Episode #1:
It was the first day of college in the hardest college to graduate. They are attending the hardest college to get in and finish. It was the most competitive, and difficult school of its time for people that wanted to be able to go to college at that college. And it is also the best one that will let them do what they want while studying in the same dorm as many other people their age and not just a few people who are there because they’re friends or family members. It’s not going to be easy.
As you walked down the hall, looking for your dorm room you saw several guys dressed in all black standing around and talking among themselves. One guy was wearing a hoodie that said ‘Fashion Police’ on it and another had on an all-black shirt that had a picture of some sort of robot from some sci-fi movie on it. You were confused but decided not to look any further as you headed toward your dorm.
When you opened the door, you were greeted with a loud noise and almost fell face forward if it wasn’t for two hands grabbing your arms and pushing you up against the door. You groaned slightly annoyed but looked back over to whoever pushed you and were surprised to see that it was one of the guys in black holding onto your arms. You didn’t even realize that he moved you until now.
You stared into his eyes wide-eyed and he just stared back at you with an equally surprised expression. His hair was pulled back into a small ponytail and he was wearing some type of dark jeans and a light brown shirt underneath the jacket that he has on. His eyes were very green, like emeralds, and looked to have some kind of shine to them. His jawline was strong and defined and his nose a little small yet cute as well. He seemed to be staring right through you as he kept on staring at you like he never expected to see you again. It was a little scary. After what seemed like ages, after realizing what happened the boy finally spoke up.
“Oh my gosh! I am so sorry! I was being such an ass!” he said looking extremely embarrassed as he released you.
“No, it's fine…” you muttered, still looking slightly dazed by everything.
The boy let out a deep sigh before speaking up once more, “My name is Alex, I’m your roommate this year and I swear I did not mean to grab you like that, I just got distracted for a second…” Alex paused for a moment as you gave him a small smile, hoping to ease up his nervousness.
“I don’t know why it bothers me so much though” he continued to say looking down. You watched as he fidgeted with his fingers, trying to find the words that he was looking for.
“I guess I just feel like I’ve known you forever and I can’t help but feel like we’ve been apart for years when we haven’t. I don’t know how to explain it but I just feel like I’d miss you if you weren’t here…” As the boy trailed off, you couldn’t help but wonder how exactly did Alex expect you and his roommates to work together? Were you supposed to hang out every single night? Do group projects during lunch? What? You couldn’t even begin to imagine how awkward it would be if he was your roommate and he didn’t make it past orientation. Maybe it was better to stay friends rather than become close acquaintances with someone you only knew from your college career and then have to spend the rest of your life living and working under the same roof. You decided to give Alex a chance. You could always end up hating each other in the process of living under the same roof. Right now though, that was not something you cared about right now.
“Hey, maybe we should just forget about it and try to move on” you suggested. “I’m sure things will be a lot easier now that everyone is going to live in the same dorm building”. Alex looked up and sighed heavily.
“Yeah maybe…” he mumbled before giving you a small smile. “I don’t think we need to dwell too much on the past though, right?” you nodded and smiled back at him.
You both stood in silence for a minute before you suddenly heard footsteps coming closer.
“Is there someone else in here?! Why are the lights off?” you heard a voice yell. “Did someone break in??” Alex took a step back slightly.
You turned away from him as you realized that it was probably the RA or something. The lights went on and suddenly a tall boy appeared behind Alex. He didn’t appear as intimidating as he first appeared. He looked quite friendly and welcoming. You watched as Alex quickly stepped away from him before turning and walking away slowly. As Alex began leaving, he mumbled, “
Good luck.” He disappeared from view.
The tall boy looked at you curiously and you could tell he wanted to ask about Alex.
He cleared his throat awkwardly before saying, “I’m Shiro. Sorry about that. He can be a bit overbearing sometimes” he apologized before reaching his hand out to shake yours. “Are you new?” he asked and you felt yourself freeze up at the question. Was it obvious to everyone around you how intimidated you were? You nodded slightly and replied with a small “Yeah”. You hated having people know about that part of your life.
Shiro seemed satisfied with the answer and started telling you about his roommate, Keith. It turns out that Keith didn’t know anyone else besides Shiro and the two of them were already starting the year. They told stories about their friends and classes that they were taking and talked about where they are currently studying. By the time it was getting late, you were feeling pretty comfortable around Shiro. He was nice and seemed to genuinely care about his roommate. You were glad that you made a friend today.
After saying goodbye to Shiro, you headed back to your dorm room. You were exhausted and ready to sleep. You were excited to start your new semester tomorrow.
