The room was silent as f**k. The old ceiling fan kept betraying the silence. At a glance one would see something that needed fixing in the house.
“So? I just made a confession. What do you have to say?” She had this look on her face that assured me that she wasn’t joking.
“I umm. I don’t know what to say” I was nervous.
“Well you have to say something. Anything. I wanna know my stand” she said with precision.
“Okay? Since when?”
“Damn, you really are annoying. I just told you I love you but all you care to know is how long I’ve caught feelings? You’re impossible.” She stared at me. She tried to mask her emotions but I could see the disappointment in her eyes. “Well if it’s important to you, it was last week”
“Uh, okay.” I forced myself to speak. My palm and forehead were already getting sweaty. “You remember when we met in that pub in Philly last year? When you were still rolling with the twins?”
“Yes, why?” I could tell she didn’t understand where this conversation was heading.
“I’ma digress a minute. What happened with you and the twins”
“Well, long story cut short; we didn’t catch vibes no more so we broke up.” She answered curtly
“Damn. Y’all made a great team then. Too bad.”
“So why are you going back to the time in Philadelphia?”
“Yea right. The reason why I brought it up was because I had a crush on you back then” I started looking at everything but her because I was shy.
“This is messed up. Why didn’t you let me know” She chuckled.
“I didn’t know how to approach you. I can be shy around women. Especially when I like them. Then I came to Brooklyn and was surprised to meet you here. And as D’s girlfriend” that last part broke me.
“So, what are you saying? You don’t have a crush on me anymore?” she grabbed my face softly, guiding me to focus my eyes on her.
“No. That’s the tricky part. I still have feelings for you. Although I didn’t want you to find out. At least not this way because you’re D’s girl now.”
“We could always figure something out” she suggested immediately, perhaps I would reject her.
“You don’t say? Why does it sound like you’re suggesting we cheat on D? Under his roof”
“Because I am. I already am by having feelings for you. But if we play our cards well, he won’t find out” she had this dangerous mischievous smile on her face now.
“Can I sleep over it and give you a response tomorrow?” I didn’t really buy the idea, but I was willing to give it a thought because of the thrill of it.
“You know, back in Philly. I think I had a crush on you too” she blurted but I sensed honesty lacking in her words.
“You don’t say” I couldn’t hide the sarcasm in my voice. “Where are you from exactly?” I changed the topic because I wasn’t comfortable around her.
“I’m from Brooklyn. But I moved in with my granny in Queens because my parents wanted to separate, and it wasn’t exactly a healthy environment for me. At my granny’s I got transferred to Choat, and that’s where I met the twins”, she gave a detailed explanation
“How did you end up in Philly then?”
“The twins are from Philly so I used to follow them home sometimes, and that’s how we met at the pub”
“Okay. Now about us. How are we going to work this thing out?” I asked after a long thought.
“Well D has done much for me. So, I’ll give him the respect of not having s*x with you. We could do some other nasty stuff” that mischievous smile was back again?”
“What do you mean?”
“o******x. It’s technically foreplay as there’s no penetration, but I’m sure we can do wonders with our tongue.” She grinned
“The f**k? Nah, you’re naughty as hell” I laughed, but I was curious to know how my p***s would feel inside her mouth.
“You know in the movies this is the part where we kiss.” She kept eye contact with me, biting her lips flirtatiously
“Well, this is real life. Not a movie”
“Don’t be smart with me and just shut up” she pulled my face towards her and our lips interlocked.
Roses are red
Berries are blue
Like cherries were the taste of her lips
