The Plot

Layla Whispercrest ... Alpha Jaxon sighed. The next thing I heard from him was a growl, that made me open my eyes coming to reality instantly. What was I doing? How in the world did I even find myself here? He was a beast. A monster with horns, something different, something I wasn’t used to. With these thoughts, I was about to make my way farther from him when he did me the favor of standing up first. “How?” he said, making me arch my brow at his words. For some reason, it seemed like it was another person saying those words. It was a different tone, an entirely different tone from the one he mentioned. “Alpha...” I let out. “Do me a favor,” he started. “Wear your clothes slowly, without showing me any skin. Next, stand up. As you face me, slowly go out.” “As you wish, Alpha.” I gulped before standing up about to do what he said. First off, I wore my tights, next to my underwear which was already ripped off by a certain someone. The instant I was fully dressed, I stared at the door which was a little ahead where he stood. It was a wooden entrance, created by the strongest of woods. “The thought,” he said. “Excuse me?” “The thought of you wearing every inch of that cloth is unbearing for my wolf. Could you as well be fast or I might not be able to control myself, Layla?” his throaty voice said, in a whisper making me nod. “O-Of course.” My motions became slow as he asked, I took a step, then another swaying to lead the direction with my back as he asked. Goddess knew my entire body was hyper, somewhat jittery and nervous from what will happen if I went against his words. “Common Layla, could you be any slow but fast?” His words murmured at me, making me look up at him. For the first time, I noticed his dark hair seemed a little cobalt blue and slightly devilish, I could however deny the fact that being pierced against his forehead like that, they indeed looked beautiful. Handsome, for Goddess’ worth, they say you don’t call a man beautiful. At this point, I was already closer to entrance. My wolf had directed me with my senses leading me through by sniffling the points I had to go to. “Brave, now slowly go out so my wolf isn’t triggered thinking this isn’t a game to chase you.” “Okay, Alpha.” My hands opened the door doing like he said, slowly stepping out with my back. I heard a growl from his chest and the last thing I saw were his cold dark eyes staring at me. Thankfully, the door slammed shut with my tug making me let out a sigh of relief. I untangled my hands away from it, walking down the hall and trying to find my room. As I took a turn by the hallway, I heard some set of voices whispering to each other. “She doesn’t suspect anything, does she?” “No, not all. I will lead her to the forest tonight, killing her so her mate is brought misery.” The first voice was unrecognizable, but the second was something that made me take my hand to my mouth. It sounded like the new maid’s Melody. “Alright, that sounds like a good plan. Make sure nothing goes wrong or you could lose your life.” “I won’t.” I desperately tried to make my way towards the closed entrance it came from just enough to peep through the keyhole. Without making a sound, I bent my head curiously. “Shh...” Melody murmured. “I think I smell something.” By this time, I had already confirmed that she was my personal maid and quickly I made my way away from there, towards a path that led on the same direction but a little farther below. I sniffled my way down, leading to the right-hand side, I took a turn towards my room relieved that I found it. The sooner I was in, I loitered around thinking about the fact that my personal maid whom I thought was my new friend was trying to kill me. How was this even possible? From what I heard it seemed Alpha Jaxon was their enemy. They were trying to get back at him through me. “What do I do, what should I do?” I said, wondering the next step. At the same time, I needed to leave this night, meanwhile I was so naïve to trust someone I shouldn’t. If I wasn’t careful, it would lead to my death. …. There were two guards positioned at the entrance of my door the next time I made a move to come out. “My Luna, allow us the honor of serving you,” one of them breathed out with a bow. “Yes, my Luna.” The second followed too, making me cringe my brows. “What’s this? Who assigned you here?” I said, asking. “The Alpha himself. He says we shouldn’t let you leave our sight 24/7. It’s a direct order and we resumed today.” “Oh, I see. You don’t have to worry at all about me.” I said, in the easiest way I could, they didn’t look convinced though. “I am just strolling to his quarters-“ “Then we will escort you there, my Luna!” They bowed in unison saying. If I thought of it, there was some good in this. Them being here meant I couldn’t leave this night; thus, I could pretend I didn’t even know anything about Melody. “Fine.” On getting to the Alpha's chambers, I made a move to knock when I heard, “Come in, mate.” He probably scented me beforehand, making me entirely embarrassed. The next thing I did was run away. “Where are you going, Luna?” The guards chased after me, asking. “Luna! Luna!” My hands went to the sides of my ears to block out the sound moving faster to any place except from there. I took multiple steps far off with an aim to hit outside at least, I closed my eyes using my scent to look for where led outside. It took a while to smell it, but when I did it was as fresh as a daisy. The bare sand. Fresh leaves. The smell of budding flowers. Happily, I traced the scent only to be met with the blue sky ahead of me. I saw a doorway, immediately going through towards the pack members. The pups were mostly the ones younger, for some reason the teenagers and adolescents were not in sight. The women were nurturing flowers and plants, with pleasant smiles on their faces. I stopped in my spot admiring them making the guards catch up with me. “These are the pack members,” one of them said. “The Alpha specially told us to keep you away till it was time for your coronation.” “So, I shouldn’t be here, right?” I asked to clear all confusion. “I’m not sure you should, my Luna.” The second made out, making me nod. “Alright, I will go in but I want to request that something is done in the meantime.” I said. “I need information on my personal assistant, Melody.” “As you wish. I will have it done as swift as possible and return back.” Throughout my life, I’ve been used to a ruler subject position so it was nothing new. As the Alpha’s daughter, there were some excesses I checked when things weren’t in order with the folks. I also helped when mum and dad traveled or were extremely busy with other parts. It didn’t mean I could let certain things go, like my own personal maid plotting to murder me. I was kidnapped by the Alpha of this pack, a monster I couldn’t even bring myself to accept yet it didn’t mean I’ll sit around doing nothing.
