The girl looked scared and ran away.
The crowd left too.
But they forgot there was a camera in front of the door.
The next day, Victoria called to say she needed my help at the police station. I realised the girl was her friend.
I asked my friend to come with me. He is a lawyer. I asked him to help me with this case. We went to find Alexander to sign the divorce agreement.
At the police station, Alexander watched yesterday's surveillance footage.
I was vomiting blood and dying.
Victoria noticed me first. She pointed at me and shouted, "Look, she's still dating other men. She doesn't look like she's dying."
Alexander turned his head. "Who is he?"
I didn't explain. I sat down across from them with my friend following close behind.
At my maternity check-up, my doctor told me about a new immunotherapy that was safe for the foetus and suitable for me, although it was expensive.
I was happy. Who wouldn't want to live longer? But I didn’t have the money right now.
I remembered my parents left me 200,000 dollars when they died. I gave it to my husband because of the business.
He later wanted to return the money to me, but I felt bad for him and didn't accept it. I told him he could pay me back later, but it was never brought up again.
I took a taxi to his company, but was told that Alexander And Victoria went out to buy a bag.
I took another taxi to the mall. Alexander was drinking coffee in the waiting area. Victoria was nowhere to be seen. I walked across to him and sat down.
He raised his eyebrows, put down his coffee and sneered at me.
"So, you didn't want money back then, but now you're asking for it because you're trying to keep a guy?"
I took a deep breath and held my hand out.
"Where's the money ?"
He leans back, casual.
"Vicky wanted it, so I gave it to her."
I was so angry I slapped him. He had scratches on his face.
"Bastard!"
"Alex, are you OK?" Victoria rushed out and checked Alexander's face, looking at me angrily.
"Elizabeth, you're sick!"
I ignored her and put my hand in front of her.
"Give me back my bank card."
She threw the card at my feet.
"Just a lousy card, stopped working after a few handbag purchases. Hmph! You can have it back."
I picked up the card.
"Did you use up all the money on the card?"
"Hmph, it wasn't like it was a fortune or anything, who even cares!"
I got up, went to her and slapped her.
"That's my card, who gave you the right to spend the money in it?"
She stepped back when I hit her. She wanted to hit me back, but I smacked her again.
I was pushed out.
Alexander spoke coldly.
"Are you done with your nonsense?"
I felt a sharp pain in my belly and a hot stream rolled out from under me.
I sat on the ground, covering my belly. Something was peeling away from my heart.
"Blood!"
The clerk screamed and I looked down and saw blood.
"Lizzy, what's wrong with you?"
My body was held by Alexander, and he looked scared.
I let him hold me, the smell of tobacco on him filling my nostrils. Suddenly my stomach churned violently, and before he could say a word, I spat out a mouthful of blood.
He was covered in blood and looked shocked.
After spitting out blood, I lost consciousness.
In a haze, I heard him hissing my name.
"Lizzy! 911, call 911!"
