It was a beautiful fall morning, fall was always my favorite season.  The pack was still in disarray after the death of my husband, the alpha of our pack. My heart still ached for him but he was never my true mate.  Being the daughter of the former alpha meant that I would take over the pack as their Luna. It wasn’t fair that I had to take a husband and that rule seemed outdated at best. I should have been aloud to find my true mate first, but my fathers death was sudden and my pack needed me.        It was an uneventful morning much like all the rest. I started the day with a pack meeting and then training.  I hadn’t eaten yet and Tucker’s diner had the best burgers. Tucker was also my fathers best friend so I loved the man as family and enjoyed his company.  “Hey tuck, I’ll have my usual” I said as I pointed to the bathroom to wash my hands.  Tuck just nodded and smiled, he knew my routine very well.        Just as I entered the bathroom I could feel a change in the air. A smell filled my nose that was both unfamiliar and exquisite. I was only 18 but I knew what it was and to be honest I was shocked. My mate was near, but how? I knew everyone in our pack and none were my mate. I was the Luna and was not informed of any visitors coming into my territory.  That could only suggest one thing “a lone wolf” I said to my reflection.       I knew I had to hurry, this person was a rogue in my territory but he was also my mate and I didn’t want him attacked before I could intervene. I exited the bathroom and stood at the entrance to scan the room for an unfamiliar face. Immediately his eyes met mine. My wolf surged with excitement. He was sitting but if I had to guess I would say he was at least 6”1”  well defined arms with broad shoulders. He was definitely alpha  material but that was just his physique. His dark brown hair was a little long and probably needed a trim and he had a masculine jaw line but those green eyes did me in.       All eyes seemed to be on the two of us, I as the Luna of the pack had the final say on what to do with a roque. What the occupants failed to realize was that this man was my mate.  I immediately raised my hand as if to say stand down. Tuck gave me a quizzical look, he knew something was different about the man who sat in front of him at the counter.
