Chapter six
Alpha Kael POV
I let myself enjoy the spontaneous kiss, deepening it as her lips parted. Her taste was intoxicating, a mix of sweetness and wildness that drew me in.
As our tongues danced, my wolf stirred, sensing female touch after a long time. I felt the primal urge to claim her, to mark her as mine.
But I restrained myself, savoring the gentle exploration of her mouth. Her hands wandered up my arms, her touch sending shivers down my spine.
Without breaking the kiss, I gently guided her backward, onto the bed. She yielded willingly, her body melting into the mattress.
I followed, my body covering hers, our lips still locked. The kiss grew more passionate, our breaths intermingling.
Her hands slipped under my robe, her fingers tracing the scars on my back. I tensed, but she didn't pull away.
Instead, she deepened the kiss, her touch igniting a fire within me.
My wolf growled, demanding release, but I maintained control.
The door creaked open, breaking the spell between us.
We ripped apart like two magnets released from their hold.
Dr. Thompson stood in the doorway, a hint of surprise on his face.
"My apologies, your highness," He muttered head bowed, "I would just step out and wait a bit."
I waved him off, indicating he can stay, wrapping my robe firmly, I stood up from the bed.
A part of me glad for the interruption, the other angry for it.
I turn to face the young lady; her cheeks flushed as she scrambled to sit up, her eyes avoiding mine. Using her long curly blond hair, she tried to cover her face. I could feel her embarrassment and vulnerability radiating from her like a palpable aura.
"I... uh... sorry," she stuttered pulling the bedspread over her.
I nodded gently, it's definitely her fault. Initiating the kiss. What gave her the right? I ignore the little voice in my heard screaming "but you enjoyed it!"
I sat on the only available chair beside the table, picking a cup on the table; I gracefully raise the cup to my mouth and chuck down it's content.
I spit it out the moment it content graced my tongue, "arg, what the hell is this?" I screamed
"My medicine, I suppose." Her tiny voice whispered. She does have a beautiful voice.
I stare daggers at the cup. I desperately needed a drink. I made a mental note to stock the cabin with drinks before my next visit.
I noticed Dr. Thompson squirreled in one corner, his head bowed, avoiding eye contact. His usual composure was rattled, and I sensed a hint of unease emanating from him.
"Dr. Thompson," I called out, my voice firm but controlled.
He flinched, his eyes darting up to meet mine.
"Y-yes, Your Highness?" he stuttered.
"A moment," I ordered.
I opened the door and stepped out of the room with him following me closely.
I heard the door shut behind me.
"Alpha," He stood in front of me head bowed in reverence. “My mouth is completely sealed, in fact, I didn't witness any event,” he said.
"Excellent, and one more thing, Dr. Thompson,"
"Anything, Alpha,"
"Refrain from addressing me as the Alpha, direct any questions you have for me with a nod,"
Dr. Thompson nodded, his eyes still cast downward.
"Understood... sir."
I studied him for a moment, ensuring he grasped the gravity of the situation.
"Good. Now, return to your duties."
He bowed, walked pass me and entered the cabin.
I stood out staring at the outgrown grasses. What are you doing Alpha Kael Duke?
I have never had anyone except Dr. Thompson over in the cabin, yet I had brought a stranger, kissed her and almost had s*x with her.
A stranger whose name I know not. I felt what I haven't felt since Luna Natalie passed. A surge of sadness mixed with heart ache washed over me as I thought of my mate.
I bent my head to avoid the threatening tears from falling.
"You are not alone, so you dare not show your weakness to people," I reminded myself.
I stare at the green grasses, letting the fresh air calm the storm inside of me. After some time, I decided to check the situation inside.
As I turned, the bracelet on my arm chimed, I taped on it, a hologram of Beta Ramon appeared.
"Where the f**k have you been?" the voice rang.
"Is that how you speak to your Alpha," I jokingly said.
"My apologies, Alpha, I thought I was addressing my best friend," He bowed slightly.
"And yes you are," I said, he raised his head to look at me, I gave a little nod.
"And why the hell were you looking for me?"
"The entire park were worried, you blocked your mind link, the team have been trying to access your location since the day you disappeared but all to no avail, we were barely able to get to you," He said.
My cabin was designed not to give any signal as long as am inside. They only got me because I stepped out.
"The entire park or the Queen Alpha?" I asked.
"All, Kael. Where have you been?" He asked.
"I needed some fresh air, just take of things around," I said, "And Ramon, do not come here,"
I knew my location has been revealed, Ramon is capable of sending an army of Gamma to escort me back to the park.
"Kael..."
"That is an order," I interrupted
"Yes Alpha," He bowed.
I tapped the bracelet and his hologram disappeared.
I took a deep breath and turn towards the door.
As I re-entered the room, her gaze met mine.
Our eyes locked, she quickly looked away.
I noticed Dr. Thompson examining her.
"What is your name?" He asked.
"Kaila," She replied.
Hmm, Kaila, nice name.
"How do you feel..." I tuned them off and walked towards the table.
I wondered if am neglecting my duties as the Alpha to the park. Since the Luna's death, Ramon has been working behind the scene while I seat like a figure head on the throne. I think it's time I get involved.
A gentle tap jotted my out of my thoughts. I turned to see Dr. Thompson.
I raised my eyebrows to ask; what is it?
"I need to talk to you about Kaila?" He said
"I'm listening,"
"I fear that..." He paused, took a glance at her and continue. "Is it alright if we talk privately."
