Kali's POV:
Things in my life have been great. I talk with Jayden almost every day. Sometimes, I don't have much time. My friends come to see me in the studio every day. The doors are always open for them. They can come at home as well. For now, I keep my friendship with him a secret. All I will say is that I have no idea how long this can last. If something happens, I prefer to handle this privately. Things look good. He always asks me about my day. I don't know why he cares so much about me, but I appreciate me. It will be good to meet in person, but that can't happen soon. Jayden told me his tests started. He will have a lot of work. It's the end of the semester. I wanted to go to university. That's why I realized I couldn't do this to myself when I saw how I was treated in high school. Luckily, my career is great. I earn enough to take care of myself. That was until a week ago. Danny showed me a t****k account about me. It was a hate one. The worst thing is that it had two hundred thousand followers. One of their videos had five million views. I don't know who is behind this, but I have suspicions. I haven't heard from my ex-boyfriend and ex-best friend in a long time. I think they are managing this account. If I open my mouth, they won't like it. I hope that I won't have to do this.
I woke up to the sound of my phone. I should turn these notifications off. It's so annoying. I like it when fans reach out to me, but I love to sleep. I shut it down and slept for another hour. That's it. I wanted to smash my phone, but I didn't do it. Why does life have to be this way? I checked to see if there was a message from Jayden. Nothing. Why do I care about this? I started getting excited when he was texting me. This is terrible because I don't want to date now.
I went to get ready for the day and later made myself breakfast. I still live alone, but I like it. Sometimes, silence is peace. I checked all the notifications on my social media. Many people tagged me in one video. It's from the same t****k page. When I checked the followers, I was left speechless. More than half a million follow this page. Do that many people hate me? I didn't do anything. I felt how something broke inside of me. This can't be real. No, no. Why? They are posting videos about me daily. I blocked them and texted Jayden. Hopefully, he has some time for me.
- Hey, are you ok? You don't look in a good mood.
- I have been worse.
- What happened? You can tell me. We are friends.
- Nothing. I'm a bit tired.
- And I live on the moon. Let's be honest.
- I am.
- Kali. I won't judge you.
- I don't want to talk about this.
- Then why did you call me?
- Because... I don't know. I thought I would feel better.
- Do you?
- A little bit.
- You can talk to me about everything. I will listen to you.
- I know, but it's not about this. I can't call you whenever I have a problem.
- Of course, you can. This is why we are friends.
- Yes, but you have other things to do. How are your tests?
- For now, they are fine. I think I will have good grades.
- That's good. I see you as the next big CEO. - I said, and he laughed
- Aren't you exaggerating a bit?
- I'm not. If you don't like my opinion, this is your problem.
- I didn't say that. Whatever.
- Cool.
- Look, I.
- You go first.
- No, ladies are first.
- Since when am I a lady?
- You always have been. Maybe I should say a successful lady.
- Thanks. I don't think about myself that way.
- But you should. You deserve everything you have, even more.
- This is why I have you.
- What?
- Nothing. Forget that I said something.
- Are you sure?
- How are you?
- I'm good, thanks. - he said, chuckling
- I should probably leave you to go to class.
- I have one more, true.
- When can I call you again? Well, if you have time for me today.
- I will always have time for you.
- I don't want to steal you from your friends.
- That's ok. They don't know about this.
- I'm sorry that you have to keep this away from them. I still can't move on from that.
- You don't have to worry about that.
- Thank you. I will leave you now. You can always call or text when you have time.
I should stop getting excited when we are talking. Is it possible that I? No way. I'm not falling for him. He is an ordinary boy. There is nothing special about him. Right? I better not think about this. I kept browsing on my phone. People keep tagging me in videos. I don't want to know how many people hate me. I won't lie. It hurts a little. I didn't expect them to do such a thing. At the same time, Jess wasn't happy when I fired her. I was watching a video when my mom called me.
- Hey, honey. How are you?
- I'm fine. Aren't you at work?
- Yes, but I have some free time.
- Mom, what is going on?
- You always want to know everything.
- Tell me.
- I saw the page. How are you?
- Can we not talk about this?
- You are my daughter, and I deserve to know what is happening in your life.
- Nothing.
- Kali, let's say the truth. Do you think they did it?
- No one else will. What scares me is the amount of people who follow them.
- You shouldn't care about this.
- I know, but people keep tagging me in their videos. I blocked the page, but it didn't stop.
- Move on with your life. Do what you love the most.
- It's hard. I don't have any ideas. I wanted to make more songs, but I didn't.
- Take your time. When can we see you? I would love it if you come home.
- Why don't you come here?
- Because we have to work. At least we can see you for dinner.
- I'll think about this. I can't promise anything.
- You can always call me when you need us to talk.
- I don't want to bother you.
- This is impossible.
I spent an hour at home before I got bored. I walked out to a few of my favorite places. Now, I can't enjoy them the way I used to. I had lunch at a small restaurant. Later, I bought an ice cream cone with one vanilla and a chocolate chip ball. I feel like a little kid. I walked around and saw the girls coming out of the store. I'm sure they bought more makeup. It's like an addiction for them. I pay them well. I'm sure they have other expenses as well. It's not my business, anyway.
- Hey, girls.
- Kali, it's so good to see you. - Jasmine said and hugged me
- How are you? I see you are outside. - Alyssa said
- I got bored at home. What did you two buy again?
- Makeup. - both of them said in sync
- I think you two have an addiction.
- Our money, our choice. - Alyssa said
- I didn't say the opposite.
- We are going to try it out at home. Do you want to come with us?
- Thanks, but I want to walk around for a while.
- Feel free to come whenever you want.
- Thanks.
- Are you still upset about this?
- A little bit.
- Don't let them bother you.
- Half a million people bother me.
- What do you mean?
- I checked the page in the morning before I blocked it. More than half a million people follow it.
- That is impossible.
- Check it yourself.
- This b*tch!
- We need to report it. They can't do that. - Jasmine said
- No, don't do it. They did it because of fame. I'm famous, and they are using this.
- They can't play with you like that. It's not fair.
- Please, leave them alone.
- What do you plan to do?
- Move on, what else? I don't want to think they won.
- Did they?
- Not yet.
- Why?
- I plan to release new music. Also, a world tour.
- What? When?
- I don't know. I decided it now.
- Kali, think before you do something.
- I will. I want to show them that I don't care.
- Then don't care about it.
The girls and I talked for a while before they went home. I continued with my walk. I had dinner at the same restaurant I had my lunch. I liked the food there. Also, it gets prepared quickly. Some people might not like being alone, but I do. It brings me peace. Right now, I'm not in the mood to talk much. I should continue making songs, but I have zero ideas. My brain stopped working. After dinner, I went home. I took a shower and laid on the bed. Maybe I can watch some videos online. Soon, I received a call.
- Hello. Again.
- Hey, Jayden. How are you?
- I'm good. What about you?
- The same. I had dinner. It was good.
- You don't look much in the mood. Are you ok? Hello?
- What?
- I asked if you were ok.
- Yes, yes. I'm good.
- Are you sure?
- I am. I was looking at something. I'm sorry.
- When is the new song coming?
- I have no clue.
- No ideas?
- Zero. I don't know what to do. I have never been stuck before.
- There are many songwriters in your town. Ask someone for help.
- I have someone to help me, but I should tell him what this song is about.
- I'm sure you will think of something. You can write a song about how you feel.
- Oh, no. I don't want to have a diss track.
- Who said that?
- People will think it's about someone.
- You can write a song about our friendship or the one with your other friends.
- Maybe. I will think about this another day.
- What are you looking at? It's not me. - he said, chuckling
- Nothing. Forget about it.
- Should I be worried?
- For what?
- You.
- Me? Why?
- Lately, you are not in the mood to talk. I feel like you call me only when something has happened.
- No, that is not true. I.
- You what?
- I nothing. I'm sorry. I didn't want it to look like that.
- Relax. I'm happy when we talk. It puts me in a good mood.
- Really?
- Yes. We are friends. Right?
- Of course. You don't even need to ask me this.
- It's good to know.
I ended the call after an hour. I was looking at YouTube. They have a channel about me with more than fifty thousand subscribers. I clicked on one of their videos. There were no faces, but I could recognize the voices. It was Bryan and Jess. I don't know why they are doing this to me. I had my right to end everything with them. The fault that they lost fame is not mine. I'm not the one who cheated. I'm trying not to get bothered with this, but it's hard. I didn't do anything to them. If this is their way to get my attention and bring me down, it won't work. I hope that their plans will fail.
