Work, Work, and oh I’m a dragon

337 Words
Present Day I was sent out of my memories from a large bulldozer outside. Currently I’m in my office on the vineyard estate, which is about a 30 minute drive from my home.  There’s work being done because we needed to expand the warehouses on the property due to the booming of sales we had recently. Around the time of Christmas sales go through the roof because everyone loves a good red during the holidays. Trust me, I would know. Right about now you’re wondering a few things, including my heritage, Mathew’s father and so forth, all of which I will get to. Eventually. However, I must express one thing, the world we, or I, live in today is very different from the one I grew up in. Supernaturals are mostly extinct or in hiding, and no there are no werewolves who even makes this up? Anyway, most creatures besides humans fear discovery, and either blend in or die trying because the humans find them and use them for experimentation. The reason I’m able to restrain my own identity and my son’s is because we are the only one’s left of my kind. No human has ever experimented on a dragon therefore they know nothing of us. Even so, the fear of discovering creeps into my mind occasionally, but passes. I stare at my Apple Watch and see it’s around 3 so I pack up some work to take home and go down stairs where I’m greeted by the groundskeeper and a few employees of mine. “Hello Ms Grennolgi, heading home?”  “Yes Bernard, make sure you double check the construction before you leave today please, thank you” “No problem, goodbye Miss.” Bernard said as I walked out the door. He was my head on security because he’s the only one I trust with such a job. And he has never disappointed.
