Chapter Four: Different Worlds

1233 Words
Isaac’s P.O.V I couldn't wait for this to be over, everyone was staring at me which I can’t say I’m not used to because I’m a hybrid and the alpha’s son. The problem was my mate was just so distracting so I’m not sure how the hell I was going to focus on being in charge with her around. This wasn’t the first semester I was in charge of the schools pack house, the second semester of every year the student alpha did this. Since I’m going to be the actual alpha of the pack I was the student alpha every year since freshman year.  After the meeting I waited for everyone to clear out then I went into my mate’s room. “Kylie.”  She looked at me with the cutest expression, just like she has ever since we met yesterday. “Hi Isaac, I don’t want to be late for my first day but I did want to talk to you.”  What I learned I had to do around Kylie was to just ignore her scent and it helped a lot, otherwise I’d claim her right here right now. “I can’t walk with you if that’s what you're suggesting." Either way, she was going to get claimed at one point, it just couldn’t be now. “Sorry alpha maybe I should just drop everything for you and then you could just leave without saying a word in the morning.” She never got sarcastic with me before, I had pegged her for the shy and quiet type but I was wrong, she was just holding ack till she got upset. “So what? Yeah I didn’t tell you I’m the son of the alpha or is it because I left this morning.” I didn’t give her my excuse, it was because she looked peaceful asleep and my dad needed me up early. “I don’t care about the alpha thing.” She fixed her skirt and tried walking past me but I blocked the door and growled. “Take it off.” I ordered. “Now” I said with my eyes on her skirt. She just laughed annoyed. “Isaac...” She scuffed then pouted and it was the cutest thing a girl had ever done with me around. “You’re joking, come on just let it be please, it’s not even that short.” I just didn’t say anything or move. “Fine.” She felt the end of the skirt and it grew another inch longer. “Happy?” “Another inch.” It did surprise me a little that she used magic that way but elves control nature and her skirt is probably made from a completely natural material. I already know some guys in the pack might try something with Kylie, just to brag about sleeping with an elf. I don’t want that kind of attention for her and a longer skirt might keep eyes off her for now. She frowned but still made it another inch longer and I moved aside. “How romantic.” As she passed me I couldn’t help but take in her scent, just for a second. “Damn.” I whispered. Maybe she’ll make it shorter again for me at some point. I left about 10 minutes after her and Bay was the first person I saw, unfortunately not everyone was out the house yet. “Isaac, hey what’re you doing in that elf’s room?" Sure Bay didn’t know Kylie was my mate, I can give her another chance since she doesn’t know she insulted my mate. “Bay not now.” I warned.  The halls were empty now, we were the only two still in the building. “You gave the Alpha my note?” She changed the subject to what she really wanted to talk to me about. “My father said it’s not going to be possible.” I answered plain and simply. “But I don’t see why not.” Bay’s family was struggling, my father has done just bout everything he could for them. Whatever they asked of him, he made sure to deliver. He turned down her request this time but for good reason. She grabbed my arm to stop me from walking so I stopped. “Isaac please just talk to him, how long have we been friends?” Guilt is what she was playing at, suddenly it felt colder in the hall. “Bay, you know my father doesn’t listen to me. Move on.” I was about to walk but she tightened her grip on my arm and looked up at me. “I’ll owe you one.” She suggested sensually but I wasn’t really looking for that kind of fun anymore, not since yesterday. Plus we were best friends, she was just getting desperate. I moved her arm without answering and left the building, there wasn’t anything I could do for her, her request was just too big. Kylie’s P.O.V When I walked into the school I went straight to my class, Isaac wasted any time I had to go to my locker or anything like that. I miss home but there’s something other than my mate keeping me here. Turns out I was the last one in the classroom meaning all eyes were on me. I got to my seat which Casey saved for me. This was our homeroom but also history, not world history, non human history so the class didn’t have humans, just werewolves and all different kinds of magic users, so everyone who had a problem with each other. I soon realized the class was divided, wolves were in the front of the class, witches/warlocks at the back left and magic users at the back right. I was really getting sick of this divide, it reminded me of when I was younger, the divide between both my species and the divide within myself. Someone tapped on my shoulder and I turned around. It was a boy I never saw before. “Hi?”  “I’m Roman, you’re an elf, it's nice to meet you.” He smiled kindly. “I’m a sorcerer.” he mumbled something under his breath and a flower appeared in his had. “Want it?” I gasped and took it right away. “Wow this is a Tulii, they only grows in the south, the south of my homeland where I’m from.” “Roman stop showing off.” Casey joined in. “Don’t fall for the age old sorcerer pick up spell, they do a cute flashy and sometimes thoughtful spell for a girl to pick them up, it’s sick.” Roman laughed. “It worked on you.” She wasn't happy with his response. “Well we’re not together anymore so it doesn’t count.” She argued. I was still happy about my gift, I heard a voice that made me hear static in my ears, must be Isaac. “Isaac, you’re not in this homeroom.” The teacher pointed out.  Isaac handed her a piece of paper, “I transferred, I had to rearrange my school schedule for this semester to fit my alpha schedule since I’ll be running the student pack house and activities now.” Would it be vain if I thought he transferred because of me and that he lied about his reason? I mean he did just look right at me for a little and Bay noticed, she had to because she looked at him then at me. He still went over to sit next to her instead of me. “Casey, are Bay and Isaac a thing?” I had to finally ask. Her laugh relieved me. “No, they’re best friends, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were a bit more than that.” It bothered me a lot, I mean even if it wasn’t Bay. How weird would it be to ask him his body count after this period?
