CHAPTER EIGHT

Avery is already staying at the island for three weeks now, and as she see, the island is rich in different place to explore, from water, to land adventure, where she was able to tour with Brianna as a promised, that she made the first time they meet each other.

As for Brianna, she can’t say anything towards her, she had a lot of fun as Brianna toured her at some places in the island that she haven’t toured yet. But even though she got to enjoy the island so much,  Gene is still lingering on her mind, and keep on wondering if Gene is okay.

The last time she saw her was when they had dinner, week ago but it ended early after Gene’s wrist watch beep again like the last time when she wounded her foot, which she think it only means that there is something urgent happened, for Gene excuse herself again, and she saw her got guilty because of that, so she told Gene that it is alright, and even she saw that in Gene’s eyes that she don’t wanna go yet, but it seems really urgent specially her wrist watch beep again for the second time.

She wants to asked Brianna about Gene when she toured her around, but she didn’t get herself to ask when she attempt to.

Now, she is on her way towards the place called cannon cave. One of the most popular tourist spot that located at the west side of the island, that was know to have a sound of a cannon in the battle when the wave hits the rocks on the cave,

Brianna was suppose to accompany her today, but Brianna came yesterday to cancel their schedule today for an urgent situation that she needs to go back to the city today, but then she promise her to make up with their cancelled schedule, that made her touch for Briannas too much hospitality for her.

She also told Brianna that she will go and continue their scheduled entourage., and not to worry about it. And because Brianna can’t go with her, Brianna gave her some information, and safety rules about the places that on their list.

And now she is on her way to her first destination, with her camera hanging in her neck, when she saw the lady that she remember named Raine, the lady who barged in the clinic for Gene.

Raine is walking with Genefrom afar , that made her stop from her tracks, and let her sight followed the two lady.

She felt relieve seeing Gene looking okay, so she relieve a sign and smile before she continue her tracks again.

Her mouth fell in awe as she entered the cannon cave, not minding the loud sound that coming from the waves that is hitting in the rocks. At first, she don’t have any plan to get inside the cave, because she though that the cannon sound is much louder than what she is hearing outside but, she found out that it isn’t, and she feel glad that she decided to enter, because if not, she wouldn’t be able to see what she is seeing at that moment.

“Wow!” She can’t help but to exclaimed in awe.

With her camera, she didn’t waste anytime and took a picture on a crystal like stone due to the reflection of the sunlight that made the stone crystalize in different colors that lighting the cave inside. The stones are also reflecting to the water making the water reflection a rainbow like.

She feels like in a different dimension as she came in the middle of the cave as she took a picture of that place in a different angle, and just stop after being contended with her shots, and decided to rest and check her camera at the side of the crytallize stones near the streaming water.

A contended smile plastered in her lips as she browse her taken photos, but her attention was caught when she heard a shutter sound at the dark corner of the cave just a few feet away from where she is, that made her build her guard up to whoever it is.

And because she is in the lighted part of the cave, she needed to close her eyes to spot the where she heard the shutter sound, and saw a man in his board shorts and t-shirt coming to the light with a camera in his hands.

“I’m sorry, I just can’t help to take a photo of you,” the man spoke as it stop a few meters from her.

“You are just wonderful being in the middle of where you are,” the man added. “I apologize again.”

Avery, knotted her brows after she saw the man’s face as it seems familiar to her, before she stood spoke.

“It’s okay, you already apologize.” She replied

“By the way, you look familiar, Mister. Did you mind if I ask if… Do we have met already before?” She asked curiously, remembering where did she saw the man infront of her.

The man nod while hanging his camera to his neck with smile before it answered her.

“Yep, and I want to sulk that, I was just being familiar to you now, Mi Bella.” The man replied.

Avery didn’t able to reply after hearing what the man had called her, as she busied herself where did she heard that nickname, while the man look at her with entertainment in his eyes as she tried to remember where the nick name came from, until her eyes widen when she remember it, and look at the man infront of her.

“Y-You…” she uttered with her mouth parted in surprise to who is the man infront of her.

“You remember me now.” The man said with his dimple came visible as he smiled.

“Oh my gosh! J-Jonas…” Avery finally uttered to the man’s name with her hands on her mouth,

Jonas smile widen, glad that Avery finally remembered him. He has been looking for Avery after he got back to the country after migrating and just recently came back for a vacation, and to visit Avery as well, but he didn’t find Avery.

He didn’t know that he will saw Avery here, and that is all because of the accident. Yes, he was the one who got bump with Avery and made the food in the lunch box scattered, but Avery didn’t even recognize him and he can’t blame Avery not to recognize him, for he was fat man when he migrated, and decided to lose weight and toned his body.

“You brute! How come you become a hunk, I remembered you being big when you left.” Avery said, still in awe by her mentor s***h friend’s change of appearance.

“Well…” Jonas replied shrugging his shoulders, “I just became like this.”

“Psh!’

Avery rolled her eyes because of that, before she came to give Jonas a friendly welcome hug, that Jonas welcomed.

“Welcome back.” She said as they separate from their hug.

Jonas smile at her and said, “Thank you, Mi Bella.”
