Morning Run

1553 Words
I woke up this morning feeling a little queasy. I drunk a little last night but not enough to get me drunk. I'm only 20 so I don't drink much. I at least want to wait until I'm 21 to actually get black out drunk. My mom was a drunk and I don't want to end up like her. My dad on the other hand was an addict to drugs, and that's why I don't smoke. You see, I didn't grow up with roll models, I grew up with people I didn't want to be like. I rolled over to my side to see it was 7. I yawned as I got up and went to my closet. I ate more than I usually do last night so I minus well go for a run. I stripped out of my clothes and put on some leggings and a t-shirt. It's really warm outside so I should be good. I put on my shoes and grabbed my headphones and phone and headed out the door. Once I was outside I started my music and my jog. I don't know my way around yet so I made sure to just go in a straight line. And whenever I did turn I made sure to see what street it was. My music played loudly in my ear just the way I liked it. As the songs passed I started to realize that I was lost. I was so in my head I didn't know where I was going. I groaned seeing as I always do this. I stopped running to catch my breath and looked around. I was by a frozen yogurt place, I made sure to pay attention to where I was because I knew I was going to want to come back here at some point. I took out my phone getting ready to look at google maps until a car pulled up in front of me. It was a black benz with tented windows. The tires had a little red on the giving it the perfect badass flare. I watched as the window of the driver side rolled down and came the face I would least expect. "Ms. Rose. To what do I owe the pleasure?" I asked with a sarcastic tone while crossing my arms. She looked me over and chuckled then stepped out the car. She closed it then leaned against it. "I saw you running." I scoffed and rolled my eyes. "So your stalking me now." I watched as that smirk from yesterday appeared. She was wearing her sunglasses so I couldn't see where exactly she was looking. "Have you ever thought about joining the track team?" She asked, changing the topic. When I looked into the school I thought about doing track but I wasn't too sure. I've always been a good runner, I have a great stamina, and I'm a team player. But seeing as she wants me to join I didn't want to anymore. "No. Now if you excuse me I have to get going." She quietly laughed too herself as if I just made the worst decision of my life. I was really getting pissed off with her. "Get in the car." Was all she said as she opened up her door. I politely smiled and shook my head. "I don't get in cars with strangers." I said as I started to walk away. "I'm not asking again." She damm near growled at me. That tone was something I was beyond used to triggering something in me. Usually when people yell at me or talk down to me it either makes me angry or makes me me want to listen. And for some reason, I want to listen to her. I turned back around and kept my smile. "Then I guess I'm free to go." I turned back around and put back in my headphones and started back running. I could feel her eyes on me the entire time but I didn't look back. Once I turned the corner I sighed and pulled up my google maps. It would have been nice to get a ride though. ****** I sat down at the table that was right by the entrance. Penny sat to my right and Jazz was to my left. Turns out they've known each other for about two years now but never really talked. I know its only the second day but I already like my little friend group I've made. We have Jazz, the somewhat laid back one who likes to party sometimes and drink, and will fight anyone in sight but is also a sweetheart on the inside. Then we have Penny who is as cute as a button and will literally do anything you tell her too. She's very touchy which explains the little kiss on the cheek she gave me yesterday. And then there's me. Who's like right in the middle. Nothing special. "So did you finish the assignment for Literature?" Penny asked as she smiled at me. Her cuteness is overwhelming sometimes. I don't have a crush on her if that's what your thinking. It's just I feel the need to protect her at all times. "Yeah. It was a little difficult but I did it." The assignment was to right about something 'our little hearts desire' as Ms. Rose puts it. So I wrote about having a loving family. You know, vacations, family time, teaching me to read. Unfortunately, my parents provided none of those. My grandma tried but she was old and had already raised kids which I understand. I was taken out of thought as I saw a familiar black benz pull into the teachers parking lot. I watched as she stepped out wearing the same clothes she was wearing earlier. She had on black heels and every step she took held power. I could see why people where afraid of her. I'm more intimidated than afraid. As she got closer she looked in my direction and I looked away. I'm pretty sure she caught me staring. "Miss Wilson. Follow me." She said walking past us without even looking at me as she spoke. Penny and Jazz turned to look at me as if I was getting ready ro die. "Nice knowing ya." Jazz said as she patted my shoulder. I slapped her hand making them both laugh and followed her down the hall. She was way ahead of me at this point so I had to jog a little to catch up. After we turned a corner I watched as she walked up to a door and pulled keys out of her back pocket and unlock the door. I soon followed and noticed her name was right by the door. I walked in and assumed this was her office. "Close the door." She said. I closed the door and watched as she went behind her desk. It was a pretty big room for a college professor's office. There was a black couch that looked tremendously comfortable and two black leather chairs in front of her desk. I sat down in one of them and looked at her. "How come you denied my invitation?" She asked. "You mean when you tried to kidnap me or get me to join track. Because if it's the first one-" "Are you always this intolerable?" I pushed my lips together and nodded my head. She sighed as if she was annoyed and took off her sunglasses. I finally got to see her grey eyes up close again and it was beautiful. I've never actually seen a person with grey eyes and now that I am it's amazing. "Are you listening?!" She yelled causing me to jump back. She was fully glaring at me now. "No. I'm sorry." I said very quietly while putting my head down. My dignity is gone at this point and I know there is no turning back. "Where's the assignment I asked for?" She asked. I cleared my throat trying to regain some of my sense and pulled it out of my bag that I ended up bringing today. I handed it to her and watched as she looked over it. She flipped through all three pages and then put it down next to her. "I expect to see you at practice tomorrow morning." "Your going to be waiting for a very long time then." I said as I got up and and walked towards the door. She got what she needed from me, even though she could have got it during class, so there's no need for me to be here. "You sure you want to play this game with me?" I heard her ask behind me. I turned around to look at her to see her leaning back in her chair. "Well I do love a good game." I said as I put my hand on the doorknob. I heard her chuckle which caused me to get irritated and annoyed. I watched as she stood up and walked over to me. Her heels clacking against the floor and the power she held in herself was endless. Right when she was directly in front of me she put her hand under my chin and made me look at her. "This is going to be fun."
