-Flashback- It was my sixteenth birthday and I was happy to think that maybe I could have a restful day. Normally the day was no different than any other day. Alpha Mark was not keen on allowing me to relax at any time, but yesterday he told me that today was going to be much different than any other year. I left my room in the basement and walked to the kitchen to eat something before the day began. I entered the kitchen and ran into Mark. “Oh, forgive me Alpha, I did not see you there.” He turned around and gave me an evil smile. “Just the thing I was looking for.” The look in his eyes sent chills thru my entire body. I started to back away from him. As I backed away, he followed. When my back hit the wall in the hallway, he chuckled. “Nowhere to run now.” I turned to run down the hallway hoping to get back to my room. There was a lock on the door and if I could get there than I knew I would be safe for a few minutes, but he was faster than I was and he grabbed a handful of my hair. I yelled out in pain. “Let me go!” “But I have a birthday gift for you.” I stopped fighting him and stood up. He let me go and I faced him. I looked to the floor as I always did when in front of him. “You are sixteen now Mary and it’s time you started to repay this pack for the kindness we have shown you when we did not have to.” I looked up at him with surprise. “What do you mean?” Two men stepped behind me so that I could not run again and Mark pulled out his gift from behind his back. I looked at his hands and it was a large metal collar with a chain attached to it. I turned around to run, but I ran into the two men behind me. They grabbed my arms and turned me held me still. Mark attached the collar to my neck and put a padlock on it to hold it in place. The feel of the metal against my skin was painful and I yelled out. Mark laughed as he pulled on the chain. I flew back and onto the floor. “This way,” he demanded and started to walk down the hallway pulling me along. I got to my feet and followed him with my head down. He pulled me all the way to the second floor and to a room at the end of the hallway that no one ever used. He opened the door to reveal a bed at the center of the room with nothing else. “Why am I here?” He pulled me into the room and over to the bed. He bent down and locked the other end of the chain to the bed frame. He looked me up and down in a way he had never looked at me before. I started to feel uncomfortable and turned away from him. “You decided to wear a dress today and even though it is a nice one, you are no longer going to need it.”  That was the beginning of the torcher that I endured for the next two years.
