Jake stewed on what Lana said for over a week. By the following Monday morning, he knew Lana was right. Something was wrong. Alyssa wouldn’t have left with her soon-to-be ex unless something was wrong. Unless he threatened her.
Jake had to go find out. Even if she still didn’t want him, he had to know she was safe.
And then he’d convince her to be with him.
