It is worse than bad

1068 Words
The fear that Bella had long forgotten over the night finally resurfaced and her heart began to hammer in her chest. “I don't belong to Damon.” She mumbled, taking two small steps backward. “Well, that's not a problem. Once I take you back, and he confirms that you are not his, then you are free to go.” Neron said, staring at her. The air in the hallway suddenly felt suffocating as Bella tried to breathe, and her breath got heavy by the second. “What's going on?” Neron mumbled, grabbing the left side of his chest and squeezing his shirt. He felt out of breath as he watched Bella struggled to breathe. Then she gazed into his eyes and tears began to run down her face. “Don't take me back.” Bella cried, holding in her breath. Terror washed over her, raising the fine hairs on the back of her neck and she could hear her heartbeat pounding in her ears. “You are having a panic attack. You need to breathe. If you don't, you are going to kill both of us.” Neron said, trying to get a hold of Bella's hand. But she took a step back and screamed, “I don't want to be a payment for my father's debt. I was stupid to offer myself to him. If you take me back to Damon, I will have to pay with my body. Please don't take me back.” A look of confusion settled on Neron’s face as he watched the tears pour down her chin. “Fine, I won't take you back. Now exhale softly.” Neron said, gazing deep into her eyes. At this point, Bella was so scared that she was hardly breathing at all.  In that instant, Neron took a step toward her and when her gaze met his eyes, she frowned. “You are lying,” Bella shouted, pressing her lips together as she held in her breath. After a few minutes, she felt light-headed and dizzy, but she refused to exhale when she noticed that Neron was having the same reaction as her. “Breathe please,” Neron said, ushering his red eyes shut. When he finally raised his eyelids, he watched Bella fall to the ground, then his vision grew blurry and he collapsed to the floor. Nora was upstairs, cleaning Neron’s bedroom when she heard the echoes of their argument on the fifth floor. However, after listening for a while and hearing nothing, she left the room and headed downstairs to check. “Master!” Nora cried when she reached the bottom of the stairs and saw Neron and Bella laying flat on the ground. Feeling a rise of fear and panic, she reached for the telephone and made a call. “Sir, Isuzu. Master has fainted!” Nora cried, gazing at Neron with tears in her eyes. “I'm on my way.” Isuzu's voice echoed from the speakers. Within less than fifteen minutes, Nora heard the whispering of the wind, and she hurried to open the door. “You shifted?” Nora mumbled, staring wide-eyed at a dragon with leafy wings and thorns growing from its claws and green scales body, standing in the yard.  Then she watched as it shifted into a human form and entered the house. “The elders wouldn't be happy about this, sir. You shifted in broad daylight and the Master brought in a human.” Nora cried, walking closely behind him. “Well, they wouldn't know if you don't tell them. You didn't call them, right?” Isuzu asked, glaring at her. “Of course not, sir. I know how my master hates the elders meddling in his business.” “Good. Now we have to get them off the floor and into a room.” It took Isuzu and Nora a while to carry Bella and Neron upstairs and into one of the guest rooms. Once Isuzu had laid Neron on the bed, he took his hand in his and connected with the life force, using his every strength to channel the heal energy through Neron's body. When his eyes shifted from grey to green, he stared wide-eyed at Neron's unconscious body and frowned. “It didn't work? I gave it my all. Why didn't it work.” Isuzu mumbled, scratching the back of his head. “What now?” Nora cried, clapping her hand over her mouth. “Do you know what happened before the two of them turned out like this?” Isuzu said, anxiously gazing at Nora. “Well, my master planned to take her back to Damon today. But she kept saying that she didn't want to go back, and later, I heard him telling her to breathe. Then it grew silent.” “So, the problem is from her.” Feeling a bit hopeful, Isuzu walked over to Bella and held her hand. Then he squeezed his eyelids shut for a moment before focusing his grey eyes on her. “I don't want to go back.” Bella cried, struggling to pull her hand out of Isuzu's grip with her eyes close. Holding tightly onto her hand, he gazed away from Bella, stared at Neron, and saw him slightly shook his head as he struggled in his sleep. “Ooh, this is trouble. We got to call the elders now!” Isuzu shouted, letting go of Bella's hand. After pacing around the room for a few seconds while slowly rubbing the back of his neck, he finally gained the courage to take out his phone and dial elder Shane's number. When elder Shane answer the call, Isuzu drew a sharp breath and said, "The king is unconscious and he won't wake up." "What do you mean by Neron is unconscious?! What happened?" Elder Shane's loud voice echoed into his ear, causing Isuzu to withdraw the phone from his head. "He found his mate, and she's a human. She lighted up his cord, and now he's unconscious because she is." "Why didn't you tell us the moment he found her. Do you know the danger he is in because of this?" "It can't be that bad, right?" "Bad' is an understatement for this situation. It is worse than bad. I'm calling the other elders. We will be there soon. Don't leave his side!"
