CHAPTER 4

Lisa's POV "Is he crazy?", I wondered as i sat in my chair, turning around and flipping a pen between my fingers. I was red with anger. "Who does he think he is, kissing me like that?". I couldn't wrap my head around the conversation I heard between Alec and his father. So he had a reason for acting all stuck up and harsh. "What could she have done to break him this much and who is this Diana?", I thought to myself. I picked up my phone and searched for any Diana related to Alec. I found a couple of pictures but one caught my attention. It was a picture of a woman built like a goddess, standing beside Alec. He seemed so happy in the picture and I wondered what led to their breakup. "Diana Alexis, what a woman you are", I gasped and closed the tab on my phone. I had to get back to work. Alec's POV "What the heck did I just do?" , I said to myself and banged my hand on the table. "I can't be caught doing anything with my secretary. It's against the company's rules." I sighed as I walked to the mini refrigerator in my office. I took out a bottle of wine and I poured a little into a glass cup. It was well past the closing time when I walked out of my office. I found Lisa still working at her desk. She was engrossed in her work that she didn't notice when I walked up to her. "Go home!". My voice came out as a rude shock and she hurriedly stood to her feet to pack her bags. I watched as she walked out and wondered if she had a ride home. An hour later, my car pulled out of the premises. It was going to be a long ride home and I loosened my tie. I silenced my phone and relaxed back into the seat. "What's she doing here?", I said to myself as I spotted Lisa standing at a bus stop. "She's probably waiting for the bus", Andy said. "Stop the car. It's late already and the last bus is probably gone already." I peered at my wristwatch and saw it was almost 9pm. I stepped out of the car and walked up to her. She looked a little irritated and I felt sorry for her. Lisa's POV "What does he want this time?", I muttered to myself as irritation spread across my face. The last bus had gone and I needed to get to the hospital to visit my father. His condition worsened over the hours and I was worried. "Where are you headed?", he asked when he finally got to where I stood. "We can discuss in the car. Come along, let me drop you off", he added and I followed him almost immediately. It was getting dark and I was really tired of standing in a spot. When we got to the car, I told him all about my father's condition and he offered to come with me to see him. I was grateful that he asked to come with me. "That's so kind of you", I said as I led the way into the hospital wards. We soon arrived at the ward and he opened the door. We had stopped on the way to get flowers for my father. I was grateful for the support he offered and it was almost 12 am when we were done at the hospital. "I would find my way home from here now. Thank you for coming with me", I said as we walked out of the hospital. His driver kept the car running all the while we were gone. "Nonsense, you're coming home with me. We can come in to work together tomorrow morning", he said and walked into the car. I followed him like a lamb for s*******r.
