The loud noise Jason made on his motorcycle immediately attracted a horde of zombies who had been wandering aimlessly through the streets.
Within mere seconds, the horde of zombies pounced on him like starving beasts.
Everything went exactly as he'd expected. He didn’t even blink. Wherever his motorcycle went, gunshots rang out and the zombies’ flesh and blood flew in all directions!
He fired the g*n so many times that the muzzle became hot. His ammo dwindled rapidly, but more and more zombies kept coming.
Jason panted. Not a single part of his body was clean.
He shot down a zombie who pounced forward and tried to grab his handlebars, and a lump of shredded rotten flesh spattered in his eye.
He panicked and wiped his eye with the back of his hand holding the g*n.
From his blurred field of vision, he suddenly spotted a zombie rushing up from behind him. He shuddered, and was just about to be bitten when he pressed his foot against the ground and swung the motorcycle sideways, causing it to slide. The tires skidded against the ground, making a loud noise and smashing the zombie’s legs.
At that moment, more and more zombies gathered around him. There was no doubt that Jason’s plan to distract them was working.
He looked like a superstar who'd been surrounded on the street by adoring fans. No matter how many zombies he killed, more of them kept rushing towards him. It was more spectacular than any music festival he'd ever attended.
The zombies kept coming. There were far more of them than he had ever imagined.
As his strength failed, more flesh and guts became entangled in the motorcycle’s wheels, making it increasingly difficult for him to fight his way out.
As his g*n heated up, he clenched his teeth and squeezed his way between two zombies. Their claws brushed against his scalp and tore a lock of hair out of his head.
Jason didn't feel any pain, but he felt a little bit of fear when his hair was pulled.
When he reached the end of the street, he saw that Lily and the others had already entered the waterway two hundred meters away, leaving just Zoe who was about to head down inside.
Jason’s eyes lit up, "Great! The plan worked!"
Zoe, who was squatting at the entrance to the waterway, also saw him, but didn't dare call out to him. She could only wave to him anxiously from a distance.
Jason accelerated in the direction of the entrance to the waterway, but a horde of zombies rushed in from all directions and stopped him.
Meanwhile, some zombies had found Zoe and the others. Following their smell, they stumbled in the direction of the entrance.
Dylan and the others were already hiding in the waterway. They couldn’t see what was happening on ground level, but they could hear the footsteps and distinctive wheezing of the zombies as they approached.
“Quick! Get down here! Put the lid on!” Dylan yelled at Zoe.
“No,” Zoe said, “We must wait for Jason!”
“What the f**k?!” Dylan shouted at her, “Put that damn lid on! Now!”
Seeing the zombies getting closer and closer to the entrance, Zoe became more and more nervous, her breathing heavier and heavier.
She took out two daggers and stared straight ahead. Once those zombies got closer, she would kill them in one go!
But…
There were too many of them…
Also, Jason was completely surrounded by a large horde of zombies and she couldn't see him at all.
In her desperation, Zoe, who'd completely exposed herself to the zombies, shouted without a thought for her own safety, "Jason!”
Dylan’s face was purple with rage as he roared at her from below, “b***h! Put the damn lid on! Damn it!”
“Boss!” Dylan’s followers said, “Let’s run! Or else it’ll be too late!”
The zombies were so close now that they could even smell the stench of their breath.
Zoe was nervous and sweaty. Her palms were so wet that she could hardly hold her daggers.
Jason!
Could he...
Zoe was in despair when she saw the horde of zombies surrounding Jason seemingly attracted by something and running in another direction.
Zoe was puzzled.
There was a strange noise. The horde of zombies that had been ready to pounce on her suddenly turned around, as if they'd smelt something interesting, and stumbled elsewhere.
There seemed to be fresh flesh that had brought the two hordes of zombies together, and they were actually fighting each other for it.
Zoe was puzzled.
The zombies were fighting violently when a gunshot sounded and a zombie was shot and fell to the ground. Jason’s motorcycle ran over it as he drove fast in Zoe’s direction.
Zoe almost sprang to her feet on the spot, yelling “Jason!”
Jason was soaked in the zombies' blood.
Even though the swarm of zombies had been attracted to something, the streets were so narrow that it wasn't easy for Jason to find an escape route.
Noticing that he was about to be cut off again, he threw something in his hand into the distance. The swarm of zombies immediately rushed forward and scrambled for it, giving Jason an empty road.
Bullet comments containing question marks flooded across the livestream screen.
[What the hell? What did he just throw?]
[Idiots, haven’t you worked it out yet?]
[What the f**k?! It’s not… the hand he just cut into several pieces, is it?]
[Yes! It’s real! He fed his own hand to the zombies! What a complete lunatic...]
[Hahaha! I have to say, this lunatic is both tough and smart! I didn’t expect him to lure the zombies away like that!]
[This guy is really unusual...]
The zombies were ferocious, but they were still just corpses. They could only act on their instinctive desire for flesh and blood.
Jason had cut his broken forearm into several pieces and put them in his pocket. That way, he could use his own flesh to lure the zombies away when necessary.
He even thought that if these pieces of flesh weren't enough, he could also cut some more off his body whenever he needed to.
Zoe was amazed at his behavior, thinking he was an absolute madman.
He was a madman who cared about nothing. This seriously impressed her.
Seeing victory at his fingertips, Jason immediately stepped on the gas and accelerated forward.
However, a terrible situation suddenly occurred.
The motorcycle ran out of gas. Jason was halfway towards the waterway when his bike came to an awkward halt.
Jason sweat anxiously, “What?!”
“Jason! Behind you!”
Zoe shouted, and the two daggers in her hands moved faster than her brain. They whistled through the air like two streaks of black light, nearly brushing Jason’s cheeks. They flew past his head and pierced the eyes of two zombies next to him.
The two zombies wobbled and fell to the ground.
He looked back, and quickly untied the cloth that was holding his broken forearm to the handlebars of the motorcycle.
The pieces of flesh that he'd thrown weren’t enough to keep the bloodthirsty zombies fighting for long, as they'd be gobbled up in no time. Meanwhile, Jason himself, like meals on wheels, became their biggest target.
The zombies all rushed towards him as he struggled to untie the knot which was firmly tying his arm to the handlebars.
Jason broke out in a cold sweat. The zombies closed in on him from all directions, he yanked away with a loud yell and tore the cloth apart before quickly rushing towards the entrance of the underground waterway.
“Quick!”
Zoe shouted and threw two more daggers to cut the neck of a zombie which was only one meter away from her.
Dylan and the others were shouting at her down below. Panting heavily, Zoe slew two more zombies. Suddenly, she discovered a dense horde of nearby zombies rushing towards her.
If the zombies chased them down the underground waterway, they would be finished.
Dylan cursed wildly and tried to run away, picking up Lily who was a living map. Lily cried out in fear.
Jason ran as fast as he could. Zoe’s back was soaked with sweat.
He was just one step away from the underground waterway. Half of her body was inside as she held out her hand to him, yelling “Quick!”
Suddenly, a huge zombie jumped out of a second-floor window and leaped down on top of Jason’s head!
Jason looked up, becoming face to face with the falling zombie.
The lower half of the zombie’s face was completely rotten. There were two rows of dirty teeth in its open mouth, making it look like it was laughing wildly.
As Jason was staring straight at the zombie, the spectators in his livestream also got to see a close-up of the zombie's face. It looked like it'd been dead for a month. They were so startled that they cursed loudly!
Just as the zombie was about to bite Jason in the face, he leaped into the underground waterway. Zoe quickly pulled the heavy lid across, and with a loud bang, the entrance was tightly closed.
Jason and Zoe fell down together. The waterway wasn't very high, but it wasn’t short either, at nearly two meters high.
Jason wrapped his arms around Zoe, twisting his body in the air and positioning himself underneath her.
Zoe only felt a sudden shock and didn't feel the pain of falling from high up that she'd anticipated. She even felt like the landing was a little soft.
When she came to her senses, she realized that Jason was underneath her, and his arms were wrapped tightly around her.
She was tall and plump, so she wasn’t light. Her weight would be too much for anyone under her, but Jason smiled at her as if he hadn’t noticed that anything was wrong.
Zoe was about to speak when Jason’s face turned pale. He suddenly raised his hand and slapped something behind her head so hard that it went flying into the air.
The object smashed against the wall, flesh and blood covering the wall and slowly sliding down.
Zoe looked back at the object, which turned out to be the face of the zombie that had just jumped down from the second floor.
Clearly, when she'd closed the sharp lid, she'd also cut the zombie’s face off, which had fallen down with them.
Now, only the zombie's face remained. Its teeth were still mechanically closing and opening, almost like it was provoking Jason and Zoe.
Their bodies pressed against each other as they looked at the face that could no longer pose any threat to them, yet still filled them with fear. Then, they both heaved a huge sigh of relief.
Having recovered from the tense situation, Zoe went limp and lay on Jason’s chest to rest.
Jason had no idea know where to put his hands or whether to remind Zoe that she was on top of him.
He had never held a girl like this his entire life.
Maybe it was okay for him to hold her like this for a while longer?
