Chapter Three: Sleepover

1115 Words
Kylie's P.O.V Isaac was in my room, I didn’t really know what to do but then he spoke. “Stop staring at me.” He ordered so I blushed hard and turned away. “You’re not really making this easy you know.” He scoffed. Confused didn’t begin to describe how I felt. I sat down on my bed and turned away from him. “Not making what easy? You can just reject me you know.” He laughed at what I said and it caught me off guard so I turned my head to him and he was just sitting on the floor with his back against the wall. “Look at you, you randomly show up, you’re an elf, elves are like one of the seven wonders of the world.” It almost sounded like a compliment, almost. I couldn’t help but giggle, that was the first nice thing he said to me. “I don’t think so.” Isaac was staring at me now and that made me blush even more red. “They’re not common in this town. You’re also staying in the pack house, how’d you manage that as a magic user?” That was a fair question. “My goddess is mother nature who is said to be the lover of the moon goddess. Guess your alpha wants to stay in his goddesses good graces.” It was half the answer or maybe not at all, the real reason is I’m a dragon shifter, we shared the same goddess and both shift into strong creature. He stood up and walked to my dresser to take a look at the photo of me and my sister. “Your body language is a big issue too but rejecting you is the last thing I want to do.” He picked the photo up, me and Carissa were smiling in it with peace signs, I was a lot younger in that photo. “Could you put that down?” I laid down on my bed as I asked. “Stop looking at my body then.” I said about the body language comment. “Realistically that’s not gonna happen.” He shrugged and put my photo down and sat on my bed causing me to sit up fast. “What are you doing?” I asked immediately. “I’m getting in bed, you said I could sleep here.” He took his shirt off and not by surprise he was fit, never heard of a wolf that wasn’t. Him sleeping in my bed was NOT an option. I got out of my bed and tripped on his shoes. “Ah!” I yelped and glared at him because he was laughing. “You can’t sleep with me, what is wrong with you?? This thing is moving too fast.” Not really sure if that’s how I felt, maybe I just wanted him to be a little more gentle and caring like Scorch is with Carissa. He wasn’t looking at me at all while he spoke. “This isn’t a thing, it’s better off that way for you. Anyways I didn’t have anywhere else to go, my father…” It didn’t seem like he wanted to finish the sentence. His shirt was on the ground, I picked it up and put it in my laundry hamper. “I get it, I feel like that sometimes too.” I was hurt by him saying we weren’t a thing but he didn’t want to reject me either and he complimented me. There were just a lot of mixed signals.  “Get in the bed.” He said in the tone of an order but it gave me so many butterflies, I know I said it wasn’t an option but we are mates... maybe this once. I climbed into the bed and turned the lights off, throughout the night our bodies got closer and closer until the point that he was spooning me. It felt like a drug, the raw static and electricity was so new to me, I just didn’t understand what he wanted us to be. Morning I woke up and no one was next to me, Isaac was gone and now I felt empty. I looked at my phone to see the Alpha sent out a message to everyone for an emergency house meeting which would be my first pack meeting. I got warnings about Isaac from Casey, my mom, and himself. I wasn’t sure what to do but what I did know was how complicated it was going to be. I thought about the situation as I got dressed for the day. I got to the meeting and there were about 50 teens living in this pack house, ages 14-18. My mom told me to pay attention at the first meeting I attended so I could meet the Alpha and learn the rules of living with their pack. To my surprise the Alpha was my principal, the same man I met with yesterday which answers why he was big, dominant, and attractive. The Luna was next to him, she was gorgeous but seemed different from the other wolves in a way I couldn’t describe.  “I called this meeting to address a matter in this town as you know our pack is at the top, not the witches, magic users or humans. Yet again and again they try to control us, if you guys have problems with any of the factions report it to me. I’ve gotten a few reports already, don’t hold back, assert your dominance.” I didn’t like the way that sounded much. “On to other business, we have a new member of our pack. Kylie. She’s from an elf kingdom, we’re honored to take her in, make her feel welcome.” All eyes were on me, now everyone really did know I was an elf, my sister the Queen spoke with the alpha and made sure he didn’t give personal information away but he knew everything. “I'm happy to be here.”  “Now, I spent a lot of time in this house during the first semester but now we’re in the second and most of you are settled in. I have of lot of business to take care up in the main pack house so I will be there most my time.” He spoke so surely, like a leader. “I will have office hours at the high school if you need to speak with me and the beta will check in the dorm once a week. My son will run things here for the rest of the year.” He gestured to someone in the crowd and the boy walked up beside the alpha and Luna.  My eyes widened in shock when I saw that Isaac, my mate was the Alpha’s son. We made direct eye contact, he knew I didn’t know till now, I could see it in his face, he slightly smirked. I didn’t think him being the alpha's son was that big a deal, but it was, a huge deal.
