CLAIRE'S POV:
It was a long way going to where my friends are held. The wounds on my legs are already hurting.
We left the building where I stayed and went to the build quite far from it.
Alpha Blake and Zane stopped in front of a metal bar door. Zane opened it and we all went in.
A very long hallway met us and I can feel myself shaking. I gulped hard, trying my best not to cry.
Is this where they kept my friends? Are they keeping me here too?
I shook myself away from Alpha Blake. I can't completely make up his face. The light from the torches the only light reflecting. He looked at me with a worried face but he let me.
By the end of the hallway, there was a circular dungeon kind of room with only torches illuminating the room, a few guards, and three staircases going down to a dungeon basement.
I started shaking even more.
"Claire, are you okay?" Alpha Blake asked.
I bit my lip and didn't answer.
My years with Alpha Jason taught me that if I'm unsure, I should just keep mouth shut because it angers him more.
Alpha Blake approached me and held my arm that startled me.
His eyes widened. "Claire, you're shaking!"
My hands started to feel numb as my chest felt tight.
I gripped my chest, my knees weakening, tears running down my face. "I-I can't breath."
"Claire!" Alpha Blake caught be before I reach the ground.
He carried me bridal style and ran quickly out of the dungeon.
I can still feel the sparks all over my body but I'm too weak.
"Just hold on, Claire. I'll bring you to Dr. Hyth."
I tightened my grip around his neck as he ran faster.
Darkness consumed me.
~
I woke with the smell of potatoes.
"How are you feeling little mate?"
I know that voice.
"A-alpha?" I muttered as I continued to slowly open my eyes.
Someone took hold of my right hand and it sent tingles down my spine. "It's Blake, my little mate."
I let my eyes adjust to the light and he helped me sit up. "What happened?"
"You had panic attacks, Luna." Dr. Hyth came in with his charts. "The dungeon may have scared you which caused the physical sensations of fear. But you're gonna be okay."
Panic attacks..
I never want to experience that again.
Sighing, I gave the doctor a smile. "T-thank you."
He nodded. "I will leave you two alone. Alpha, I'll take my leave."
Alpha Blake bid his thank you too.
I looked over at him. His amber eyes met mine. "Are you hungry, Claire? Leila prepared this potato soup and herbal tea for you." He let go of my hand and grabbed the a bed table and put it in front of me.
Looking down my lap, I held my tears so I wouldn't cry again. "I-I'm so sorry Alpha for the trouble."
"It's no trouble at all. I just want you safe and healthy Claire, don't worry about it. Now eat while the soup's still warm."
"T-thank you."
~
As soon as we reached Alpha Blake's chambers, he made me sit on the couch.
He sat next to me, "We can meet your friends next time. Any time you want."
I nodded at him. "Thank you Alpha."
He sighed and sat a little far from me. "You can call me Blake, Claire. Just Blake. But I understand, it'll take time before you can trust me completely." He gave me a little smile.
"Claire, will you tell me about yourself?" He asks. Trying his very hardest to keep it as soft as he can. "Like...maybe your favorite color?"
Should I answer. I gulped hard.
He sighed. "If it helps, I'll tell you mine. It's black."
I push myself further away from him. My back hitting the arm of the couch.
There was a pause for a moment and I can see him concentrating.
He growled which startled me before running his fingers through his hair. "I have to get back to my office Claire. Leila is on her way here to keep you company."
The elevator rang and Leila and Jake went in with a cart.
Jake fixed the cart on the side and Leila walked up to me holding a plate of what I think are apple slices.
Leila sits in between me and Alpha Blake and gave me a slice.
I take it happily and started eating.
"You like Leila?" Alpha Blake asks.
I nod. "She's...nice."
Leila giggled at me so I tilted my head on her. Why is she happy?
Jake walked up to us with two trays of food. Lots of food, piled on plate by plate.
He placed the trays on the table and sits on the couch across us before grabbing some food from the plate.
Alpha Blake glares at him and I instinctively cower back. He's mad now. Now we're in trouble.
I tugged Leila's arm closer to me. "Leila, we have to be careful." I whispered at her.
"Careful of what?" Leila asks.
"Alpha Blake is mad." I whispered again.
He looked over at Alpha Blake. "He's not...oh.." She nodded. "I'll be careful."
Alpha Blake growled at Leila and I whimpered. His gaze snaps up to me so I hid behind Leila.
"Blake," Leila gave him a warning tone.
The room was silent for a moment as all of their gazes went to me. I sighed. I don't like being the center of attention.
Jake started eating again.
"Claire," Leila called my name. "What's your favorite color?"
Her face doesn't show hardness or any anger unlike Alpha Blake's. He looks like he's about to choke me to death any moment. But Leila's soft.
I smiled at her. "Blue." I feel comfortable answering to her.
Leila laughed at Alpha Blake and he stood up out of frustration.
"I'll be at my office." He said and walked up to the elevator.
Looking back at me, he sighed before going inside the elevator and it closes.
I suddenly feel bad.
Leila caressed my arm lightly. "Look, Claire. Blake mind-linked me to ask you what your favorite color is because when he asked you didn't answer. And he also told me you still call him Alpha," She smiled before continuing. "He mean no harm Claire. He just want to get to know you more. I know he's scary and give out a big bad alpha kind of vibe, but he already loves you, from the very moment he saw you. From all the other alphas and male wolves you've encounter, he's different. You can trust him more than any of us because all he ever wants is to keep you safe."
That was reassuring.
Maybe I should give him a chance. I just had to trust him and be less scared.
Looking over at Jake, he gave me a reassuring smile too. "Look, Lu..-I mean, Claire. I'm sorry about earlier this morning. Me and Zane didn't mean to scare you. We sorta just panicked because you started crying and Blake's gonna kill us if he knew you cried because of us."
I smiled at him. "It's alright." I looked down my lap. "I'm sorry I made you panic."
The people here are not so very bad.
Leila grabbed me another plate of food.
I'm starting to like it here.
