Lilith opened her eyes to find herself in a room she had never seen before. The sun was flexing against the white wall to make the room light up. She didn't remember anything, but soon she heard Max's voice saying, "Oh, you're awake."
Lilith put both her hands on the bed and pushed herself up. After she sat, she ran her hand through her hair and then said, "What happened?"
Max put the tray of food on the table and said, "You fainted last night; sorry, I didn't have time to wake you up."
He handed her a glass of orange juice. She wanted to reject it, but her throat was aching from all the crying, so she just took it in silence. She didn't forget about the baby either; she was confused about it, but at least she won't kill it with hunger.
She shocked her head as a habit to shut the voices up, then she said after she took a few sips, "Now you have to explain a lot, don't you?"
Max took a deep breath, as that was tearing him apart. She raised her eyebrows at the scene. He opened his mouth several times but came up with nothing. Lilith wasn't that kind of person who would wait forever and give people their time; she had a very short temper, so she said, "What? didn't get ideas for good lies."
Max looked offended by that, and it seems that he also has the same short temper. He immediately snapped back at her, saying, "This is so f*****g hard; okay, I didn't hover around taking about the family that didn't want me as a member of it; I'm not like you."
Lilith just let out a small wow and took another sip. While Max facebalmed himself, that's not the conversation he wants to have with her. He sighed and then said, "I didn't mean to say that; it's just frustrating, I thought." He paused as if he were thinking about whether he should say what he had next or not, while Lilith kept her cool. With another sigh, Max said, "They manage to destroy my life. It doesn't matter how hard I try to settle it; they just came and smach it."
Lilth said in her cold voice, "So mama's boy has a family conflict."
Max said with anger, "It's all because of him, the one who ruined your life; he ruined mine too. You'll thank me that I didn't leave you at your house yesterday."
Lilith just sat there looking at him; she didn't want to say anything until he finished his episode, but it was surprising that he calmed down as fast as he got angry. Then he said, "I know your life was hard, but imagine being the only beta in a family full of alpha's; that's exactly the same as you are the omega in the family. I'm twenty-three years old, and my brother is still controlling my life. I left the whole district and my own pack, but he still got his fingers in my story, and I can't stop him. That's how powerful my brother is; I couldn't imagine him doing the same thing to you, so bringing you here is all I thought about."
Lilth couldn't say that she didn't feel sad for him; she knew that he wasn't lying; her omega wolf knew when people were lying; she didn't know how, but she could smell the feelings that the others were going through—not often, but right now she could smell his pain, and with that broken look in his eyes, she knew it was more than his bastard alpha brother controlling his life, but she of course wouldn't bring that up, so she simply nodded.
Max frowned at that; he thought she didn't believe him, but he got surprised when she said, "Thank you."
He looked confused. Lilith rolled her eyes and said, "Don't dream that I will say it again."
He couldn't hide that smile that broke through his flat lips. Lilith ran her hand through her hair again and said, "If my presious mother knew what happened, she'd be negotiating with your f*****g alpha brother about how much he would pay her, so I really mean it."
Max giggled at her and then said, "Your sense of humour is, um, unique, I must say."
Lilith smiled, then said, "Yeah, yeah, did you bring my phone, or this is a kidnapping?"
Max shacked his head and said, "Sorry, I didn't have time to."
They were interrupted by the doorbell. Max looked angry as hell as he cursed under his breath, then said, "Don't worry, it must be my roommate."
Lilith nodded as she started eating while Max headed out to open the door. He got startled by the smell; in fact, he didn't get any smell at all. His heart sank; the Alphas can hide their scent; he knew that his brother would eventually find them, but not that fast; and as he was thinking about how to run with Lilith, a high-pitched angry voice along with the bell ring said, "Open the damn door, you little bitch."
Max screamed, "s**t, Mom."

The previous night at Lilith House
Alexander was facing April, who was shevering under his sharp gaze. She stuttered as she said, "I, I told you, she's not; I swear she's not."
Alxander just stepped forward, which made April step back as a reflex until her back hit the kitchen bar. Then he hissed, "Did you think I didn't know that? I know everything. I just wonder where you got that confidence that I wouldn't find you."
April said, "Your father, who.."
Alexander cut her in anger, saying, "Don't spit a word about my father, b***h; just be thankful for him that I kept you alive."
He backed away and was about to leave when he said, " Oh, I forget, congrats, you will be a grandma soon."
