Chapter12

[012] [Hey! What did I say before? They’re cuddling now!] [What’s going on? That face is making me feel nauseous, but those two are beginning to put on public displays of affection.] [Why can’t we feel what they're feeling, and not just see what they're seeing? This chick is so hot.] [That guy is so lucky!] Jason himself couldn't see the bullet comments riddled with overwhelming jealousy in the livestream. Even when Zoe's breathing became even and she offered to slip out of his arms, his eyes were still a little blank. “Did I hurt you?” Zoe asked. “No... It didn’t hurt at all,” Jason said. “As I said before, I have a strange disease, so I can’t feel any pain.” Zoe gave him a meaningful look and said with a smile, “That's a really useful disease.” She didn’t seem to believe him completely, and felt that he was being superficial. As Jason tried to explain, Zoe straightened up and looked back at the immobile ugly face still stuck to the wall. She was still scared by it. “We have to get out of here quickly.” Following her, Jason got up and touched his body from top to bottom in case there was a broken bone or a big cut that he hadn't noticed. If he was seriously injured, there would be big trouble. Thankfully, he was fine. Just as Lily had said, there wasn't a single zombie in this underground waterway. However, it was full of dirty water and had a pungent stench. From time to time they could see dismembered limbs and entrails floating in the water. They had no choice but to endure the stench and carry on walking. The stench was nothing compared to dying. Soon, they'd arrived back at the place they'd entered the world without a hiccup. As soon as Dylan and his followers got out of the waterway, they left Jason and the others behind and ran over to the wall to search for weapons. They stuck out their buttocks and looked around, inspecting the cracks on the corners of the wall, but still found no sign of the toolboxes. Jason stood to one side, shrugging his shoulders and saying “I told you there was a time limit to get the toolboxes. A strange, scary mouth appeared after they disappeared.” While speaking, Jason pointed towards the position in his memory, and suddenly discovered that there was something strange about the wall. Dylan and the others ignored him. They were hell-bent on finding some weapons, so they didn't notice the thing that Jason was attracted to as he slowly approached the wall. “You found it, too?” Zoe said as she followed him. The two of them looked at each other. The wall looked fairly normal at first glance. It was just a half-destroyed brick wall covered in blood and graffiti, like any wall in the slums of any city. Only when they got close enough to the wall did they find out that it seemed to be moving... There seemed to be a strange creature constantly heaving inside the wall, causing strange fluctuations. The wall, which was originally solid, turned into soft skin heaving together with it. “It looks like a portal to another dimension,” Jason said. He was so bold that he bent down and scrutinized the strange thing. Hearing this, Dylan immediately ran over, thinking Jason had found something useful. However, he hadn't expected that Jason was simply fascinated by a broken wall. “The entrance to another dimension?” Dylan asked. He narrowed his eyes and looked at Jason, as if he were a fool. “You mean this rubbish graffiti?” Jason and Zoe were surprised. The unusual fluctuations on the wall were so obvious, but Dylan only noticed the graffiti. They looked at each other secretly and guessed what was going on. Maybe it wasn't because Dylan’s vision was wrong, but... Even Lily who stood next to them looked dazed, as if she really didn’t know what they'd seen and why they were so excited about a dirty wall. Jason raised an eyebrow at Zoe and whispered in her ear, “Could it be possible that only we can see it?” “Maybe... that must be how it works,” replied Zoe. When Jason looked at the wall again, the frequency that the strange thing breathed became faster and faster, and it almost pierced the wall, as if it were warmly inviting Jason and Zoe to come closer. Jason’s heart was warmed and he held out his hand. Zoe was startled, as she hadn't expected he would dare do that. [That lad’s got a lot of balls.] [Well, he’s hit the jackpot now... I didn’t discover the biggest secret in the World of Terror until I reached Level 10.] [I bet Jason’s got, like, ten balls.] The moment Jason’s fingertips touched the strange restless thing, a bright light struck him and Zoe, almost blinding them. When their vision returned, they found that the dirty little wall had disappeared. In its place, was a magnificent door, open wide for them. The rose-gold door displayed a splendid nobility, and was connected to a long corridor. The marble floor was so clean and shiny that there wasn't a speck of dust on it. It was a far cry from the broken city which was full of decay. Jason and Zoe could even faintly smell a pleasant fragrance and hear the elegant sound of string instruments. There were voices at the end of the corridor, and the faint sounds of a conversation between a salesperson and a customer. Jason and Zoe were stunned. “It’s really... another world?” Jason’s heart raced as he listened to the transaction, and hears words like “guns” and “bullets”. His eyes were fixed on the number of bullets in the upper right corner of his field of vision. He originally had 500 bullets, but now there were only 145 left. They were running out too fast. More than half of them had been used, but he didn’t even know what the task was yet. He couldn’t go on like this. Jason had asked Zoe before, who said there was a limit on the number of daggers she had too. If she used up all her daggers, she might not have any left. Jason analyzed the situation, and said “Since this world enables us to earn points by completing missions, there might be a place where we can replenish our ammo, right? Maybe it's right here.” Zoe began, “You mean...” Before Zoe could finish her sentence, Jason walked through the door. “Aren’t you afraid it might be dangerous in there?” Zoe whispered behind him. Jason lifted his g*n, ready to shoot any monster that might emerge from the end of the corridor. “It might be dangerous, but it also offers us a chance,” he replied. Zoe said, “I think your strange illness makes you extremely daring, instead of preventing you from feeling pain!” Even though she complained about his behavior, Zoe was so excited by his quick decision, that she took out two daggers and followed him towards the end of the corridor. Dylan watched Jason and Zoe walk towards the wall, thinking they were crazy. He waited to watch the two fools bump face first into it so that he could laugh at them. Much to his surprise, when they stepped forward, they suddenly disappeared into the wall, as if they'd been swallowed by it. “What?!” Dylan exclaimed. His followers were also dumbfounded. The three of them touched the wall for a long time, but they found nothing but dirt and rotten flesh. They looked at one another and remained speechless for a long time.
