Surprise!

Slogan stared after the cub, changing forms as he ran in the direction of Jenny’s old pack. Then he looked at the envelope, it had the seal of her old pack in red but nothing else written on it. He frowned and tore it open, pulling a letter out then handed it to Jenny, who was now staring at him with her eyes wild with worry. Jenny took the letter and started reading it. ”Due to the circumstances of my daughter leaving the pack and joining a vampire clan I hereby relieve her of her duty as princess of the pack as she is disowned from me and her family. We will however pursue her at any cost for the death of one of ours. She is to be delivered to us by the vampire leader alone and no harm would be brought to any vampire. If not, I declare war on grounds of kidnapping the princess and holding her against her will. She will be dealt with then according to our laws.” Jenny’s hands were shaking and she handed the letter back to slogan then turned and walked to the kitchen, Slogan slowly following her while reading the letter. This is a load of bullshit you know! I wouldn’t be upset about it if I were you. This is just my father trying to push you into giving me to them so they can kill me themselves. Jenny handed him a cup of coffee and he took it softly from her hands, lightly brushing her fingers with his. Thanks love. Jenny smiled at that and reached up and kissed him softly on the cheek. Then sat at the counter across from Slogan, staring at him in silence while sipping from her own cup. Mage came in and sat down beside Jenny. Hey there sister, why are you guys looking so glum? Slogan pushed the letter across the counter towards Mage. This just got delivered by a young cub from her fathers pack; we need to get moving as soon as possible. They are coming for her and she is not ready for that kind of battle yet. So I suggest we pack up what we might need for the next month and get to London. We need to train and get everyone we can to fight. Mage nodded her agreement but couldn’t say a word. She knew that if she leaves her home might be destroyed and they won’t be able to rebuild until after the fight. That is if they win. Jenny jumped up and sniffed the air, her wolf making summersaults inside to get out. Someone was outside, watching, waiting. Slogan frowned. What’s wrong love? He asked. … We are being watched. How are we supposed to leave? Slogan got up and walked over to Jenny and pulled het closer to whisper in her ear. We can’t discuss any details in the house anymore, there might be bugs planted as well as cameras. Jenny nodded, I understand, she said. Mage frowned but followed them to her room. Once there Jenny looked at Mage and nodded towards her closet. Mage pressed on her belt and the doors opened. Then they all went inside and Mage closed the door. At the far end of the closet was another trap door that led to an underground tunnel. Careful not to make too much noise they moved through the trap door and Mage closed it behind them. At last they were able to breathe and talk normally again. Slogan was looking from Mage to Jenny and then back at Mage, who then started giggling again. What’s wrong brother? Didn’t think I had some secrets from you too now did you? Jenny laughed at them. You two are the strangest siblings I’ve ever had the chance to meet. Slogan smiled and pulled Jenny and Mage into a tight hug then kissed Jenny on her head. And you two are really sneaky, he said with a teasing tone in his voice. So sis, what is next? Any more surprises I should know about? Mage laughed. Only a few but you will know all of it soon enough. Let’s get walking. Jenny and Slogan followed Mage through the tunnel until she stopped at a dead end and pressed her palm against the right wall and then the left, then she stood close to the front wall her face millimetres from it while whispering into the wall. Slogans jaw dropped and Jenny was frowning as the wall started moving silently then opened to a huge room. Mage turned around to face them. Well, what are you waiting for? Let’s go. Slogan swallowed but walked in first after Mage, the room lighting up around the roof and then small lights around the walls started coming to life. Jenny came to a halt in front of a cupboard and opened it. There were three rug sacks filled with clothes, food and water. Jenny opened the one with her name on it. Jenny looked at Mage, how did you get hold of all my clothes I left at the pack? Slogan moved over to Jenny’s side, also frowning. Yeah sis, how did you get all this here when you were with us almost all the time? Mage laughed, I told you I have secrets too. But if you must know, the night we were attacked when you found me in your closet I went to Jenny’s old house, I have an ability that makes others blind to see me so I used it to get her things from her room. Unfortunately getting in wasn’t the problem, getting out, well lets just say my ability doesn’t work on things other than myself, so when I left her house I was spotted and they followed me for a while although they couldn’t keep up so I had time to get into the trap door before they got to the house. Then when I heard they were in the kitchen I left the bag and sneaked up behind them, I ripped of the first ones head, which explains the head in the freezer and the blood on the floor, the other two ran off with bruises and some broken bones. But I was scared they would return so I took as much as I could and stashed it in the tunnel then went into hiding in your closet. Slogan wiped a hand over his face again. What were you thinking Mage?! How could you put yourself in so much danger with no backup and not telling me about anything? Jenny took Slogans hands, which were now shaking, and pulled him closer. Hun, you should calm down, Mage is a grown woman and she is okay. No harm done. Jenny turned to Mage and gave her a hug. My dear friend and sister in law, I am very grateful for what you did. It was brave and completely stupid of you. But I understand why and I thank you. It means a lot to me since you did bring the important things other than just the clothes and shoes. I love you both so much. Mage smiled. Okay so are we just going to stand around here? I have one more surprise for both of you, but first we have to gear up. Mage clapped her hands together twice and another door opened. Another walk in closet. But this one has enough weapons for an army, bullets specially crafted with their own unique design with D.W printed into every last bullet. Guns and knives of all shapes and sizes all with the same D.W printed onto it. Slogan ran his fingers over the weapons. Mage, where did all this come from? Who are you and why don’t I know about this before now? I mean this is huge. Mage turned to her brother and a look of seriousness washed over her face. Well since you asked I will tell you but you both have to know that secrecy is of utmost importance. No one can find out because it will mean the end of us, and by us I mean the organisation I work with. I think you both better sit down for this. Jenny and Slogan simultaneously sat down on the couch in front of Mage. Interested in what she would be telling them next. Mage sat down opposite them and cleared her throat. When I was sixteen I was recruited by an organisation called “The Dark World”. I was trained by their best trainers and was granted immunity by all species and races. No harm can come to me. In time I earned my ranks and now I’m the CEO of this organisation. I have access to everyone linked to D.W and therefore I have a whole army up and ready waiting for my command. But because this is a personal matter I have to approach it carefully. I’m not allowed to use the organisation unless it’s really necessary. And if it involves family all family must be fully trained by our organisation and sworn into secrecy. And that my dear brother is where you two comes in. Our base is in Russia so we won’t be going to London tonight. Your people will be taken to our base and we will meet them there. For the next two weeks you will be training and you all would be under the protection of the D.W. Slogan jumped up, okay wait, you want to tell me that for years you have kept this secret, that you are part of some organisation I’ve never even heard of and that we are under surveillance since, who knows how long? That everything about you that I thought I knew, since we grew up together, is a lie? Wow Mage, this is… this is crazy. I would even go as far as to say, insane. Mage nodded. Unfortunately I had to hide it from you until now. And no, not everything was a lie. I am your sister, I do love you both and I will do anything and everything in my power to make sure that no harm would come to any of you. Jenny stood up then started getting some weapons together and putting it in a separate rug sack then turned to face Slogan and Mage. Well? Are you coming or what? Mage laughed and Slogan grabbed some of the bags as did Jenny and Mage. Soon as they had everything they started walking towards a sign reading “EXIT”. Once there Mage clapped her hands together again and the doors opened. Slogan dropped one of his bags. Are you kidding me?! Jenny came out from behind him to see what his fuss was about. Right there in front of them, was an oddly shaped plane. It was triangular but had blades like a helicopter on its roof and tail. What is this Mage? Mage giggled again, get in and I will show you, she said then walked past them and got into the plane. Jenny shrugged and followed Mage with Slogan right behind her. As he got in, the door closed and a soft hum vibrated through the plane. Well, said mage, sit down and fasten your seatbelts. You are on the one and only D.W Hover Master. Suddenly the soft hum stopped and all went dark and quiet. Slogan and Jenny drifted into a sleep like trance at that point and Mage knew that she would have to answer those questions too once they woke up. But not now, now she could relax knowing they were out of danger for the time being and no one would know they left the house. Mage opened her Laptop and typed in her password. She had to demolish the house and let everyone think that all three of them died in the house. So she activated the bombs planted all over the house then logged out of her Laptop and closed it. It’s done. Everything is gone. At least she would always have the memories of all the holidays she got to spend with her family and friends in that house. And one day she would rebuild it all and it would be like they never left. Mage set the course to Russia and the plane on auto pilot. It would be another 10 hours before they get to their destination so she drifted off to sleep.
