer to him. One dance turned to 3, as the 3rd song ended. Shayla ended up coming to interrupt us.
"Hey, can I steal my friend back?" She asked Caden.
We danced and chatted with a few people I knew from town. Hours flew by, and it was almost midnight Everytime i glanced over at Caden he would smile as big as he could. Silas was no where to be found thank gI had wondered out to the garden in the backyard.
"Hey I've been looking for you" Shayla’s voice chimed behind her. " It's 11:59 one minute to midnight." We stood there until her alarm went off at midnight. "Happy..." She glanced over at me. "Crap."
My skin felt like I was vibrating from the inside out. The wind picked up around me leaves, water from the fountain, and rocks were lifted in the air.
I didnt know what was happening.
Silas and Caden along with Mr. And Mrs. Grey came running outside.
I started freaking out. The more I freaked out the crazier the wind got that's when I realized everything was happening because of me.
