Jake choked back the lump that threatened to choke him and nodded. He knew Lana made the right decision, and he’d done the right thing encouraging her toward Nate. Nate was a good man, and he would take care of Jake’s best friend and her son.
“I will. Thanks, Nate. Do me a favor. Take care of Lana and DJ.”
“Always,” Nate said with conviction. “I do have one question for you though. I want Lana to marry me. When we get to Colorado, I’m going to officially ask her. We’ve talked about it, but I’d like to ask for your blessing first. DJ’s too. You’re the two most important men in her life, and I want to make sure you’re both okay with it.”
“Yeah,” Jake forced out. “You definitely have my blessing.”
