The Gifted Ones

    " I know they are both gifted. You said any children we had would be gifted."" No I said any children we have might be gifted. There is always the chance we would have normal children. I guess our girls were the next in line to be normal."" I don't believe you. I am going to talk to the doctor and if he tells me any different you are going to be in real trouble."" John I swear to you the girls are normal."" Like I said I am going to go talk to the doctor and I will be back in an hour so don't think about leaving."      "Natasha, Amanda come here please."" What do you want Mommy?" Amanda asked. "Okay you know how we have been practicing with how we have been practicing with how to control your gift. Well we now need to start practicing with how to hide your gifts as well. Both of you must never let your father know about your gifts. I don't know what he is planning or what he has planned but if he finds out the truth it wont be good. So please learn this okay. What do you say girls?"" Alight Mommy I will learn.""What about you Amanda will you learn this?"" I'll learn Mommy I promise."" That's my girls. I wont let him hurt you and right now this is the only way to keep you safe. So lets go to the practice room and get to work okay."     " Now both of you sit down and relax the way we usually do. Good now instead of sending your gifts outside of yourselves, I want you to pull it back inside. First you Natasha, Now start slowly at first. Good girl that's it. Can you feel the difference?" " Yes Mommy, But it's a lot easier to send it out that to bring it back."" I know honey, and as you practice more it will get easier. And when your older you will understand why we have to do this. And when you are older you will get stronger so you will have to learn this anyway. Now that you have it pulled in I want you to think of a really big wall. make it a really big metal wall. then I want you to think of a door. when you have that I want you to lock the door. That's great Tasha, Now Amanda it's your turn. That's right do it just like Tasha did. Good you both did very well. Now I know this is hard for you to understand since your both only five years old , but I knew you would both be able to do this. Okay now both of you come here Mommy needs a hug."" Yes Mommy." "And Tasha one more thing. Since your the oldest."" But Mommy we are twins how can I be the oldest?"" Well baby you were born first. A whole two minutes before Amanda. So that makes you the oldest. Anyway you have to be careful and I hate to put this pressure on you but I need you ta watch over and take care of your sister. I wont always be here to protect you both so I need your help okay. And the most important thing is to never let your father know you have gifts."" But why Mommy"" Tasha I don't want to scare you but I am afraid of what he will do if he ever finds out about your gifts. I am afraid something bad will happen when he finds out about your gifts."      The girls look at each other then back at their mother and agree to keep the secret and to protect each other. "We promise Mommy to never let anyone know."" Good and you must always remember to be careful. Never forget that okay. Now go play and act normal before your father gets home okay."" Okay Mommy, Do you want to play store with us?"" Alright girls but we can't play long I still have to make dinner."      As Tia and the girls there is a knock at the door. When Tia opens the door there are two cops and a four and a half year old  little girl waiting there. She is Janet Tia's Niece. The cops tell Tia that both her sister and brother in law were killed last week and that their will asks that Tia is to become Janet's legal guardian. Tia agrees right away and Janet and the girls go upstairs while she signs the papers for the court and gets the rest of the details.      A week passed before John came home. And for some strange reason he is nice to everyone. Tia hopes that John forgot about the fight and accepts what she told him about the girls. Sadly later that night Tia got a surprise. A stranger, one of John's so called friends drops by for a visit. He only stays in the house for a few minutes, but he stays outside and talks with John for another twenty minutes. When John comes back inside he looks at Tia and the girls and says, "I see." Then he walks away. This scares Tia so she puts the girls to bed and prepares for the storm to break. Unfortunately the girls got scared when he said I see so they didn't go to bed when they should have. Instead they quietly followed Tia back down stairs and watched.      When John comes in Tia stands by the table and waits. John says, "You lied to me. They are all gifted, even that brat of your sisters. Chase tells me he can feel it. All three of them have gifts but it's restrained somehow. Now make them release it so I can use their powers to make money. What can they do anyway? Don't even think about lieng anymore.""NO! The doctor said they were normal. I don't know about Janet her mother never told me anything. Maybe she is gifted and that is what he felt?"" Come on women he said he felt three separate mind touches."" OH come on now of course he felt three separate minds they all have one."" Tia I swear if you don't make them cooperate I will kill you and them as well."" You will never harm those girls, you don't even love them. Why don't you just leave us alone?"" That's it I will make you listen. You will do as I say."      As all of this is happening Tasha runs over to the phone and dials 911. When John starts to go after Tia , Tasha drops the phone grabs the girls and runs out of the house. While the phone is hanging there the dispatcher is listening to everything. She sends the cops, fire department, and ambulance to the house. She warns them that there is a dangerous male and a women trying to protect female children. When the cops get there John is standing over Tia's body and the girls are running down the road.      A female cop gets out of the car and runs after the girls. While the five remaining large male cops go after John. It takes the cops ten minutes to take John down. They drag him to one of the police cars and shove him inside. The paramedics go in to help Tia. The female cop brings the girls back to the house, but she wont let them go inside. Natasha hears her name being called so she breaks away from the cop and gets inside. The other two follow her in. Then the cop follows them all. As the girls get near Tia the cop looks at the medic. The medic shakes her head just a little bit and the cop lets them be for the moment. The medic gets up and goes to the cop to tell her what she learned while the girls say good bye.      Tia looks at Tasha and says," Tasha darling please remember your the oldest, I need you to do your best and look after your sisters.Take care of them and protect them."" I will Mommy." Tasha agrees. Tia looks at the girls, reaches out and touches each one of their cheeks and says,"I love you all." Then she dies.
