Alpha Whyte

Chapter 3

The constant knocking on my door wakes me up from sleep and I can tell who it is already by their scent. The knowledge seems to annoy me more as I cannot understand why she always wants to be in my space.

"Are you in there, Whyte?" She asks again, despite I've ignored her for the past few minutes. After spending the rest of my night outside, I finally felt sleepy when I returned this morning but now, Diane is so bent on interrupting it.

"Whyte?"

I become fed up with her and I get up for the door.

"What is it you want, Diane?" I snarled when I open the door. It seems to frighten her and she finds it hard to speak. If only she knows how much she's annoying me right now.

"I-I actually.." She stutters and I try shutting the door on her but she stops me.

"Hold on, Whyte. Please." She begs. Why do I get the thought that she's starting to feel that we share something special just because we satisfy each other's needs?

"I actually came last night but your door was locked and also was it early this morning. That's the reason I kept knocking. I didn't mean to disturb you." She explains but it still doesn't sound reasonable enough to me.

"Well, you just did. Listen carefully, Diane. I do not want you getting all up into my business again. I'll call you when I need you." With that, I shut the door close.

Not long again, another knock comes in and I stand up, furiously. I'm going to have to teach her a lesson since she's being so stubborn.

"Didn't I tell you that I'll call you when I...." I start but stop when I see that it's someone else at the door. It's my beta, Alaric.

"You seem to be in a bad mood."

"Of course I am. You guys cannot let me be for an hour. I really can't wait for the other buildings to be done so you all can pack out. f**k!" I exclaim.

"An alpha must be with if not all but most of his pack members." He states.

"I guess I'm going to have to change that. Only when we have meetings or when something important is happening, that's when we'll meet.". I reply. I'll definitely make sure it happens. We have twelve different houses already and they're are all situated in the same area with up to five persons living in one but I am building more and faraway because they frustrate me. Especially Dianne and this beta of mine, Alaric.

"What do you want by the way?"

"Well, I just called to inform you that there's been some issues with the company."

"What happened?"

"Well, Mr Alvarez no longer wants to team up with us. He's backing out all of a sudden after we've made the transfer of twenty million dollars into his company."

"That asshole. He thinks he can defraud me. Bring him to my office by twelve. Drag him if you must. He needs to know who he's dealing with." I command and walk into my room.

"Also there is another thing."

"What?" I ask as I take a look at myself in the mirror. One of the things about being an alpha is that issues arise everyday that constantly needs your attention.

I never knew my father went through so much while he was alive and was the alpha of the pack until I became alpha.

"There's a rogue in the territory." He says and I wonder what fool had the guts to step in to my territory. I hate rogues because there's always something malicious about them.

"Bring him to me for questioning."

"It's a she actually. We caught her scent." He corrects.

"Oh, wow. Find her and bring her to me when I'm done with Mr Alvarez. If she's lucky, I might spare her life." He nods at that and then leave.

I'm already at my office when Mr Alvarez shows up. Two of my gamma's, Rio and Sky behind him.

"You didn't have to send your bodyguards to bring me here forcefully." He says as he takes a seat in front of me.

"Bodyguards? Perhaps what we did to you earlier on wasn't enough." Rio says and it makes me chuckle. We live amongst humans and most of them we've come across always see my pack as my body guards or my workers. We have to stay hidden regardless and cannot afford to let the human world know that beings like us do exist.

"I told them to drag you here if you didn't comply. You're lucky they didn't. Now, why is my source telling me that you're backing out of the deal we had after my company transferred the twenty million dollars you requested?"

Mr Alvarez is a well known business man across the country but when his company started going through some financial crises, he came seeking me help. I helped him but on the condition that he will supply my company with a particular product for the next five years. He's only done it for the last few months and now he wants to back out, thinking he can. I hate when people think they can easily double cross me. Perhaps, if he had begged me, I would have agreed but he's thinking he can do what ever he wants and that I hate.

"Well, yes. I really do appreciate all that you have done for my company but we cannot keep on supplying you with that particular product as it will be compromising. As for the money. I will pay you back." He says and I laugh at his words.

"Oh, so now you find it compromising right? But when you came crawling to me for help, you didn't, did you? When you agreed to my terms, you didnt find it compromising, did you? Do not test me, Alvarez. We had a deal and you must keep to it." I say.

"And if you decide on paying me back, note that you will triple the amount of what I gave you." I declare and I see how surprised he becomes.

"We didn't agree to that."

"We also didn't agree to you backing out. If you want to back out, we're doing it on my terms. Do not even try to do something stupid because you will be sorry. Now, get out." He isn't given a chance to speak by Rio and Sky as they both force him out of my office. One settled issue now.

When I enter my room, I see that Diane is already there waiting. I thought I told her not to come to my room unless I tell her to.

"I know you said I shouldn't come back without your permission but I really want to apologize about what happened earlier on." She murmurs, trying to act settled but I can tell how scared she is.

"I'm so sorry. I do not want you to be angry at me. I also brought you a meal which I made, specially for you."

She keeps on blabbing as I approach her and she starts shifting backwards till her back hits the wall.

"I'm really sorry." I almost laugh at her expression when she sees me raising my hand. Probably thinking I want to hit her but I do not hit women. My mother taught me to respect women and she said if one ever pisses me off so badly and I wanted to hurt her, I should get someone else to do it and I actually found it appeasing.

As for Diane, right now, I can tell she aches for me and so I want to give her what she wants. That's what we do. Please each other with no strings attached.

She calms down when she feels my hand on her cheeks and trail it's way down to her neck. She immediately pulls me closer and presses her lips against mine but I break it at once. I hate lip kisses. I do not find it pleasurable. I prefer to be kissed anywhere else but not on the lips. I pick her up while trailing kisses all over her body and carry her to the bed.

My phone, which is placed on the bedside shelf, rings and I finally get up to pick it up. Diane is still beside me and asleep so I let her be.

"What is it?" I ask. It's my beta, Alaric on the call.

"We've found the rogue and we're bring her inside right away." He informs.

"Okay. I'll be with you shortly.

I made it to the silverstone's pack territory a day ago and ever since, I've been on the run. They already caught my scent and that makes it harder for me to hide from them. There's still no place I can hide apart from the few bushes around and so I stay in one of them.

I see them from afar in their wolf forms and I can tell that it's me that they are searching for as they move from place to place and also into all the bushes. It scares me seeing how big they are and I wonder what their first instinct will be when they find me.

When I notice how close it is they are getting, I decide to retreat but I'm thrown off guard as one of them hits me from behind and push me out of my covering.

Oh no. They've found me.

I manage to get up but I'm already surrounded by eight other wolves and one who is in his human form.

"Who are you?" He asks and I find it hard responding back out of fear.

"Who are you?" He yells this time around and I hurriedly reply.

"My name's Serene. I mean no harm."

"That's left for the alpha to decide.' He replies and drags me to follow him. Alpha?

Why do I get a feeling that I'm going to die?

They take me to an empty room with just a chair in the middle and they make me sit on it and then, they tie my hands and my legs to it.

I remain quiet and watch them all. Earlier on, I notice that just the way the crimson pack members all have black furs, they have white furs. They are a pack of white wolves.

The one who dragged me to the room makes a call and informs the alpha that he has captured me.

Within minutes, the door opens and they clear the path for the man whom I suppose to be the alpha to pass. I raise my face to look at him and instantly, I notice something quite surprising. I never really believed the tales were true. The tales about bond, about mates and being drawn to them at first sight but seeing him now makes me feel some kind of unexplainable way. A way I've never felt before. Not even while I was with Grayson. He too looks at me for long the way I do to him and I wonder if he feels the same way I do. The humans calls it love at first sight but werewolves calls it finding your mate. The one you're made to be with.

"Untie her and the rest of you, leave us, now!" He dismisses those present in the room and after the one whom he instructs to untie me is done, he tells him to leave as well and it becomes just the two of us. I think he realises it just the way that I do. Somehow, I feel happy about it because I never thought I will ever love someone again or find my mate but it still freaks me out because of the reason why I'm here. I was sent here to spy on him and now, I find out that we're connected. How the hell am I going to go about this?
