"Bridget, you are here. We thought you wouldn't be able to make it, since you just entered the city. Thank you for making time to see us today." The director shook Bridget's hand warmly as she walked into the large meeting room. The filming was supposed to begin in a few days, and Bridget had to be here to smooth things out. She had a smile on her face, since no matter how tired she was, Bridget would never take it out on the staff. "I have to be here; everyone's working so hard. I can't be the only one who's slacking off," she said, taking a seat directly opposite to the director's seat. Lily sat down next to Bridget as they waited for the director to speak. Originally, everything had been finalized a few weeks ago, but since a new character had been added, things were going to change. The director had a guilty look on his face, and Bridget squinted her eyes as she stared at him suspiciously. The man didn't even dare to meet her eyes; Bridget had a feeling that something big had happened. "Well, although we'd already concluded on the cast a few weeks ago, something came up, and the second female lead of the drama has been changed. You have a lot of scenes with the second female lead, and so we thought that you should meet each other and get to know each other before filming begins," the director told Bridget, an ingratiating smile on his face. Bridget's eyes scanned the director's face as she tried to suppress her rising anger. She didn't want to lose her temper, but Bridget was finding it hard to control herself. She knew what the industry was like, and she knew that as long as a person had connections, they could always replace someone who already got the role. Thanks to that person, Bridget had never suffered something like this in her career, and she definitely didn't like it when people used their power and connections to steal roles in a project that she was involved in. It was an open secret, and as long as a director was working with her, they would try to avoid situations like this. Since this director dared to do it, does it mean that the person involved was a powerful person? "Director Paul, I want you to think about this carefully. Whoever that person is, are you sure that it's worth offending us over?" Lily asked angrily. Some words that Bridget could not say, she would be the one to say them. The director had a helpless look on his face. "I really don't want to do this either, but I don't have a choice. This person is one of our biggest investors, and we won't get to film if he decides to pull out at the last minute. Can you please consider my situation here?" The director begged. "Why don't you consider Bridget's situation? Does this person even know anything about the plot? How is she going to work with someone who was just shoved into the production just a few days before filming?" Lily complained. Bridget smiled mildly, her smile hiding all of the thoughts in her heart. "Let's not make things difficult for the director; after all, if he's doing this, it must be because he has no choice, right? The person that was able to get him to change the supporting actress must be someone that's really powerful," Bridget said. The director nodded his head with a relieved look on his face. "You are still the only one who can understand my situation; I really don't have a choice here," he complained. "Who is this person? If we are going to work with her, we need to make sure that it's someone we can get along with, right?" Bridget asked, still as calm as usual. The director smiled guiltily. "Well, about that..." "Sorry I am late, everyone. I got caught up in traffic," a female voice sounded from the door just then. Bridget turned sharply, as she thought the voice was familiar. The person she saw was Jenna, her former boss, staring back at her with a sinister smile on her face. Bridget looked back at the director, and this time she could not control her anger. "What is the meaning of this?" Lily was the first person to lash out. Immediately she saw Jenna; she knew that it wasn't a coincidence. Jenna was here to cause trouble! "Look, I really don't have a choice here...the investor asked me to make her the second female lead since we can't make her the female lead...." The director said, looking strangely at Bridget. Bridget lowered her head and laughed. How could she not understand the threat in those words? "Bridget, I never thought that you and I would meet under situations like this. Who would have thought the assistant who used to clean my feet is now a big star with fans?" Jenna asked, a cruel smile on her face. Bridget wasn't affected by Jenna's words, since she had never hidden her past since she became popular. However, that did not mean she was going to let Jenna walk all over her. "Yeah, life really is full of ups and downs. I haven't seen you in a lot of dramas lately, and I thought that you'd retired. I never expected that you would be acting as my second female lead," Bridget said with a smile on her face. Jenna was not the only one who knew how to mock others. Jenna's eyes were dripping with hate for Bridget. The past five years haven't been too good for her. At first, she was still the top actress, but then, there were newer actresses in the industry, and Jenna could no longer keep up. She was pushed aside, only taking up roles whenever she could. Jenna stepped closer to Bridget, and if eyes could kill, Bridget would have died a thousand times over. Leaning closer to her, Jenna whispered into Bridget's ears, "Do you think you can trample on me so easily? I am here to teach you a lesson!”
