Away from prying eyes

Robyns point of view      I took a seat next to the man, the only thing I knew about him was that he was my mate. He seemed to be drawn to me as I was to him but something wasn’t right.  I picked up my phone and called Marcus my beta and best friend “ meet me at the diner”. He simply replied “yes, Luna” and I ended the call.  “Have you eaten yet?” It took me by surprise the man didn’t respond immediately to my question. His stomach protested and I couldn’t help but laugh.       Marcus arrived and I motioned him to sit next to me. I hadn’t been the Luna very long and I still struggled with mind linking pack members at a distance.  Marcus had been my protector after my fathers death a year ago.  If not for him I would have died with my alpha a few months ago when the witches attacked us. He was only twenty years old but he was the strongest in our pack and took over the Beta position when I became Luna and his father stepped down.        Marcus could sense that the man next to me was a rogue but he also knew there was something off about what was happening in front of him.  I quickly mind linked him to advise him of the situation.  I also wanted my best friend by my side in case this man rejected me, after all he was a rogue and they were unpredictable.       I carefully watched as he ate his meal, I finished before he did but I needed to get to the bottom of this situation and fast.  He was a rogue in my territory, my mate, and he was acting completely oblivious to all of it.  My mind was going a mile a minute trying to understand what was unfolding before me.  Without thinking I watched him finish his last bite and blurted out “come with me, we need to talk”
