Found Her

Dominic's POV~

I have been informed that two rogues are held hostage in the prison for traspasing the royal territory. However, one if them is pretty injured so Joseph has asked Harper to take care of the rogue. On the other hand, I am going to interrogate the rogue which is still locked up in the cell.

I am already on my way to the prison when my wolf, Zachary starts pacing back and forth in distress. He is usually a very calm wolf but seeing him in this situation is putting unnecessary thoughts in my mind.

"What's wrong with you?" I ask through our special mind link.

"I need you to reach the prison soon." He replies which makes me more confused.

"Okay, I am going there. But why are you seem so tensed?" I ask while signalling the warriors to open the gate of the prison.

"I don't know exactly but I have a feeling that our mate is there." He replies with a snarl when the smell of rotten eggs hit our nose.

However, soon the bad smell gets replaced by the smell of jasmine mixed with strawberry which has me rushing inside. I think Zachary is not wrong assuming about our mate because now I also think the same. But the sight that beholds in front of me make both I and Zachary pissed.

One of the warriors has his hand wrapped around a frail looking girl's throat who is trying to break free from the warrior. But I don't think she is able to do that seeing the way her face is loosing all the colors. When I notice the shewolf struggle and losing her battle against the warrior, I grab the warrior by the back of his neck and smash his head into the concrete wall. Instantly, blood oozes out of his head but I know that he is not dead yet. However, right now I need to tend to mate and then I will kill the warrior so painfully that everyone will remember not to cross my mate.

"Get out of my sight." I order the warriors who scurry away leaving me alone.

That's when I look at the small body which is lying on the floor naked. I take off my shirt quickly and put it over her cold body before picking her up in my arms. Instantly, sparks flow through my body making my assumption correct that she is indeed my mate.

But her battered body is something that is not sitting well with me. I don't think my warriors have hurt her this badly but it is not the time to dwell on that matter. I need to take her to the infirmary because she needs medical care. So, without wasting any time I walk out of the prison straight to the infirmary where I know Harper is.

"What on earth happens to her?" Harper asks as soon as I walk inside the emergency room.

"I will tell you everything later. But right now I want you to take care of her." I reply making her nod her head quickly.

"Your Highness. You have to step aside for me to attend her." Her voice is pleading.

"No! I am not leaving her!" I bark holding onto my mate.

"Dominic, please you need to step back." She pleads further but I ignore her and look down at my mate whose body is getting colder.

The mate I have been trying to find is now in front of me. But I have never thought that our first encounter will be this way. I move my hand to her neck and feel it. There is no pulse, so I do it again but still no pulse.

"You have got to do something!" I growl at Harper.

"She is losing so much blood, she has no pulse! Save her right now." I let out in fright.

"That's why I am telling you to step aside for her sake." This time I reluctantly withdraw my hands and step back as Harper immediately hovers around my mate along with her helpers to work their magic.

I can't keep standing here to see them try to revive her. I have to leave and that's what I do. I walk out of the emergency unit hoping that she will survive as I don't want to lose her.

Till Harper does her work, I decide to go and speak to the warriors who dared to hurt my little mate. I have always told them to be respectful toward women yet they decided to go against my rule. Not only that, but because of them my mate is fighting for her life.

I walk straight to the prison cell where I have ordered Joseph to put the warriors who were harming my mate. Without giving them any chance to speak, I break two of their necks in my fit of anger.

"Did you really think that it will be okay to hurt my mate?" I growl aloud making the remaining ones tremble in their places.

"B-u-t w-e did-no-t kn-ow ab-ou-t que-en." One of them replies with stutter.

"It doesn't mean that you have any right to punish a vulnerable person without asking about their reasons for trespassing. I am not a simple alpha, I am the Alpha King and you are royal warriors so you guys should have shown a bit morality toward the poor girl. Didn't you see the marks on her body when shift back? Are you guys blind?" I yell but this time none of them have any answer to provide.

"Keep in mind that if by any chance my mate doesn't wake up then I will not let any of you sleep for even a second." I warn while holding back Zachary who is ready to tear the ones who have hurt our precious little mate.

I quickly walk toward the infirmary as it's been already three hours. Thankfully, Harper is already talking with Joseph when I reach there.

"How is she?" I ask worriedly.

"Dominic, first I need you to calm down because whatever I am going to tell you won't be easy to digest." Harper replies looking nervous and Joseph is standing beside her as if to protect her.

"Okay, I am calm. Now please tell me how is my mate." I let out.

"She has a lot of old, new scars all over her body. So, I think from wherever she had come from she has been abused very badly. However, we can only see the physical scars but not the mental ones. I will suggest you to be patient with her and try to understand her from the inside." I clench my fists to control myself from destroying everything around me.

"I want to hunt down those who have hurt our mate." Zachary, my wolf says and I can't agree more.

"We will but for now, we need to look after our little mate." I reply before looking at Harper.

"How is she now? Can I meet her?" I ask.

"She needs to be under observation for at least 48 hours and also, she has turned into her wolf form in the middle of us checking her. I think her wolf is trying to protect her so when you go inside, you will find her wolf form instead of her human form." Harper replies while Joseph put his hands on my shoulder.

"Our queen is very strong so you should not worry much. Oh, by the way the shewolf who came with the queen is the mate of Adam." Joseph says surprising me.

"Really?" Harper asks looking excited.

"Yes, he mind linked me a few minutes ago. He has taken her to his bedroom for rest." Joseph replies.

"It's good to know." I let out before taking my leave from them and walk inside the room where my mate is resting.

I know that this story is completely messed up and you guys are very angry with me. You have the right to be angry with me as I am not doing a good job of being a writer.

When I first started to write this story I was very excited but then my private life became too much trouble that I didn't get time to concentrate on this story. Believe me, I tried very hard to get back on track with this story but alas, I couldn't do it.

So, with a heavy heart I want to let you know that I am putting this story on hold for a few months. However, it doesn't mean that I am going to abandon it. I have already started to edit the chapters which are repeated and when every chapter will be edited, I will republish them again.
