You never know

Chapter 3

I coughed and averted my gaze from him. I settled down on my seat ignoring him. I saw him from the corner of my eyes as his smile faded and his eyes filled with hurt and disappointment and was quietly watching my every move. Just then, the teacher entered from the other side and asked if both of us had reached.

we replied almost together. "yes!" and then none of us could stop ourselves and we laughed. Then, tearing that paper from my chemistry notebook, I handed over to him  and I could see some nervousness in him also. He must be thinking if I had rejected him. Just when he was about to open it, the teacher entered and so in a hurry, he just crumbled the paper into his hands.

And then, he hid that paper in his jeans. He  was constantly looking on his pocket while the teacher was teaching and I was constantly looking at him to see his reaction. After finishing the limitations of Rutherfoed's model . the teacher asked if we were tired. He just asked for a glass of water and by that time, he opened the paper and read whatever was written inside. he was just trying to say something and I was eagerly waiting for his reply. Then, only the teacher came with a glass of water. He drink that water in a single sip. Then, Ms. Mehta asked if we can start with Planck's Quantam theory . We both agreed. Then, She started teaching the topic but we were totally distracted. We were constantly gazing each other. Only the pumping of my heart was audible to me and rest everything was inaudible. I noticed that his leg was constantly shaking. Atlast, the topic was finished and then, it came the time for asking queries. The teacher asked if we have any query. Both of us replied that we understood everything and there are no doubts. The teacher asked if she can ask questions from whatever she has taught. He told mam to please give us a break for 5 min. The teacher agreed and then, someone called her . she picked up the phone and asked us to excuse for 2 min. 

Abhay said," what should I understand from your reply?"

I said," I don't know."

He was looking at me and then said that it was just a dare, I was given by my friends during a game. I had to propose some girl and he hoped that I'll not take it seriously and everything will remain same between us.

                                 THE LETTER

Nobody has ever proposed  me before. So, I am unaware of how to react at the situationand at this stage, I don't want to get into any relationship. you may be finding my behavior strange and honestly speaking I am like this only and didn't you get any other pretty girl than me to propose?

Then, we laughed. We reacted as if nothing happened. Then, he told me that he wanted six packs like his brother. He showed me his brother's photograph.

I said," It is not easy and don't even fool yourself that it will be a cake walk."

he asked," Don't you think I can do it?"

I teasingly replied,"honestly, speaking no"

he said," you will see."

I said,"I will see how you are gonna prove me wrong."

The little conversation between us has diverted everything and now again, we were back the way we were at first.
