Chapter 7

Ronald woke up around 6 p.m. It was only an hour left for him to prepare for the ceremony. It dawned on him that he was going to be the leader of the pack. It was a huge decision but he made up his mind. He could not back down before he started. He went to take a shower and dressed up. He must be there to receive the visitors as they came in. He went downstairs to see the house heavenly decorated. It was not something new to him to see their house as beautiful as this. There were chairs placed at a high corner for the elders and his father. His father was not down yet, he noticed.

By 6:30 the elders started arriving. Elder Blake was the first to arrive. He was known to be the silent one, all he did at meetings was sit and watch. He only voiced his opinion whenever he was asked to talk. Ronald bowed down to him while the elder just nodded his head as he went to sit.

Elder Trevor was the next to arrive. He was the leader of the elders because of the way he handled situations. Ronald thought if it was not that he was an elder, he would have loved him to be his beta.

"Ronald, are you still my son? You've grown up a lot than I expected. hope it is not that you are planning to take over this night because I do not know why your father called a ceremony like this." Elder Trevor said.

"Good evening Elder, I hope your journey was not that stressful. I am doing well Sir. My father would be down any moment from now on. You can take your seat over there." Ronald replied him.

Elder Trevor nodded his head in satisfaction. He had known Ronald was to take the Alpha position that has been partly vacant for months. He just decided to ask him and see what he would say. He had thought Ronald would clamber to him that they were here to crown him as an Alpha. But he did not fail to surprise him. He walked to his seat and saw Elder Blake on his seat, watching Ronald as he moved up and down to welcome the visitors.

"Do you think he would make a good Alpha?" Elder Trevor asked Elder Blake.

"Hmmmn, I am sure he would. He just needs to get ready for some challenges. I can sense the nervousness in him." Elder Blake replied to him.

Elder Trevor knew better than to press Elder Blake further. He was known to apeak little, observe more.

Soon, all the elders arrived and Alpha Frederick came down. As soon as Elder Trevor saw him, they all stood up from their seats to welcome the Alpha. Alpha Frederick hugged them all one by one before taking his seat. Everyone took their seats after the Alpha sat down. Ronald came to sit at the lowest chair on the high table before the Alpha stood up to talk.

"I welcome you all to this impromptu ceremony. We would not take much of your time as we know that a lot of you have lots of loads on your plate. Feel free to mix around and talk to people. We would be back to deliver the announcement shortly to you."Alpha Frederick said before walking upstairs with Ronald

Ronald left him as he walked and went to call Sophia's parents. He knew what was next to do and told them both to go upstairs as the Alpha would like to see them. Both Eric and Delilah were surprised because they had done nothing to be called by the Alpha. Nevertheless, they went upstairs to meet the Alpha.

Alpha Frederick was already on his seat by the time they arrived. Both Sophia and Ronald were standing beside him. Delilah felt insecure the more she saw this.

" Why did you call us here?"Delilah asked.

Alpha Frederick looked up at her and knew how Sophia got to her. She was the only best person left that could watch the child.

"Thank you for taking care of her since all these days. You might not know yet but Sophia standing here, Alpha Frederick said pointing to Sophia. This girl is my daughter that the moon goddess dropped at your place when the previous Luna died and her mother died. You should know what I'm talking about." Alpha Frederick said.

Delilah was surprised at the same time sad. She had not expected Sophia to be related to the Alpha. She had just gotten back from her shop when she saw a woman floating inside her house. She was surprised to see the moon goddess in her house. She noticed she was carrying a baby. Without informing her, she knew what to do. She has been assigned by the moon goddess to take care of the baby. She did not tell her husband about this. She only told him she found the baby and wished to take care of it. Because her husband doted on her very much, he accepted the baby as long as it makes her happy.

"Yes, your highness., Delilah said.

Eric was the next to be sad. He did not care if the moon goddess dropped Sophia he knew the girl make his wife happy and he would not like her to be lonely at home when they've loosed their only child.

"You can come and stay here in the house with us mother. I know how you do on Sophia and I don't want to see you sad. Stay with us here and live with us. You get to see your precious daughter every day and gist on a lot of things together." Ronald said.

Delilah thought about it. It would be nice if she could stay here and see Sophia It will relieve her of the loneliness if her husband traveled. And she will still get to taste her delicious cookies and cakes, she thought.

"Let my husband and I talk about it. We will get back to you." Delilah said.

"The offer stands for your husband also. You both can move in anytime you've decided. It's the least we can do for you. And I am very sure Sophia would still like to see you every day" Aloha Frederick said smiling at Sophia.

Sophia was with mixed emotion. She was at first sad that she won't see her foster parents again and now she was praying with all her heart that they accept the offer most especially her mum. She had gotten used to her that she was unsure if she would be able to live without her.

"Okay, your highness. We would tell you after we've made our decision." Eric said.

"Then shall we return to the party? We've gone for too long, they will be awaiting us now." Alpha Frederick said and they all went down to the party.
