Silence ensues when it becomes just the two of us in the room. He remains standing, his arms crossed sternly across his chest and his face holding a frown. Still, he looks handsome. The most handsome I have ever seen and I do not mean to sound cliche but I can stare at that face of his all day and not get tired.
His light brown eyes seem so electrifying and I find it difficult looking into them without getting nervous. He's got short black hair which is beautifully styled and has some tendrils falling down to his face. The white t-shirt he's wearing does little to hide his physique. Not too muscular but perfectly built. A literal work of art on the outside. I'm just not sure about his character and the way he's staring at me as though he's planning my murder confirms all the rumours I've heard about him to be true. It makes me feel scared but I try to act brave. I need to. Allen's life depends on my success.
"Who are you?" He finally asks, breaking off the silence.
"My name's Serene. I'm a rogue and I came here seeking for help. My entire pack was murdered by a rival one and since then, I've been hoping to join a new one." I lie, trying to sound as convincing as I can but I can't tell if he believes any of it.
"I don't care about any of that but I want you to listen carefully." His voice is stern as he speaks.
"I need you to leave." I hear him say. His face now with a blank expression and his eyes everywhere else but me. It's easy to tell his much he doesn't want to be around me and I find it surprising as I never thought the first thing he'll ask, is for me to leave. Well, I did expect worse but that was before I realised our connection.
"I cannot do that." I state, trying to sound as brave as I can.
"If it were someone else, they'll probably be dead by now or beaten but I'm trying to make an exception for you so, leave." He replies and starts walking out but I stop him.
"Are you just going to pretend like you do not feel it too?" I ask. Not the desperate part of me that wants to get accepted into his pack but the part of me that is excited about finding my mate.
"As much as I hate to say that I do, I want you to know that it means nothing to me and I want nothing to do with you."
For some reason, it hurts to hear him say that but I'm not going to give up so easily. He cannot hurt me nor throw me out without a good reason. It is tradition and so I must use it to my advantage.
"I'm still not leaving." He doesn't say anything after this but just watches me and in this moment, I make up my mind that I will not be intimidated or broken by anything he will do.
"Suit yourself then but I promise that you'll regret it." He finally speaks after what feels like an eternity then, exits the room and I'm left wondering what next to do. I mustn't fail in this task.
-WHYTE-
This shouldn't be happening . Not now, not ever. Everything was going perfectly fine in my life. I had everything planned out but meeting her now, makes me feel some type of way. A way I've never felt before and could mess up my plans if it continues. I cannot have a mate. I do not want to have someone who would make me feel vulnerable and be seen as my weakness by my enemies. I still remember how my parents were. My mother meant a lot to my father and after she was killed, it felt as though my father lost a part of himself. I cannot let that happen to me and that is why I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure she leaves.
I see Alaric and the others seated when I step outside and I have no doubt that they heard all that transpired between me and Serene. I find it weird that her name is now stuck in my memory. I only heard it once yet I remember.
They try to act normal but I notice their amused gaze. One that shows they're happy about her arrival.
Although they never dared to tell me before, I always knew they wanted me to fall in love but I've always disposed love. It makes one weak and so, that desire of theirs will never be fulfilled.
I do not say anything to them and I continue walking upstairs to my room. However, Alaric follows behind me.
"Hey, wait up." He says but I ignore him until I reach my room.
"Why are you so angry?" He asks and it makes me more angry.
"Why shouldn't I be? She cannot stay here. I want her out."
"That can't be possible. She has a right to be here. She is your mate. The only time she can be forced to leave is when she breaks any of the rules. It is tradition." He states. Of course I know it's tradition but I'm still not going to give up. She will leave. One way or another.
I grab my car keys and walk away. Ain't no way I'm staying in this building any longer.
Getting into my car, I see Diane running towards me in high heels and in a dress that jumps above her hips as she ran. The sight looks appealing but I'm too frustrated to even want something with her right now.
"So uhm.." She starts but stop, seeming confused on what to say. I know she wants to talk about my newly found mate. I furrow my brows and gestured for her to speak.
"What happens to us now?" She finally asks and I want to reply that there was never an us before but an idea seems to cross my mind this instant. One which I could use to chase Serene away.
"The way it has always been. I have no interest in her." I state. I believe that is the truth but somehow, I feel as though I'm telling myself a lie.
A smile appears on her face but I do not wait for her to speak again before driving off.

"Give me another bottle." I tell the bartender and he looks at me, surprised. Ten empty bottles of vodka which I just finished are lined in front of me but I still want more. Not like its of much help to me as my nature doesn't allow me to get drunk or intoxicated. Still, I like the taste and the feeling. It kind of gives me a tiny escape from my problems.
The barman doesn't say anything and instead, fulfills my request.
"If I were you, I wouldn't drink that much." I hear a feminine voice say from beside me and when I turn, I see a young girl. Way younger than me. Probably fourteen or fifteen and I can tell this from her appearance. Her hair which is packed in a pigtail style, her make up which is terribly done and her poor dressing style.
"You're not in my position so shut the f**k up." I reply, frustratingly. The last thing I want is to converse with a child.
"No need to be mean. I was just trying to advise you."
"I don't need it. Just mind your business." I hit the bottle on the table hard and I see her make a mocking face at me.
"What's a child like you doing in a club by the way?" I ask.
"I'm not a child you dummy. I'm thirteen." She answers. She's even younger that I had guessed. Having a sinister look on, I lean in to whisper.
"Be careful how you talk to strangers. Some can snap the life out of you within seconds." I watch as the life drains out of her face and I know it's because of how I intentionally cause my eyes to change it's colour. It's a normal thing that werewolves do when they want to transform or show dominance. Well, not all can control this but as an alpha, I can.
"Aarrgh." She screams and jumps back, drawing a lot of attention to us but I only smile and get up to walk out. I don't know why but scaring children is kind of fun.
