KALIA POV I opened my eyes, the harsh lights pierced. I felt numb, I winced as a surge of pain embraced me. I closed my eyes as I couldn't stand the harshness of the brightness. I felt a movement around the room, I hastily opened my eyes. The most beautiful pair of piercing blue eyes met mine. A chiseled face, strong jawline, and deep golden hair framed those captivating eyes. A distinct slanted scar across his jaw making him more alluring and handsome sending my heart racing. Draped in a white robe, he looks like a model straight out of a magazine. But, who is he? My instincts kicked in immediately, and I thrust forward, ready to defend myself. He quickly reached out and held me down to the bed that I couldn't move. "Easy, young lady," His deep baritone voice sent shivers down my spine. He gently released me and walked towards a table by the end of the room. "What happened and who are you?" My voice seems creaked, indicating I've been out for a long time. I looked around; I was obviously in the cabin, the woods an indication. It seems like it is not frequently used, judging from the plain design, a bed and just a table in the room. I wondered where exactly it's located. "Found you unconscious in the woods," He said, not sparing me a glance. It came rushing back, Lucas' rejection, the deep pain and anger I had felt. The wolf bane I step on. Tears threaten to drop. I made up my mind not to focus on my issue but to fully embrace this situation and enjoy it to the fullest. He picked the silver kettle, poured out some substance from it and walked back towards me. "Damn," I whispered. His golden hair fell across his forehead in messy waves, framing his strong jawline and angular cheekbones. A slanted scar across his jaw added to his captivating features. His broad shoulders and muscular chest stretched the fabric of his simple white shirt, showcasing his athletic build. Every inch of him screamed confidence and strength, from his confident stride to the fluid movements of his body. He exuded an aura of someone of authority. I felt tiny and vulnerable beside him, yet strangely safe. "Goddess," I whispered to myself, "he's breathtaking." He stood in front of me; he stretched the cup to me. A green substance with a rich smell hit my nostrils. "Here, Doctor Thompson instructed that it should be given to you as soon as you wake up?" I raised my eyebrows in question. "Doctor Thompson will be here any moment from now," He said. Raising the cup to my lips, I gulped it. Immediately, I felt relieved. All the pain I felt drained, it was like the medicine revived my werewolf healing ability. "Thank you," I whispered gently while sitting up. He nodded and sat beside me on the bed. My heart raced in a million paces. "How long have I been out?" "Three days," He said Three days, my family must be so worried and somehow, I don't care. I swallowed hard as we locked our gaze. 'Why am I attracted to this stranger a few days after the rejection from my mate?' I thought. "Who are you?" I asked again, my voice softer. A small almost invisible smile cut across his face. He hesitated, then looked at me intensely. "Someone who's been alone for a long time and is in deep pain," he whispered. My heart broke for him, it was almost as if I could feel and hear his pain. I draw myself closer to him, throwing caution to the winds. I let myself flow with the tides. I held his hands, sensing no resistance from him, I gently turned him to face. "I'm sorry," I whispered and went into his arms. His breath caressed my skin, sending shivers down my spine. I reached up, tracing the scar on his jaw. "You're not alone now." I whispered into his ears. Gently, he lifted my face with his palm to face him. His eyes locked onto mine, burning with intensity matching mine. Without thinking, I leaned in, my lips brushing against his. He claimed my lips, his mouth moving with a gentle urgency that left me breathless. His arms wrapped around me, pulling me closer as our kiss deepened. His tongue danced with mine, sending shivers down my spine. Time stood still. The world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, lost in this moment. His scar brushed against my skin. But at this instant, I didn't care about anything. All I wanted was him. All I craved was him.
