Chapter 3

Carmen Pov

It was bright sunny mornings as I was awakened by the bright blinding rays of the sun coming through windows. I got out of bed and jumped as my feet touched the cold floor. I made my way to the bathroom.

I brushed my light blonde hair and washed up. I grab my clothes and as soon as possible I finished I went to the kitchen to grab some breakfast for me. I pour some oatmeal for me and washed dishes to save time for coffee. Once I grab everything I locked my apartment and got out from the door. Within five minutes I reach to the coffee shop, my eyes locked to the same pretty café girl. Her hairs are little messy but still looks far pretty. Maybe I can talk to her or approach her because as per my experience she was quite interested in me. I walk towards the counter and called her loudly.

“Hey Betty, can you please give Iced Caramel Macchiato”? I said smilingly

Once she looks at me I can see she was smiling brightly, “Sure, Carmen”. After making payment she informs me to wait for few minutes. She was ten shades brighter and anyone can say that she was excited to see me again. I turn and go to the same seat where I seat yesterday also.

After few minutes Betty came with my order and gives me smile brightly. When she was about to turn I grab her hand to stop. She immediately trembles with my move and starts shaking little.

“Umm…. Ahhhh….. What happened? Something wrong?” she said nervously

“Well no not like that I just need to talk to you. Do you have some minutes to talk with me?” I said politely. I don’t want her to freak out but I can see she was absolutely nervous and shy from me.

“Hmm…. Yes sure” she said slowly

“Please sit down with me for a while if you don’t have any problem,” I said and she gets to settle down next to me.

She was still looking down and smiling shyly. Well, I can’t blame her, the way I act makes anyone uncomfortable. But still I am happy she is not uncomfortable, she is kind of too much nervous which is kind of cute. The smile on her face I couldn’t resist anymore. She looks so beautiful and simple makes me giggle.

‘So Betty, you live alone or with someone?’ I asked her curiously. She looks at me and politely said, ‘No I live with younger brother and sister.’ We both interact with each other for few more minutes & she also asked me lots of questions too before she realized her manager called her for work. She gets up from her seat and smiles at me while saying “See you later”. I got to know lots of thing about her, well she is single which is good news for me and she works very late in café to earn extra. She is much younger than me but she is kind of much mature. I feel an instant connection with her. She was the simple and decent person who is taking care of her small family. She was so young but she takes her all responsibilities seriously.

After completing my coffee I walk towards her and put my card in her hand. “Message me on my number,” I said her with smiling face. Without any other discussion I left the café I hope she will message me soon enough.

Betty POV

When I woke up this morning I was everything was normal as usual. I prepare lunch for Grace and Adam and help them to go to school. It was my daily routine without any other excitement. But sometimes good things happened instantly in your life.

When I reach my café I wasn’t expecting Carmen to show up with the big smile on her face. I was freeze for a movement I could not believe that she was here and all above that she was actually looking for me. I was sure that she actually came for me I can see her eyes; she was looking at me continuously. Those blonde hairs and wet lips making my heart jump fast enough. All this time she gazes at me with the brightest smile I have ever seen, till I informed her to grab a seat and wait for her order.

Once I walk towards her with her order, my heart again beating fast. Suddenly she grabs my hand and for a movement I think my heart stop beating. She looks at me with so much confidence that I couldn’t resist my urge towards her. She offers me to sit with her but I was nervous all the time that I couldn’t able to meet my eyes with her. Frankly, I was so nervous and shy I was shaking a little too. Somehow, she also sense the same but when I again my eyes with her all my nervousness vanished instantly. She was quite calm and very generous to me. I never date anyone in my life because heavy pressure on my shoulders. We talk to each other and I try to be honest as much as I can. It’s not like I have anything to hide but somehow I was nervous. I was so lost in her eyes I didn’t realize when my manager called me and he was staring at me. Of course I work here not like I came here on date. When I went back to counter I couldn’t able to stop thinking about her. I realize she was standing on counter looking at me with that same bright smile that could melt anyone heart instantly. She put her card in my hands and told me to message her back and left from the café. My heart skips some beats and my mind was dizzy that I couldn’t stop my smile. I grab my phone from purse and message her “Hey, it’s Betty. Girl from the café store.”
