Sweet Destiny

Chapter 4

Ms.Knight placed Alex on the counter and pulled something out from under it " Okay Alex, so If you are gonna be my assistant for today, you will need your uniform".

Alex looked confused as Ms.Knight brought out a small apron and a cap, he cheered and immediately put on the uniform. Ms.Knight couldn't resist taking a photo of both of them together.

" Are you sure about this Miss Knight?". Mr Kingston asked

" Of course, he is my baby boy"

"Okay if any thing comes up or if it gets too much for you, don't hesitate to call me okay?".

"Okay" She agreed and stereed me towards the door " I think it's time for you to go, so t you will not get late to work"

I chuckled and left the both of them to their devices.i had a feeling that Ms.Knight wanted to get enough time with Alex and want really concerned about me getting late to work and that made me so happy. I could see it in her eyes that she really cared about Alex more than any woman I have ever dated. More than Hailey..............

I shoved the thoughts of Hailey out of my mind and made my way to my office. I hoped she would come around because I really wanted her to like Alex.

It would have been so much better if Hailey liked Alex or at least liked him like Anita did or even more than, it would have made me happy.

" Alright Mr Kingston what will you like me to do first?" I said jokingly to Alex.

" Let's make chocolate cookies" he said grinning .

I laughed, cookies seemed to be the only thing on this boy mind since I met him. He liked chocolate but I liked cupcake more, so we both assisted each other in making our favourites and decorated the cupcakes with chocolate frosting.

Customers started coming in and Alex tried selling his Sweet tasty cookies as he called it. He stood at the counter, but since he couldn't reach the top of the counter I had to place a chair under his leg for him to stand on. Most of the people he advertised his cookies to didn't buy it, but some bought 1 or 2 pieces and also made sure to drop complicate about his handsomeness and cuteness making him blush.

Alex turned out to be a great sales person and sometimes even attracting people with his cuteness. No one could say no to his cute pouting face and that worked to his favour. At the end of the day I ended up making triple of what I made on a normal day.

Alex is awesome, he is my lucky charm.

Mr Kingston finally returned to pick up Alex while me and Alex were busy baking another batch of Alex's sweet tasty cookies with the both of us covered in baking flour. He had sold all of his cookies and wanted to make another batch for him and his dad.

" Alex" He called out

"Mr kingston, you can come in". I called out

Mr.Kingston entered and his jaw dropped when he saw the both of us. We were both covered in flour from head to toe.

" Look dad, I'm making cookies for you and me" Alex cheered.

" Wow, that very nice of you son".

I chuckled a little bit at that and Mr Kingston and Alex eyes snapped to me. I just shrugged while still chuckling. Alex was still looking back and forth between me and his dad and I burst out laughing with Alex joining me while Mr Kingston just sterred at us as if we were crazy.

"So sorry" I said chocking on my laughter

"Sorry".

There was still tears coming out of my eyes from laughing too much and I wiped them away forgetting about the flour on my hands.

Me Kingston smirked and came unto me while taking the towel from the counter. I aosta chocked on my breath when he came very close to me making the room temperature ×10 hotter than it was.

He stared in my eyes as he helped me clean the flour on my face making my face turn very red.

"You had a little something there" he said and moved away snapping me out of my fantasy.

" Thank you" I mumbled back blushing.

Mr Kingston moved onto Alex and helped in dust all the flour on his body.

"Did you have fun?" He asked.

" Yes, I had soooooo much fun" he exclaimed" and I sold all my cookies".

"Really?" Mr Kingston asked while raising one of his eyebrows making him look more attractive. I've always loved it when people could do that.

" it's very true, nobody could say no to his handsomeness"

" Now I know that is true" Mr Kingston said and I giggled a bit.

He continued to clean Alex up while I helped him box up his cookies to take home.

" Here you go" I said handing the box to Alex

" At this rate I'm going to get addicted".

I giggled, and his eyes one again snapped to mine " I apologise"

" ohhh, I think I can live through that Ms.knight".

I smiled at him" Please, you can call me Anita".

" That's only if you agree to call me Xander".

" Okay.....Mr...Xander".

I liked the feeling of his name on my tongue and the way it rolled off it, and from his smiles I could tell he did too".

"Bye Xander, Bye Alex"

"Bye Anita".

Xander and Alex disappeared through the door and I found my self sighing already feeling the boredom creeping in.Why you may ask? I don't know I just felt at peace with Mr.Ki....... Xander and Alex.

And even though I've lived my entire life all by myself, I haven't felt this lonely in years.

With a sigh, I took a rag and started cleaning up the bakery so I could go and rest at home and may be drown my loneliness in a pint of ice cream. I made a mindnote to stop at the store so as to get my one and only Cookies n' cream ice cream, I need it on nights like this , nights when loneliness creep in.
