"I thought I said I didn't want anyone prying into my private matters."
"Ohh.. Madam Gianne told you?."
"Yes, I don't like owing anyone so I would be paying this back to you but I don't still get anything here. You know who I am. You know what I do to live. Then why aren't you convincing your daughter out of this?."
His gaze never left his laptop. "I could have but I couldn't. I should be asking you what you did to my daughter that made her that way. Just remember clearly I am doing this for my daughter and nothing else. I am sure they would have told you who I am. I am not interested in any closeness. Just focus on my daughter."
He is not interested in what?. Does he think because she knew who he was, she would be trembling before him?.
Who does he even think he is?. These rich men are just nothing to read home about.
"I never said I was interested in getting any closer before. I am sure you know what's called longer distancing. That would be good for the both of us. And stop acting like you are doing me a favor here. Rather, I am the one helping you here. You should be grateful I consented afterall. So could you just stop being a jerk?!."
Miah blurted out, her eyes rolling in return.
She stood and left without turning back. Enough of his stupid entitlement on her.
Ronald looked up from what he was doing. This lady sure has a nerve to talk back at him that way.
He hoped she would be able to last longer than a month in his house.
A beep on his phone, he knew someone was at his office.
In no time, he had gotten there.
He walked in to see his mum seated with a man. Could she be at her antics again?
"I heard something that's needed to be confirmed right here." She began. Her son had never given another lady a glance after Mirabel's incident. Could the Information be true?.
"Mum, you can decipher if it was true or not?. Why do you have to come all the way to ask me that?.
"You might be nonchalant about some things but I am not and I will never. Your father left you two and this empire with me. You can't act negligent about it because of your own emotions."
"Then what has all these got to do with what you heard?. Aurora needed her and I got her in."
"So it was true?. I told your brother that I was sure she could have held you spellbound, who knows?. I partly came here for that because you have to do what's necessary."
Ronald gazed at his mum. "Mum, I don't think I have anything to say to this. Stick with Rex because he need you and not me."
"Do you have to remind me of the past?. Do you have to remind me that....."
"Mum, will you stop all these?!. Don't play the blame game here. You know how I do my things. You know how I want them to be. You know me more than anyone would and I would never succumb to anything that's against my will. I hope we are clear on that."
"Mr Ronald, I know you want to stand on your will but this concerns the future of the Grey's Empire. This has to be done with immediate effect. We can't afford lose another deal to the Linners."
"So I am the bait, right?. I should be the one to stand in the gap, right?!."
Timmy walked in. He knew this would never amount to what any of them wanted. He knew Ronald too well to know he would never accept what they were saying.
"Tim, talk to Ronald. You and I know how this is very important to him and to us."
"I will talk to him, ma'am. Just let him be for now. I am sure he is stressed."
"We will long to hear from you."
Mrs Grey said and walked out with the man.
"You had better be the one to give them an explanation and offer yourself to them instead. I am not a pawn and I can make decisions myself!."
Timmy nodded.
_
"Tada!..."
Miah jerked from her sleep. Did Madam Gianne bring any little child to this place?. Why would...
She rubbed her eyes to see Aurora smiling widely before her. She was...
"Wake up, Mama!. It's morning already. Breakfast is ready."
Breakfast is ready by this time?. She had always eaten after Madam Gianne paid her for the night.
Could this really be a reality?
"Mama, what's wrong?."
Miah forced herself to sit up and smiled." Nothing, dear. I guess I just have to get used to it, you know."
Her phone beeped and she picked it up.
What did Evelyn had to say this time?. Maybe it would be good if she didn't have anything to do with her again.
Or maybe not.
"I thought you wouldn't pick up since you are now in Ronald's home?."
"Can you tell me why you called?. I don't want to argue over nothing now."
"Have you checked the news yet?. Girl, you are all over the internet!. His Mum even made a talk about it. Miah, tell me, what have you done to the Grey's family?."
Miah seemed lost. Internet?. How?. What would Ronald's mum seemingly talk about?
"Evelyn, I hate it when people speak in riddles. I don't understand what you are saying and I don't want to. I will suggest you don't call me anymore and you can seem it fit to anything your thoughts bring to that. Take care."
She cut the conversation and sighed. She had always wanted a quiet life with no entanglements. What was going on again?.
"Aurora, did anything happen while I was asleep?."
"If you are talking about what's on my tab, then yes. Grandma said some things I don't quite understand but I think you would be getting married to Dad soon!."
"What?!."
