ALIONA'S POV
“My brothers and I never loved you, and we'll never claim you as our mate!” Tears pooled down at my cheeks, as Zane's words echoed at the back of my ears.
Mystic howled with pain inside me. My heart dropped to the pit of my stomach, and I could barely make out the surroundings around me, past the blurry vision of my tear-blinded eyes.
I was helpless. I tried to move, but my legs were totally stuck to the spot. I was on the brink of going out of my perfectly crafted mind.
Everything was happening so fast. The world spinned around me, and I felt dazed. My reality was seeping into my mind.
The Faron brothers never loved me. I was a pawn in their games all along. I zoned out, as my mind flashed back to the memories of the past year as their secret girlfriend.
The secret smile, each one of them flashed my way at the dining. The forehead kisses. Zane’s sweet promises, he whispered into my ears. Their promise to make me a woman on the night of my eighteenth birthday…everything was gone in ashes.
It was a facade afterall. An illusion they painted so bright, I almost thought I'd live in it for the rest of my life.
“She must really be clueless about how the world runs,” Maya snarked. “I'm sure she didn't know she was a frivolous distraction to the triplets. Sophia is their true love, and soon she'd be Luna of this pack,” Her voice buzzed with excitement.
Olivia chuckled. “That's right, Maya,” She paused, and added almost immediately, “The only thing orphan Omega knows how to do is, bury her head in books, and spend the whole day in the library, doing absolutely nothing,”
Tears stung at the corner of my eyes. Pain spiralled through my veins, punching hard at my guts. The slice of cake I had slouched in my stomach, and pushed up to my throat.
I held myself back from throwing the content all over the marble tiles. I could feel the intense gaze of the pack members over me.
Alpha Faron, and his mate, stood up from their sitting position and walked away, without saying a single word to me.
Just like the both of them, the rest of the pack members left the hall, whilst muttering incoherent words under their breath.
A surge of loneliness skittered through my veins. I was all alone in this world. Even though neither of them had touched me yet, I still felt used. Like I was nothing.
I'd just been dumped like a useless trash that wasn't worth it in the first place. I pulled my glasses away from the bridge of my nose, wiped my tears and placed it firmly back.
With the little streak of courage left inside of me, I dragged my feet and spun around to face the exit.
I'd barely walked a few inches, when Sophia's spiteful voice brought me to an abrupt halt. “Oh, poor little orphan with nobody to help her, except a dusty old Omega servant who answers to my parents,” She giggled.
Not Aunt Emma. To Sophia, and the rest of the pack, she might be a lowlife Omega who works her hands off for meager wages, but she was all I got. To me, she was the only thing that mattered.
I sniffled, held back the tears that threatened to spill, and spun around to face her.
Mystic reared her head, as she bared her fangs. At the slightest word, she was hell ready to strike!
‘Aliona, allow me to teach this spoiled brat a lesson. I promise you, I'll make it snappy,’ My wolf spat, her tone dripping with venom.
It took every bit of willpower in me, to hold Mystic back. I could taste the anger from her groans. She was sick of the way her mates didn't do as much as acknowledge her existence.
It was the worst thing that could happen to a wolf. “Don't speak about Aunt Emma in that manner,” I was surprised at how steady the words rolled out of my mouth.
Sophia scoffed, as she folded her hands over her chest. “Or else what? Say one more word, and I'll cut her paycheck in half, and make sure my father doubles her workload,”
The pain that pierced through my chest intensified. I wanted to speak, but that would mean putting Aunt Emma in more trouble. I wouldn't forgive myself for that.
So, I held back. She had the upper hands anyways, my mates had publicly chosen her over me. “Aliona, I swear by the moon goddess, you're not even ready for what's coming for you,” Her eyes were cold.
Everyone in the pack knew how callous Sophia was. Being the daughter of one of the pack's choicest warriors, from an elite family gave her an edge over everyone else.
She wasn't done, because she said, “When I finally become the next Luna, I promise you, Aliona, I'll make you regret your entire existence in this life,” Sophia spat, “Mark my words, Omega, I'll make your dead parents twirl in their graves by the time I'm done with you,”
I shook my head, and turned around on my feet, when she pulled me back by my hair. Pain travelled all over my face, and settled at the base of my skull.
I grabbed her hands, and tried to shove it off, when she let out a loud cry. “Zane honey, look what this b***h did to me,”
My eyes nearly popped out of its sockets. Zane's piercing eyes were cold, and distant. “Aliona, get a hold of yourself. What the hell has come over you, huh?” He sneered. Zane snaked his hands tightly around my wrist. “Stay away from Sophia, she's a better person than you'll ever be!”
I winced in pain. “Let. Me. Go!” I bit out the words, as Mystic scratched to come to the surface.
Zane ignored my protest, and tightened his grip instead. “You know, I was supposed to relieve you of your duties as a maid, but on second thought, how do I make you suffer for what you did to Sophia?” He snarled.
My heart pulsated in a ribcage.
He continued. “From now on, you're going to answer to Sophia,”
