It was a joyful day for the Sterling family. The Sterling family was the leader of the four best families in Orange Park.
Recently, their company, GlobalPinnacle Group, has just signed a permanent agreement with the ImperialSage Group. This has caused their fame to spread even more in OrangePark and its environment.
Also, the head patriarch turned 85. It was a double celebration for the Sterling family.
Inside the Sterling family's villa, local celebrities gather to celebrate. Everyone in OrangePark was there to celebrate with the Sterling family.
“The Richmore family gives Mr. Sterling a Patek Philippe White Gold Calibre watch worth 6.9 million. They wish him more life,” a soft voice announced.
“The Brokelyn gives Mr. Sterling a Domaine de la Romanee wine, which is worth 1.2 million dollars. They say a happy return!”
At the main entrance, a beautiful tall lady in a long red dress held a microphone to her mouth and started announcing the gifts that the guests had brought.
Mason Sterling was a big man in the city, and everyone wanted to get in favour with him. It was a way to their future success anyway. So, a lot of people brought gifts for him.
Even the Lavender's family had struggled to get an extravagant gift for Mason to ingratiate themselves with the Sterling family. They got Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon, which was worth 800,000 dollars.
Mason Sterling was in the foyer, dressed in an expensive Armani suit. Hearing the gifts that were being presented to him, he smiled.
Suddenly, a tall man with broad shoulders showed up carrying a coffin. The coffin weighed 200 pounds, but this man supported it with only his left shoulder. He was wearing a black grim reaper mask to conceal his identity.
This was Drey Redford. The major reason for his return to OrangePark was to repay everyone just what they deserved. Since he had married Betty, he didn't want to cause trouble for her.
The Sterling family was a big name. So he was sure that they would be present at the party.
So, it was why he was wearing a mask.
He crashed the coffin into the villa's door. It scaled through and landed at the foyer.
Everyone was shocked. This was Mason Sterling's birthday. Who could have such a coffin?
Mason's eyes widened with shock as he regarded the masked man for a moment. “Who are you? Where are the bodyguards? How did he come through?”
“I am the grim reaper,” a thick voice replied.
Mason got furious. “Do you know where this is? How dare you play pranks here?”
A scoff. “This coffin is your birthday gift, and next year will be your anniversary of death!” he announced.
Everyone gasped. Who could dare do this to the Sterling family?
One of the Sterling bodyguards moved forward suddenly and gripped Drey by his hand.
“This is the Sterling family territory. We decide who dies and who lives!” He muttered and reached for Drey's mask.
Drey took his hand and started to twist it. The man struggled with him, but his strength was no match with the man in the mask.
Drey turned it and the man winced in pain. He let him go and watched him fall to the floor, still wincing in pain.
Another rushed at him from behind. Drey dodged his attack and launched his, sending him reeling backwards. Several other bodyguards stepped out.
But within minutes, they were on the floor groaning in pain.
Everyone thought the masked man was doomed, but they didn't expect him to be so skilled in martial art.
Even Mason was shocked and decided to escape. But Drey saw him in time. He jumped up and knocked him down.
Mason was forced to the floor with nowhere to run. No one could move closer now to help him, as they were scared of what the masked man would do to them. Besides, they all saw how he single-handedly dealt with the bodyguards of the Sterling family.
He pulled out a wire that had blades around it. “Do you remember the innocent people you killed ten years ago?”
At this moment, even though Mason couldn't talk, he was profusely sweating. Drey didn't give him the chance to talk before he wrapped the wire around his neck and started to pull.
His head went off. He took out a bag from his pocket, placed the head in it, and walked out, leaving the guests in terror.
Drey placed the bag beside his family's tomb. “This is Mason, like I'd promised, but that's not all. I will take the rest of their heads and give them to you. Then I will reclaim the family heirloom,“ he swore.
…
At the Sterling family residence, the guests had left, and it was just the Sterling family remaining.
The lifeless body of Mason was placed in a coffin.
A tall, curvy woman walked to the coffin. It was Cynthia Sterling.
“Has anyone called Lucas?” She asked no one in particular.
“Yes, he's on his way already,” one of the family members responded.
They all knelt in front of the patriarch's coffin to pay their last respects.
Suddenly, four cars pulled into the parking lot. The door opened, and several soldiers hurried out. They went to the BMW at the back and opened the door. Lucas got down.
He hesitated slightly, a dark frown on his face as his gaze searched around him for a second. Then he proceeded inside.
He rushed to the coffin and kneeled in front of it. “I'm so sorry, father, for coming late,” he muttered and looked at Cynthia. “Let me see the surveillance footage.”
After reviewing the surveillance footage, Lucas turned to Cynthia again. “What did he say before he killed his father?”
Cynthia tried to remember.“He asked a question. Do you remember the innocent people you killed ten years ago?”
Lucas placed a hand at his chin as he reasoned it. “The Redford family were the only one that was killed ten years ago.”
Cynthia's eyes widened as realisation dawned on her. She nodded quickly.“Yes, right!”
“That means someone is fighting on behalf of the Redford family. Definitely, the masked man is a remnant of the Redford family.”
Cynthia was shocked. “But everyone died that day.”
“Well, he must have escaped somehow. But I am going to find him,” he swore. “He didn't only kill father. He humiliated him. I am going to humiliate him too, before killing him.”
Lucas’ fist clenched beside him. “I am going to find the survivor of the Redford family.”
