Chapter Five: Pranked

Kylie's P.O.V

The Last couple days weren’t anything special, I went to all my classes, hung out with Casey and Roman then went to the pack house. It was fun, I think I was really becoming apart of their group. I think Isaac is avoiding me but I guess I don’t mind it, I’m not going to stress over him. I like him a lot but I don’t want to force things, we’re mates, we'll be drawn to each other naturally. At least that’s what I’ve been told my whole life about mates.

The school day just ended so I walked to the pack house and when I opened the door to my room about half the girls in the pack who lived in this house were there. It didn’t make any sense so I thought the worst and I nervously waved to them. “Hey what’s up?” I thought maybe if I was nice they’d rethink whatever they were doing or going to do it but I was wrong.

Bay stepped towards me away from the group. “Elf.” I guess that was her name for me now, real creative. “You've been here for almost a week and we nearly forgot to welcome you.” She smirked and I knew exactly what was coming.

Each girl shifted into their wolf form, they were big wolves, not nearly the size of me in my dragon form but bigger than an actual wolf. They wouldn’t be a threat if I shifted but I didn’t want anyone to know about that.”That’s okay, we can skip that and just talk, braid each other's hair maybe? Magic makeovers anyone…?” I suggested then jumped aside when one of the girls launched herself at me. I ran out the room, they chased me all the way down the stairs and out the pack dormitory. I tripped and fell into mud and suddenly all I heard was laughter. I looked up and saw Bay and other girls in their human forms laughing at me with some of the guys who were around at the time. I stood up and if I'm being honest I was holding back tears, it was terrible. 

I tried to keep myself together, I didn’t say anything to Bay, I didn’t want to give them the satisfaction. When I got back into my room there was Isaac. “Does a lock mean nothing?” I snapped. 

He was messing with my bag but I was too upset about what happened to tell him to stop. When he looked at me he seemed concerned. “What happened?”

I walked to my bathroom to grab a towel to wipe the mud off. “Bay and the other girls, welcoming me.” He grabbed the towel from me and wiped me down which was sweet of him. I showered and when I got out Twenty minutes later he was still there. 

“Maybe you should leave…” I was sad and I showed it, I was trying to walk past him but he grabbed me and pulled me to his chest. Hugging wasn’t something we’ve ever done, it felt like pure bliss. 

“Don’t take it too personal, everyone gets welcomed with a prank. Yours was just a bit worse because-”

“I’m different.” It’s not something I wasn't used to, back at home as a hybrid I was always different no matter If  I was with elves or dragon-Shifters, I was still different.

He pulled away from the hug. “I was in here because I needed somewhere to stay again tonight.”

“No” I went across the room to my bag to see if he messed with anything. “You’re leading me on Isaac, that’s obvious.”

I heard Isaac getting on my bed. “I’m not. I thought you realized it when you found out I was an alpha heir. The reason I don’t want anyone to know we’re mates or for us to be together is because it’d be hell for you. It’d be better for them to know when I actually become Alpha. But that doesn’t mean you aren’t still mine.” I couldn't help but blush.

I felt good from him calling me his but then I saw the flower Roman gave me was gone, I put it in a magic bubble to preserve it. “Why?” I was waiting for his reason before I mentioned the flower.

“The girls messed with you because you’re an elf in our pack, well if they knew you were a elf who would be their Luna they’d hate that, jealousy and stuff. They’d think hey deserve it more and make your life hell while they still could, before you had power over them. Maybe try to drive you out the pack so one of them could be my second chance mate.” Second chance mate, pretty much what the name implies, if you lose your mate from rejection or death you get a second chance.

I crossed my arms and looked directly in his eyes walking forward. “Okay, so what about my flower Isaac? What excuse do you have for that?”

Instantly he got up and walked to the door. “I’ll find somewhere else to sleep.” He left without giving my flower back or mentioning it, I secretly hoped to myself he’s come back with the flower and an apology but that didn’t happen.

Morning

As soon I woke up, I left to apologize to Isaac even though he was the one in the wrong. I decided to take a shower first in the dorm showers instead of my own because the hot water wasn’t working. When I was done I reached for my clothes on the rack outside of the shower stall but it was gone. I guess the welcoming wasn’t over. Lucky for me I’m half dragon. I walked out the stall and blew up some fire breath near the fire detector and the water came down from the ceiling and everyone evacuated the second floor. I walked out the restroom covering myself and no one I noticed saw me leave. 

I got dressed as soon as I got in my room but when I walked the halls, everyone was whispering about what just happened. The whole house knew which didn’t surprise me, Bay and her friends must have told everyone.

I walked downstairs and saw Isaac and some other guy in the middle of a crowd of people. “Isaac look chill, why do you care so much? The elf was the one running around streaking, it’s not my fault I got a free show i-” Isaac threw a really hard punch of the guy, If he wasn’t alpha heir a fight could have broke out but the guy submitted.

Isaac gave all the other guys a warning look and then left, I ran after him. I guess he didn’t want guys talking about his mate that way. “Isaac!” I caught up to him. “Thanks for that.” I told him the whole story but said I used magic for the fire instead of my breath.

“No problem, so you committed arson?” We both laughed a little. “You know since I hit a member of our pack I’m gonna have to hide out in your room tonight right?”

I didn’t mind that, I think I was actually learning the type of man my mate was, I couldn’t wait to learn more.
