*AUGUSTUS*
I left out in a rage as to why I wasn't informed of him being moved....
I matched up to his room, ready to confront the head nurse that was taken care of by the man I call my father. I busted in the room almost causing one of the maids to drop what I assume is a bowl of water.
The head maid just looked at me and went on about her business, wiping the sweat off my father's forehead. I looked at her in shock as she seemed utterly unbothered by my sudden intrusion.
"Leave" I growled to the other helpers. She began to move and I had a clear view of my father, who looked sick and on the verge of death. I cringed at how he looked.
I noticed she was leaving out and I pointed in her direction. "You stay!" I growled once again and she stopped and bowed. I was surprised at her calmness. I watched everyone leave and the door shut closed.
"How can I .." I cut her off
"Don't ask that question.." I hated that question.. "Why was my father removed from the hospital without my consent?" I got straight to the point.
"Someone else requested his change of rooms, so the Alpha can be more comfortable." I laughed at the maids face. Knowing that there isn't anyone else that is able to order that without my consent. Not even Flora...
"But no one else has that authority to go around me and move my father without my knowledge or consent." I looked at her suspicious
"I'm sorry sir, that's all I know." She tried to walk around me but I caught her by the hair and throat. She struggled as I lifted her off the ground.
"If you're lying to me, I will have your head." I released her, dropping her to the ground.
"I am telling the truth, clearly someone around here has more authority than you.." She coughed gasping for breath.
"You will watch you time when you address me." I said as I let my alpha aura out causing her to whimper and bow. I thought about her words and.. nobody has that right but the King himself or my.. my mother.
I left the room and walked down the hall to my mother's resting place.. My father had her moved after she fell ill. I stopped at the door not wanting to enter the room I always dreaded going in. I hated seeing my mother like this. I pushed the door open, still fighting the urge to turn around.
I entered the room and it was empty, I walked over to the bed where my mother was sleeping peacefully. Her face had color and her hair seemed to grow back with more fullness to it. I looked at her in awe, not remembering the last time her breathing was even or her face didn't look pale. I walked up to her and pushed her hair out of her face, noticing her skin was warm. She used to feel cold. I couldn't believe it, I wondered how this was even possible.
She suddenly grabbed my arm and something hit me with full force. It was like a blast from an unseen object. Making me almost lose my footing.
"Your mate.. your sister wants her dead... find her, accept her other mate and you both must Mark her. Please she is the key to your destiny." She coughed and I handed her some water. "Find Her" And with that she collapsed. I caught the water and sat it back on the dresser.
I stepped back, almost losing my balance once again. My head was spinning. I needed to sit down. I left, returning to an empty office. I sat down, grabbing a piece of paper. Writing down everything that was just told to me in the last hour.
After I went over what I wrote, I sat back and started processing everything. Also noting that my father got hurt and my mother seems to be getting better. but why?
"Remember those books we use to read in fathers study when you snuck in there as a teenager?" my wolf Xlo asks
"The energy one's? What about them?"
"Well that force that you felt earlier, your mother sent a hidden message through that force of energy."
"What are you saying?"
"Huh.. I'm saying that your father has her under some kind of energy manipulation."
"Could my father be that cruel? I couldn't seem to wrap my head around it"
"Well wrap it, you noticed it years ago but you pushed it to the side because you didn't want to believe it then. Now it's come to you once more and here you are, denying it."
"You're right, I need to do something"
"Find the book" He says and rushed to my father's studies. Digging through his bookshelf but I couldn't find it. So I looked through his desk and came across a locked compartment. I ripped it open and there it was. The Book of impossibles. I opened it to the bookmarked page and started to read.
"The spell reads that by mating with her once a month." I instantly cringed at the thought because my mother is ill.
"So he keeps telling everyone but I can see a spell binding her but is being lifted as well. "My wolf says "The message she sent was that she had a traumatic event happen before he figured out a way to take energy from her. Other than that she would have healed faster. Still normal and loved but his spell would've been detected by her and he knew it. She is quite powerful ya know. So he waited or more so initiated for her to be at her weakest and attacked." I bawled my fist.
"What do you mean?" I growled
"Energy.. The very thing that makes you, you. It fuels his and everyone loves him because he is wearing her field. Remember everyone hated him until three days after your mother became ill. I thought back to when I was younger and everyone was always rude to him and never respected him as an Alpha. "By her seeming ill like she's dying. She's actually depressed. Not knowing where her energy went or maybe she did but couldn't do anything about it until he had a slip up with the Queen the other day." I fell to my knees at the thought of my mother being his energy source.
"Tell me everything you see in her energy." I focused on her face, visioning her in my thoughts.
"I can only see that when she had a traumatic episode, he took his chance. Although with him not being able to feed on her this month after being put in the hospital by the Queen. Your mother seems to have taken her energy back from him. Finding it once again."
A sigh of relief came over me "When we were in the room I saw that he had no wolf. I didn't understand it then but.." He signed "by him being wounded he is having trouble recovering because he's so used to her energy and not his own.. It's like his wolf went dormant after he started to feed on her."
I relaxed knowing my father was nothing but a weak human. Faking like he was a strong Alpha. When all he was using was my mother's energy. I will leave him for later but will have guards stand at my mother's door. No one can enter her room but me and her maids.
"How can we fully free her?" I continued to read "It says that she would have to reject him or he would have to die.
"Let's get her strong enough to reject him fully" I nodded. Satisfied with the solution. I took the book and started to walk out.
"But what about the Jade wolf and Malador?" My wolf reminded me as I walked back to my office.
"I will have to put that on the back line. Hopefully nothing happens while I'm gone." I reached my office, closed the door and poured a glass of Scotch but before I could sit a knocked sounded at the door. "Come in" I sighed
"Sir something's happened with your sister?" An warrior rushed in
"What is it now?" I grumbled
"She's missing sir.."
