"I'm sorry, I just thought you were so cute that I wanted to tease you," He said this while grinning mischievously at me. That made me roll my eyes.
"So, why is there no one here? Are there just the two of us? Jodie isn't even downstairs,” I honestly have no idea what's going on. He just chuckled and walked away.
"Hey! Where are you going?" I followed him because he's a weirdo. I tried to catch up to him, then grabbed his arm.
"You didn't really answer my question, don't you think it's a bit rude?" He then looked at me up and down and formed an irritating smirk on his face. "Wow, that's a bit rich coming from you,"
I looked at him, puzzled as to what he was implying. "Excuse me, but I don't recall ever being rude to you," He then approached me and looked me in the eyes.
"Are you sure you don't remember ignoring my friendly smile?" My eyes widened in surprise. Oh, I remember, Ugh, so he really thought I was rude.
I then scratched my head and looked at him with guilt in my eyes. "I'm sorry about that," He then laughed and patted me on the head.
"I'm completely kidding; I'm not upset about it," That elicited an awkward chuckle from me. At the very least, he wasn't upset about it.
He then looked at me with a strange expression on his face, saying, "You know you're really cute, that's why I like to tease you a lot,"
Why was this guy suddenly saying this to me? Is it possible that he likes me? I'm truly baffled. He then began to walk away again, and I simply followed him.
He sat in one of the chairs, and I sat beside him, but not close to him; I kept my distance. "Can you please respond to my question earlier?" He then looked at me giggling. "Haven’t you figured it out yet? You're having a dream,"
I then looked at him, as if he were insane. He then shouted "Rumi, wake up. Wake up!" I then jerked my eyes open and began to sweat profusely. It was all a dream, damn.
It's no surprise, no wonder everything was strange. When I looked at the time, it was still 4 a.m. I got out of bed, went to the bathroom, and washed my face to wake myself up.
I guess I was tired, which is why I've been dreaming about that guy lately. Strange dreams, to say the least. After wiping my face, I exited the bathroom and was greeted by the same guy I had dreamed about earlier.
He was sitting comfortably in my bed. I let out a shrill scream. "What are you doing in my room?! What do you want from me? I'm going to call the cops!" I then dashed to my bedside table to grab my phone.
He then approached me and attempted to soothe me. "No, please don't call the cops; that won't be necessary," I looked at this insane man and told him to back off.
"Please bear with me for a moment. All I need is your help," I then looked at his troubled face, seeing that he was sincere and that he did appear to need help. I let out a long sigh as I stopped calling the cops. "How did you even get into my room?"
To be honest, everything was strange. Is it possible that I'm still dreaming? Because this doesn't seem real. "As you can see, I'm not really alive,"
He mumbled something. I stared at him, wide-eyed. "I'm not sure I understand what you're saying," He then looked at me and approached me slowly.
"I'm a ghost," I then looked at his face for signs that he was joking, but he maintained a stoic expression.
Then I burst out laughing. "Wow, you must think I'm stupid. Stop joking around and tell me exactly what you want,” I looked at him with the hint of annoyance filling my face.
"I'm telling the truth, I'm a ghost, and I need your help," he said, running his hand through his hair. That made me roll my eyes.
"You know what you're wasting my time, and honestly, I don't even know who you are, so you're lucky I didn't call the cops," When I tried to grab his hands and lead him out of my room, my hands went right through his as if he was air.
I looked at him with my mouth agape from shock. "See? I'm a ghost, now do you believe me?" I was too stunned to comprehend what had just happened.
How did my hand get through his hands? I became so frightened that everything went black all of a sudden and I could hear my body thud against the floor.
The sound of the alarm jolted me awake. I was on the floor of my room, next to my bed. Ugh, my body is aching. I scratched my forehead, confused as to how I had ended up sleeping here.
What happened last night? This could be related to my two strange dreams last night. Apparently, there was a ghost who needed my help.
What a strange dream. I checked the time, and it's still 7 a.m. Fortunately, it's my day off today, and it's also the weekend, so I don't have classes.
I stood up and went to brush my teeth and wash my face. I had a strange dream last night, ugh. That's two dreams. I really should rest today and maybe pay a visit to my mother later with Reya.
I went downstairs to prepare food in the kitchen when I was suddenly greeted by the guy from last night leaning against our kitchen counter. I let out a loud scream.
"Hey relax, it's just me, you fainted last night and I couldn't touch you, so I left you lying beside your bed, sorry," I can't believe this. This is not happening.
"What exactly do you want from me?" I yelled at him, terrified of what was happening. "I already told you. I need your help,"
I stared at him, still perplexed as to why he was asking for my help. What could I possibly do to help him? I'm struggling as well.
"Why should I? Simply go ask someone else to help you," He shook his head. "You don't get it; only you can see me," I looked at him, baffled.
"What do you mean, only I can see you?" He then gave me a sad smile. "I tried with other people, but they couldn't see me, and I tried visiting other people's dreams, but they couldn't hear or see me,"
Woah, how come I can see him? If others can't, why can I? "You can see now why it has to be you," With a smirk, he said. I then shook my head.
"No. It can't be me; I have so much going on in my life that I don't have time to help you," He then frowned slowly at that. I'm suddenly filled with guilt.
I scratched the back of my neck and looked down. This is extremely awkward. "I don't have a lot of time left," I then looked up at him, puzzled by what he was saying.
"Don't have a lot of time? Why?" He then approached me and looked me in the eyes. "I'm not sure, but I can feel it. That is why I need your help. That's all I ask.
If you have any compassion or sympathy left in your body. Please help me," I think I do need to help him because so far, I'm the only one who can see him, and he says he doesn't have much time left, and I'd feel terrible if I didn't.
I let out a long sigh and nodded. "All right, I'll help you," Then he gave me a big smile. Why did he have to be so attractive? That made me roll my eyes.
"I'd hug you, but as you can see, I'm not really able to touch you," He then touched my tummy and his hands went through it.
I then gave him a wide-eyed stare. "Okay, if you want my help, don't do that again," He then laughed and nodded in response.
"All right, boss," he said, holding out his hand for me to shake. I gave him a stern look, and he just laughed and surrendered by raising his hands.
"I'm just kidding, and how rude of me, I haven't even introduced myself yet. My name is Devin," What a lovely name. Devin. I gave him a friendly smile. "Nice name, my name is Rumi,"
We then continued to stare and smile at each other when suddenly Reya walked into the kitchen, our conversation was then cut short.
She waved her hand and smiled at me. I, too, smiled at her. She turned around and pointed behind me. When I looked behind me, I saw Devin. I returned a puzzled look to Reya. Is she able to see him?
She then pointed her finger at me and signed. "Who's that guy behind you, Rumi? Is he a friend of yours?" My face was filled with surprise.
Is it possible for my sister to see him as well? Why can we see him? I'm shocked and terrified right now.
I approached Reya and knelt in front of her. "Can you see him?" I signed to her. She nodded her head and smiled. She then looked at him, waved goodbye, and exited the kitchen.
I looked back at Devin, my mouth agape from shock. He then shrugged and smiled at me. I can't believe this . "How can she see you? I thought I was the only one who could?"
I then looked at him, expecting him to give me a good explanation. He then shrugged and looked at me. "I don't know, maybe you guys are blessed with the ability to see ghosts."
After that, he chuckled and gave me a sly smirk. "I'm not joking. Our family has no history of paranormal activity," This is a big problem. I want to be able to live a normal life with Reya. My mother is still in a coma.
I'm a struggling student, and all of a sudden I see a ghost? This is the strangest thing I've ever heard. "You know what I'm going to do? I'm going to do my research and find someone who can help us,"
He then fist-pumped and applauded me. "Way to go, Rumi!" I then rolled my eyes at him and glared at him. "If you don't shut up, I won't help you," He then remained silent and zipped his mouth shut.
I searched the internet for paranormal experts who could assist us. I scrolled and scrolled until I came across one. "Gotcha!" I said with a big smile.
