BLAKE’S POV: I ran my hand to my hair as I finished the last stack of papers. There will be trading of goods tomorrow and it will be with two packs since I cancelled the last time. There was a knock on my door and Zane came in. “The members of the Black Paws Pack reached their pack and warriors just arrived safely too. Do you wish to talk with them?” “No need. Feed them and they may rest. That’s all.” He nodded. “Yes Alpha.” He bowed and left. I sighed. I still can’t believe my very own mate doesn’t trust me and chose to be comfortable with Leila more than me. This is what angers me. She won’t even come close to me without crying. I am her mate. She should trust me more than anybody. I growled. It’s tremendously upsetting. I know it’s unfair but give her some time Blake. She just needs time after all those trauma. Midnight said. He’s right. There will come a day that she will finally trust me. My mate’s beautiful face crept in my mind that calmed me down immediately. I just wanna hold her. Sighing, I stood up from my chair and linked Leila. I’m done for today. I’m going up. Okay, we’re on our way down. I waited for them by the elevator. “How is she?” “You didn’t tell me she loves to watch. I was worried she’d get scared if I put anything too crazy so I went for something animated.” I nodded at her, “Thank you. I’ll pay my nephews a visit soon.” She smiled and they both left. Going up, the elevator opened and there I saw my beautiful mate. Her blonde waves falling towards the ground as she leans over the arm of the couch. Her gaze finally met mine and she instantly cowered. I sighed, trying my best not to growl. She’s still scared of me, “it’s okay, Claire. You can continue watching. I’ll be in the next room.” I was walking my way to the extra bedroom when she spoke. “B-blake,” she paused. I turned to look at her with wide eyes. She just called me Blake. Just Blake. No Alpha. Midnight was jumping happily. “W-will you watch with me?” She finally met my gaze. Her eyes are very beautiful. My heart warmed. “Of course, little mate.” I sat next to her, making sure I didn’t sit too close so I won’t scare her. Her eyes are fixed on the screen, although I catch her stealing a few glances in my direction, she seems quite interested in the movie. I don’t care much for it, I just let her watch, and most of the time I watch her. She didn’t mind me doing so. Now clean Claire glowed very differently when I found her near the border yesterday. She has this beauty she didn’t even know she had. Has she ever looked at herself in the mirror when she’s all cleaned up? I clench my fist, thinking of something I wanted to do with her. I was tired but watching her comfortably watching washes everything off. Little Claire is my everything, I want to show her that and I want her to know that. Although I can quite see that she’s more comfortable with girls than men. Let’s make a list of things we should not do around her. Midnight joined my thoughts and he is right. I made sure I fed the list to him as I do so. Don’t growl and yell, it freaks her out every time. Don’t touch her, or at least not swiftly. Don’t use your alpha tone, she’ll be submissive and cry. I clenched my hands ever more. This will be difficult. This girl has me whipped and she doesn’t even try. At one point in the movie, Claire shed a few tears which I desperately want to wipe it off for her but I couldn’t get any closer. The movie ends shortly after and Claire stretches out. “Claire, will you come with me?” I asked, a little scared she’d say no. Claire stands up and I sighed in relief, standing after her. “Follow me.” I made sure I’m walking not too fast so I’m the same pace as her. We entered the other room. I let her examine the place in awe before waling to a closet that has a mirror on it. “Ready Claire?” I asked her. She frowns at me, confusion striking her. I walk in front of the mirror and gestured her to come over. She walked over but her gaze was on me the whole time until she catches her reflection. Claire turns quickly, facing herself. I stepped out of the mirror’s reflection so she can focus on only herself. She stares at herself for a few minutes before smiling. I just watched her reaction. She finally reached out her hair with her hand and brushed them gently. She smiled even more, showing her teeth. Her smile is very captivating and contagious, I found myself smiling too. I can look at it all day. She made a twirl in front of the mirror. I stepped in behind her. “You’re beautiful, Claire.” I say quietly. Her gaze breaks away from the mirror and flicked her gaze to me. I can see tears forming in her eyes. She turns back to her reflection in the mirror. Flicking her gaze to me in the reflection behind her, she gave me a smile and a tear rolled down her eyes. “Thank you, Blake.” There it is again. Blake. I sat down on the bed and watched her admire herself as I admired with her. After some time, she finally turns away like she’s seen enough of herself. “You have to get ready for bed.” I say, looking at the clock above her. I stood up and motioned her to follow me. We went inside my room. I grabbed one of the shirts Leila bought her and some sweatpants. I look back at her and she stood there by the door looking a little panicked and awkward. “Come here, Claire.” I sighed frustratingly. She followed my order and I gave her the clothes. “Do you need help changing?” I asked to make sure. Midnight howled at the back of my head. She shook her head so I turned back to give her some privacy. Midnight growled lightly in disappointment. Not now, Midnight. I cut him off. “A-all done.” She muttered lightly so I turned to look at her. How beautiful… I nodded at her, “Let’s get you to bed.” I helped her climb onto my bed and watched her tuck herself under the covers. “I’ll be in the next room. Just click the button if you need anything.” I explained. “Goodnight Claire.” She didn’t answer so I walked away. “Blake,” She called so I stopped walking. “Y-you can sleep here.” My eyes widened and I quickly looked at her. Her eyes widened in realization, “o-on the couch.” She finally trusts me even for just a little bit. That’s better than having to sleep in another room. I nodded and went to the couch. I watched her for a moment before lying down. I can’t sleep again and it’s been hours. My mind is too focused on the little one who won’t let me close to her. I look over to her again and she’s fast asleep. Maybe if I climb over to her now she won’t notice. So I did. Walking over the bed and slowly climbing up at her. She didn’t wake up. I pulled her closer to me and kept my hands around her. She went closer to my touch, I smiled. I’m gonna regret this in the morning when she cries. But for now, feeling a lot better, I finally dozed off.
